Most Unpleasant Thing a Reviewer Has Said o you (69)

1 Name: WindAlias : 2010-10-17 10:38 ID:5A6cyVen

This has only happened to me once, but it was enough.

An Anonymous reviewer told me that I was a horrible writer with no taste and that I should go die in a hole. Obviously, this hurt my feelings quite a bit and made me want to stop writing for a while.

Has this ever happened to you?

2 Name: Wisdom Thumbs : 2010-10-19 20:04 ID:3sYZfo5i

Yes, actually. Some people write nothing BUT flame reviews. And there was one time years ago when I first started fanfiction. Every chapter I posted, this one guy would just rip it apart and spam the story with the same comment over and over.

What's even worse is that he hacked my account and posted some pretty raunchy... well, raunchy isn't the word for it.

But you just have to get back on the horse and don't worry too much about them. Unless they're giving you helpful advice, or what they're saying appears to have some truth in it, then you should just ignore the review entirely and keep improving on your own time.

3 Name: Kimberley : 2010-10-26 03:34 ID:P13NEil0

It happened to me too.
It was one of those people who look up stories that they don't like and then they'll spam it.

She wrote that I had to take the story down or she would keep on sending me hate mail. She really insulted me in her review. I blocked her and reported her to the admins.
She then wrote something about me on her profile page, insulting me again. I reported her again, but I haven't heard from her since.

The best thing to do is keep writing, because there are always people out there who like your stories!

4 Name: Rika : 2010-11-03 15:39 ID:bdlkKeh4

I hated it when i got a flame. She told me i was a horrible writer, and my story really sucked. Needless to say, i've kind of quick writing after that. You lose faith

5 Name: THEKyuubi27 : 2010-11-04 21:59 ID:h4mBbTO/

Some anonymous writer actually insulted me by saying, "garbage

This story begins with a young boy. But to understand fully who he is, and why it's about him, you should know a bit about him. His name is Uzumaki Naruto, age 7, civilian of Konohagakure no Sato. For the first six years of his life, he was mistreated. Overcharged, beaten, starved. Basically, treated worse than criminals.

That crap never happened in canon and it's getting really pathetic to see it being used again and again in stories. Take your own author notes about stale ideas to heart and put into practice. As to the rest of the chapter it's completely ridiculous. No offense though because there are people out here who'll still read anything regardless how idiotic the plot is."

I mean No Duh! Most stories aren't canon, and if they are, then there's no point to write them....I mean, if you do it anonymous, then you're just scared that people will know who you are, and call 'bull-crap'....

The worst flame I got was also the only flame I got.

I apparently got one niggling detail incorrect on an old Shin Megami Tensei III fic I wrote, so this guy gave me a fifty million page essay about how I got that detail wrong, and how I am an idiot.

I sent him a message in reply, and it was the only thing anyone could have possibly said to him:

"cool story bro"

7 Name: Magickless : 2010-11-10 21:09 ID:rW7rnVLE

Heh...with one of the stories I posted for Bleach: I had my favorite pairing, she apparently loved the exact opposite pairing (Hime over Rukia) and proceeded to give me a long rant about how I was 'deluding myself' and should 'stop watching because I don't understand' along with a lot else...but compared to some of the others I've seen...this is nothing...

8 Name: Wings of Silver Rain : 2010-11-11 17:30 ID:Dcax5oWx

Hahahah...I never actually got a flame, (still a bit of a n00b? dunno) but I've read many hurtful reviews by others of other stories. (Yes, I'm the kind of person who reads reviews...)
Pokemon fans, have you ever heard of Farla? I don't want to be talking behind her back, but I've read lots of flames by her. One story that I liked was erased, as well as the account, after a bonfire by her.
I think those kinds of reviewers should calm down and have a cookie, then think about what would happen if they got that kind of a review. Any agreers? (did i spell that wrong? i probably did :P)

9 Name: Amber : 2010-11-12 02:03 ID:tqaeQs71

In four years of my FF writing I only received one flame and that was recently. They simply said "moron". But when you have several other reviews saying the opposite it doesn't get to you much. I replied to them saying if they thought it sucked that was fine, but to review in a more intelligent way and tell me WHY it sucked. They replied back with horrible spelling/grammar saying my spelling/grammar was horrible...obviously mine isn't. So they ended up being just a troll and I let it be. ^_^

10 Name: Gothic-Neko-Writer : 2010-11-13 09:42 ID:i3BFDpE/

The only flame I got said my story was Boringgg I felt like I was actually going to stop writing the story until I got another review after that one that said they didn't find the story boring at all. ever since then I've never gotten another flame.

11 Name: SukiItami : 2010-12-11 14:17 ID:ClbWsLFU

A few years back, when I wrote one of my first shounen-ai/yaoi fanfics, I got an anonymous review that said, "This makes me sick. Two guys don't belong together, and you're sinning against God by believing they do." It pissed off not only me, but also quite a few other people who had read the story. Shortly after that had been posted, I got a lot of positive feedback for the story because people were angry at the guy who had posted the flame.

12 Name: Ashurii : 2010-12-11 16:07 ID:wfKeVu/l

Admittedly I did flame someone, but it wasn't because I dislike their story or anything.

It was because they were told that my friend, a recent writer on, had taken their story because her title was 'Welcome to Yaoi Academy' and theirs was 'Welcome to Yaoi High', So i went to defend her.

Recently - a few years after the fact- I apologize for my outburst and that was that.

13 Name: Chris000 : 2010-12-12 10:46 ID:ycN9XxU3

One reviewer actually said he hoped I got banned because he thought the story was so bad.

Naturally I was a little pissed off, but he reviewing without an account. Coward.

14 Name: KazeYami : 2010-12-13 07:27 ID:E4PZ/8Ij

>>8 I'll be the first to admit that the urge to flame is great in me. But, most people who 'flame' in a serious manner, don't consider them flames, because they have thick enough skin to handle it. They don't consider that most of the /really/ bad fanfics online are those of young kids or new writers. Not everyone can jump in like an expert. My little sister writes really horrible fanfics, so I always think of her before I give in to the urge to rip a writer a new one.

>>11 All of the flames that came to mind when I read through this thread were about the same as yours. Is it cruel that I find those reviews really hilarious (because, they gave my story a higher hit and review count, which makes it seem more popular). Awesome. ;D

15 Name: CouchPotato121 : 2010-12-15 13:20 ID:wC9E7NNX

Someone told me on a story that I had just posted that I was ignorant in the subject that I was exploring and should do more research though most of it was common sense. First fan fic posted ever, first review ever. I was just like: wow...

16 Name: prussia's-germany : 2010-12-20 16:14 ID:7grz76kz

someone, on a yaoi fic, kept telling me how "indecent" such an idea as to write abotu boys love and would repeatedly harras a certain story for like 6 chapters in a row and even privately sent me a message probably about a page long. so, i sent a message back saying

the person stopped doing it, so i was happy. : )

ive heard a lot of bad cases about people being terribly flamed for terribly spelling or very loose story ideas. i've read many stories with not so well or perfect grammar and very VERY loose ideas, but i really have no problem with it because i read stories for fun, liek it should be sometimes. i once knew of an author who created one story and there was this one review that told her to stop writting and not even try to make any more stories, she ended up deleting the story and her account, it made me a little sad. :(

17 Name: AlsoAnonymous : 2010-12-23 07:41 ID:0pl8wFH7

My friend and shared this account for awhile and we wrote, what I still think is, a great story. We got a flame telling us that "Your obviously ugly and should just go kill yourself because no one cares about your stupid face. You probably have your hands down your pants all day go die you worthless person"
They didn't even check our profile to see that we were both 12 at the time.

18 Name: Vaneskera : 2010-12-25 21:49 ID:5Mr4qnFM

I once got a review from someone about breaking up Bella and Edward and hating Jacob. I'd expressed my opinions in my story. God forbid.

19 Name: ViVi-chan03 : 2010-12-26 19:50 ID:Xwx6bWnF

most unpleasant is that i was writing the fanfiction wrong. like wtf. i have a creative mind thank u very much -.- and i like to write things a certain way. heaven forbid someone tries to express a good idea around here

20 Name: kazorashi : 2011-01-08 22:42 ID:nN13Bm0Q

I don't mind what people usually say about my fictional stories. Okayyy, THAT was a lie. But when I recieve a bad comment, I don't mind. Obviously more people like them. So whoever it was can kiss the end of my...well, you get the picture. But I love it when it's a person logged in(:. I LOVE talking to them about my fictional story and watching them lose a losing battle(:

21 Name: Kimberley : 2011-01-10 11:45 ID:P13NEil0

About a month ago I received a review that said I should turn my fanfic in an original story. The story in question is my Yu-Gi-Oh story called 'In love with the Darkness'. This story's main character is an OC and I had this story finished on several archives where I got very positive reviews. None has ever reviewed saying that the character I created was a mary-sue or anything.

I decided to post the story on as well and this girl reviewed, suggesting that I had to change it into original fiction, because the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom is yaoi dominated.

I was like: Are you sure about it being yaoi dominated? Because I can point out various fanfiction archives where the Yu-Gi-Oh fandom is not. And then what? Does that mean I have to stop writing because I don't write yaoi fics? ;)

22 Name: buggirl101 : 2011-01-19 20:50 ID:EwCaE9zo

Ah, I acually havn't had that many flames or bad reviews. Sad thing is a couple are for one of my most popular stories, Sound of Magic. (Now it is a crossover and I did make Harry Potter somewhat Evil/Dark/whatever you wanna call it. I KNEW I'd get crap for that.)

But there's HUNDREDS of other evil/dark Harry fics so why mine?

Anyway, here's the 'bad' reviews.

"Orochimaru is one charater that I can't picture harry being ... maybe because he is weak and is 'dead' in naurto..." I wrote back clearly staing something that I had ALREADY SAID IN THE FIC!!!

My reply was, "Yes, I am aware of Orochimaru's current state in the Manga. But if you had paid attention I had stated that this fic begins and is currently taking place before the 'Saving Sasuke' arc...before Shippuden even. And thank you for your opinion." XD

"God, Pedo-Oro creeps me out! shudders I would NOT believe he was Harry." My reply, "Yes, Pedo-Oro is creepy...that's why I picked him for the center of this fic. You can believe what you want, but this is a fanfiction now. I could do anything I wanted. Anyway, thank you for the review."

And...that's it. Really. Two revies for the same fic, same words on the reviews too. XD Anyway, I always try to be nice even to spammers/flamers/haters.

23 Name: Renica : 2011-02-10 14:48 ID:Z2HEtW2l

I wrote a Harvest Moon story called "while you were gone" about infidelity resulting in a pregnancy and then later a miscarriage. While I got a few very nice reviews about the story being moving and sad, I got one review that said:
That's why people shouldn't bother having kids. In the end they're just a nusiance each and every way.

24 Name: Felton0Fanatic : 2011-02-11 18:29 ID:z4+cTS5F

I wrote a fic, and got a review saying "Nothing"

Just... Wtf... O.o

25 Name: Sam : 2011-02-12 05:29 ID:+AbnAH3S

I feel kinda lucky that I have never gotten a negative review - which isn't to say that I never deserved one - the my first attempt at a story was not really that great. (but one reviewer said it was the best thing she had ever read in her life)

That said I'm in a slow section where I only get about 3-4 reviews per chapter so I guess that helps.

26 Name: CherryBlossom713 : 2011-02-15 08:47 ID:fBr/Z1tH

"I sense either a.) troll or b.) a fucktard who can't write."

"Holy s.hit. I'm calling troll on this one."

These are some of the first reviews I ever recieved and my first introduction to flammers on fanfic.

The reviewers were for the second story I had written on fanfic and I had been very young at the time and had been heartbroken that someone could be so mean.

There was no reason for it, two other people who reviewed expressed their ideas for "needing work" in more positive manners.

I despise flammers and think they should be kicked off the site. There's a way to go about something, without being an A-hole.

27 Name: HikariNeko : 2011-02-18 16:47 ID:wJA+UbT5

Said I 'sucked and should give up writing.' And if I 'never wrote again, it'd be too soon.' Oh and the anonymous person said that I was 'a poser who no one would ever want to know.'

Pissed. Me. Off.

I ended up getting so pissed of, I wrote a frigging poem about it.
And it was awesome/funny/slightly violent according to my older, more-experienced-in-the-arts friends.

Anyone else think that Anonymous reviewers are kinda cowards when it comes to saying crap with their own penname to another writer, but arrogant and rude when they review anonymously?

28 Name: Noc and NC : 2011-03-04 23:37 ID:ATOP+GDb

"Hmm. This was pretty uneventful."

It isn't actually the worst thing someone has said to me in terms of meanness- they weren't being mean at all. I've only ever gotten a handful of mean reviews. But this comment made me FEEL the worst.

I'm in the middle of focusing on emotional development. There isn't going to be much action- mostly just internal stuff. Its a pretty sleepy arc, I admit. But still, for some reason, that comment really hit me hard. On top of that, I only got one or two more reviews for said chapter, when I normally get at least six. That proved that it was a disappointing chapter to most readers.

Logically I know it doesn't matter, their not going to like everything, but it sure makes me sigh a lot.

29 Name: Dragon's Clan : 2011-03-05 08:29 ID:BkC9gEPW

One of them said "This is a pretty good story line but I find it lacking. You could try giving the charactors more depth and also the story line seems rushed."

Another said "FAIL story is FAIL"

I was like, 'Does it look like I care?' other than that, some of the other anonymous reviewers like some of the stories I've written. So in truth, I'm the one that's on neutral level about anonymous reviewers.

30 Name: Apprentis : 2011-03-06 22:22 ID:pljKX/D/

Well I have only had one bad review that I can recall and it was from someone I know from another site similar to this one. He said that my writting was uninteligent and amatureish in a rather nasty and unpleasent way that I will not repeat here. Needless to say I was very upset. When I told him this he apologiesed and we are still on good terms with one another.

I may or may not have gotten a bad review on one of my latest stories. The final chapter in fact. But I dont know for sure because it is in french. And that is rather annoying as I can not translate it.

31 Name: harry-ron-hermione-fan-101 : 2011-03-07 05:44 ID:3JLudpxT

Some body told me I was full of myself. They put, "You are so full of yourself. Like, "I know they're funny and great, so don't tell me?" You should learn how to write, then come back" or something like that. But the thing was, I had asked the reviewers, "Please don't leave "LOL this is funny" or "aw cute". I know they are, that's why I post them. Please leave CC" or something along those lines.

It was a Percy Jackson fic, "Mother to a Demigod".

32 Name: LilyFragrance : 2011-03-09 20:40 ID:+6VbuCSy

For me, it wasn't exactly something that's horrible, but it was REALLY annoying. I had this reviewer that basically reviewed for EVERY SINGLE chapter, pointing out billions of mistakes (well, not billions, but you get the point). It got to my nerves, as it was all in one day with the eleven chapters I originally had, so I blocked that reviewer from reviewing my fanfics.

33 Name: EternalDreamer : 2011-03-12 17:29 ID:mS9MeH4H

I don't normally get negative reviews, but this one... I think it was negative? I'll explain:

The review was for an ItalyxGermany fic (hetalia) where they fell in love. The review I got was in italian so I couldn't be sure, since I don't speak it, but I think it said something along the lines of 'this is stupid, gay people don't act like this, all canadians should die'. (I'm canadian, by the way.) It was kinda weird, but I didn't mind since google translate probably got it wrong anyway!

34 Name: Tail Kinker◆G7bnjqxQ1g : 2011-03-13 15:26 ID:MEI8wb58

The worst I ever received read merely "Retarded as usual."

I was kind of stunned that someone would post something like that, signed, on So I went and looked at their profile.

Now, the chap that posted it was using a nick that was very similar to another writer's. He also posted a fic that violated almost every part of's TOS. Finally, he loaded down said fic with anonymous "reviews" that praised this perfectly awful, poorly written porno fic. With exactly the same pattern of spelling errors and grammatical errors that plagued the fic itself.

Needless to say, I was not overly broken up by the review. Nor was I shocked to see this used kickbanned from, and all evidence of his ever having existed removed from the site.

35 Name: SoTiredBlah : 2011-03-16 17:08 ID:27yoaQEy

"It's obviously going to be Kaoru/Genta. Every single person in the fandom ships Takeru/Mako, Chiaki/Kotoha and Kaoru/Genta even though NONE of these are canon. You really aren't holding anyone in suspense. As for the story, it's well written enough; but bland, cliche and overall rather implausible"
That's the worst I've gotten, and for sure it got me pissed. Kinda funny though, how he's saying that none of my pairings in my story are canon. Isn't that the whole reason why we write fanfiction? :P
on a side note, his pairings that he likes don't even exist in the same universe. hypocrite? i think so. :)

36 Name: Cassiopeia823 : 2011-03-17 08:57 ID:InLKzfFB

I've been kind of blessed when writing under Cassiopeia823 because Bones and Criminal Minds have some of the most incredibly supportive members I have come across. The worst I've gotten there was the infernal two word day-killer 'mary sue'.
As eternal-lie, and posting in South Park, I've gotten a slightly different response; namely lack of response. And I think that actually hurts more, because they couldn't be bothered to drop a line- they don't even need to sign in, i take annonymous reviews. But that seems to be the way of things in that archive. Only really long stories get much feedback, and I'm not one to stretch out a story to 25 or 50 chapters. I think around 8 is reasonable, and then make a series out of of it so the whole story line is about... 32 chapters, give or take in the end.

37 Name: J.E.McCormickGal : 2011-03-22 15:47 ID:DPpOIvrJ

I have had three flames from two reviewers; twice from one, and once from another. All three were on the same story (Dip Oneshots) and mostly about the pairing being irrational, a breif insult to my intelligence for mild use of Mpreg in a story for plot (I know some people don't like Mpreg, but it was just for the sake of the story, and I don't really think saying I was stupid and pointing out that men can't have babies was nessecary)and the last was simply 'Shaaaaaame', something along the lines.
Though I must say I was severly pissed off when the Mpreg basher, and the same person who went on about 'South Park isn't gay' had an Mpreg-yaoi fic in their favourites.

38 Name: Spellspinner : 2011-03-23 08:56 ID:3isnJDjM

The worst criticism I have received for my poetry was 'Why do you even bother? More vomit from the mouth of a drunkard wannabe poet.' It made me sad more than anything. I stopped writing for a while. Worst thing? From a supposed 'best friend'.

39 Name: Katy133 : 2011-03-23 15:11 ID:kVzs/2jg

An anonymous troll/reviewer once wrote "this story sucks u loser" for one of my stories. Two seconds later, a second review said "haha just kidding. your story's nice." I had both reviews removed.

Another wrote, " :| Why didn't you just come up with your own plot line?" I admit that I used canon for a large amount of the plotline, but I wouldn't say that it's ALL I did. I added a great deal of original story to give it a twist and make it enjoyable to read (otherwise, it would sort of be like reading a script version of the movie/show/etc).

Another thing happened (though, this time I took it more as a compliment than an insult) when I killed off an OC. I got a swarm of reviews for that chapter with reviewers saying that I was evil to do that, and were threatening me to retcon (fix) the OC back to life in the next chapter. I thought it was really nice that they cared so much about that character.

40 Name: AlyssaFelixa : 2011-03-24 10:50 ID:PnebIGJf

A troll once reviewed one of my pieces, it's too disgusting (and long) to post here but he basically rewrote my whole one-shot as something sick. Everyone who reviewed after him told him to get stuffed, and the review was eventually taken down.

I sent him a message telling him what a jerk he was, and somehow it morphed into us having quite a funny chat. Mad world.

41 Name: IrisawaAmaterasu : 2011-03-27 14:19 ID:WepXOsdW

I only got one bad review, the rest were positive.
It was for my first oneshot "Orphans". Since I was new at writing back then, there's this anon who said "This is a piece of Sh**. Go find another hobby rather than writing some shi*** fan fiction." (Yeah, he actually did swear. It's not even censored and I was in grade five back then)
I had that review deleted, but that review was stuck in my head until I got another review saying that the story was really well done.

How is this even a crossover?

Oh wait, lemme guess. Light and L are having mad kawaii buttsex in the bushes. Don't even bother trying to make up an excuse.

Now, learn how to spell. I don't care if this is the internet. You can't spell. GO LEARN. And capalize your words please. That would just be glorious. You aren't Enoby.

sniff people are so mean. and who's Enoby?

44 Name: AkitaFallow : 2011-03-29 22:49 ID:166P2Z1r

>>43 Enoby likely refers to the near-unanimously-proclaimed "worst fanfic ever", My Immortal by Tara Gilesbie. If you truly want to, Google it. There have been hundreds of troll fics written to imitate and mock it.

People are so mean because it's the internet. You're anonymous here (supposedly), and don't have to censor your thoughts before writing them. So people get into the habit of being idiots.

45 Name: Uzuki : 2011-03-30 13:24 ID:7kk77V9w

I haven't really gotten any flaming reviews yet, but I think that's just because I get reviews from the same person every time :\ There was one person who would criticize my work on my first Time Gate story, but it was mostly just positive inputs to how I could make the story better, or just little mistakes that he pointed out (spelling mistakes, grammar mistakes, etc.) I have only one constant reviewer on the second book of Time Gate, which I am currently working on, but he/she is a pretty good reviewer (he/she mostly just writes about what they thought about the chapter).

49 Name: Susu : 2011-04-16 13:52 ID:BiK2PA16

A few days ago I got an anomynous review saying I've written crap, I was sick in my mind and I should lock the part of my mind that wants to write away. But I can't say I'm impressed, it didn't say anything about why or what was so horrible to them and if you review something like this anomynously I can't take you serious. so yeah, that's about it:P

50 Name: Neil Dunsmore : 2011-04-16 16:23 ID:YnIs3F47

This was for a fanfic that I realized years later was actually crap, but nevertheless, I will never forget how rude and non-constructive this guy was:

"Stop wasting my FTP! (Whatever the hell that stands for) I've been reading all of your stories up to this point thinking you'd improve but you haven't! I like the Luffy and Nami pairing too, but this fanfic is ruining that for me! You suck!"

51 Name: TekNam : 2011-04-21 18:44 ID:XDHQ41AZ

I can't remember exactly what the guy said, but an anon reviewer posted something a long time ago on a Negima/Kamen Rider fic i've been writing that basically criticized me on the use of the term "Sentai" in my title, ignorantly claiming i'd used an incorrect term. So what if i used "Sentai (Task Force)" in the title and the first chapter (the only one posted at the time of the review) only had ONE hero? That's when i'd have been like... "Have you ever heard of the phrase "PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE"? Cause apparently you haven't got any. Wait, for Pete's sake, in DUE TIME you'll see why i titled it as such!"

But that's just me...

52 Name: TekNam : 2011-04-21 18:48 ID:XDHQ41AZ

This whole thing of ignorant commenting is just ... strange to me anyway. People who tell you you're writing garbage and then READ EVERY CHAPTER and review each one similarly make me want to say... "If it's THAT bad, WHY DO YOU KEEP READING IT?! Logic would denote that if you don't like it... TURN AWAY AND READ SOMETHING ELSE."

And wait there.

I only got one big flame.

And to be honest, the story was pretty awful and it was pretty obvious my OCs were Mary Sues. But I run under the theory that if you don't like it, you don't have to read it. And constructive criticism is different than a flame.

The dude wrote three paragraphs of my story was awful, unlikely, Sue-ified, and a waste of internet space. He took like every line and pulled it apart in the most condescending tone I've heard to date.

It was pretty unnecessary, but I got over it.

Once, an entire group of people teamed up to flame one of my stories. Albeit, it was pretty bad. Mary Sue, more random singing than highschool musical, and a random death at the end. I was still pretty new to fanfiction, and it was the first story I ever wrote... I sulked about it for a while, read some fanfiction, and completely forgot about it.

I remeber only one person, they gave me a review, that while it wasn't bad nor insulting, it just was very unpleasent because it questioned my plot and the story....which I find insulting, especially since the whole point of the story was sentimentality for a character...but I feel better now that I said it.

The worst flame I ever got was at first from someone who seemed to like my story. The story had warnings in the description that it was slash and incest-- a touchy topic with many readers, obviously, which is why I put warnings in the first place.

This was the series of reviews I got from the person, for my Zack/Cody story...
"omg! i just love you! i am now a huge fan of your stories!"
Next chapter, she wrote:
"OMG! are there anymore Cody and Zack moments?"
Next chapter...:
And lastly:

What annoyed me the most was that the fact that it was a Zack/Cody pairing was advertised in the description of the story... I mean, really people. I don't mind if my writing isn't to your tastes, but could you have the decency to read the warnings, that I placed there just for you, before posting your unwarranted surprise disgust in all caps after eleven chapters?

My worst flame? I never got one... Mainly because I don't write enough and perhaps also due to the fact that most of my stories are non-mainstream fandom/pairings. I mean seriously who would actively search for a Unohana/Suifeng story. I did flame people though...

I mean seriously, not to bash anyone, but is there anyone that really likes mary sues(anyone want to come with me to bash in the head of every mary sue?) and stories that are based around an OC making everything in the story center around them. I mean sure OCs used correctly can add to the overall plot but when the whole fanfic becomes concentrated on them it just plain pisses me off.

I tried writing a fan fic for the Outsiders, it was only my third fic so it wasn't brilliantly written. Plus the historic facts weren't right during that time.
I had gotten so many reviews of how my readers liked it. I felt so proud until this reader went on and on about he was the "actual" Dallas, made me sick. Dallas is just a fictional character not even real!
But besides that he wrote how Dallas would never act the way he did in my fic. Then other ppl tagged along with him (who was actually a her) and made me feel like the worst writer out there. So i deleted the bloody fic, and ppl begged me to post it again, so i did, and that same person came back to harrass i gave up on the fic.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything that SoTiredBlah mentioned: they bash non-canon, but popular ships like the aforementioned Takeru/Mako and Chiaki/Kotoha for being "boring" and non-canon and insist that people should stop writing them for exactly those reasons. Exsqueeze me?

That same "reviewer" gave me similar "reviews" and even implied I was a "Sentai fannit" for the way that I had written one particular character in one of my fics. It shook my confidence a bit and got me pretty steamed, but I forged on. So there.

CherryBerryB, I adore that poem. c: Ahahahaha. Didja write it yourself?

As for my worst flame, I've only experienced a few and it tends to be on my incest fanart. [I believe love has no boundaries. Only society applies those boundaries, but eh...]

Anyway, the flame was something along the line of "i hate you. i wish you would just die." It was on a Phineas and Ferb slash comic I spent days on to watercolour, and it hurt a little. [Then I thought of all the compliments I got instead.]

It helps to be an optimist in any given situation. c:

[The only reason I was upset about that flame was that the user gave me no real critique... If you're gonna insult me at least do it classy. XP]

Some anonymous guy said "You suck at writing, and you'll never amount to anything."

I giggled a little, because with my 4.0 and part-time job, I seem to be going somewhere >.>

katiejuby: Yes. Yes I did.

PaxiPeanut: I giggled, too. Apparently the "anonymous guy" doesn't know who he was referring to :D
