And I know their equally rich best friend!

The natural oil of the beluga sturgeon? Crude from Saudi Arabia? The distilled sweat of Carlos Slim Helú?

Beluga sturgeons are such funny-looking things; I cannot bring myself to harm one. I'm not sure robbing the middle-East of its oil is the most... prudent... course of action.

As for your third suggestion...

That is all.

Yes.

40 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 13:31 ID:q4nYi3V9

If I were in SOLDIER, I would probably still doubt.
If you were Cloud or Vincent...Well that's another story. hehehe... XD

41 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 13:47 ID:mkgCaf3X

Vincent's rather boring, tbh. His appearance, the fangirls and fanservice have combined to give him a 'cool' persona, but he's actually a rather static character who neither does nor says anything particularly interesting over the course of the game. Most of his lines consist of '......' or 'do as you wish'. The one exception to this is where he refers to Hojo as 'a peculiar fellow'.

42 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 14:02 ID:q4nYi3V9

Play Dirge of cerberus. That's when his character comes out. I feel sorry for him...BTB-I've completed Dirge of cerberus over 3 times on normal and twice on hard. (It is such a good game and storyline XP)

43 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 14:13 ID:mkgCaf3X

I've read the script. It's made of fail, fanservice, and more fail.

Which FF is your fav?

45 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 14:26 ID:q4nYi3V9

Final Fantasy, not Fan Fiction.

46 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 14:31 ID:mkgCaf3X

7. That does not include the compilation, though (as only Crisis Core managed to retain some of the charm of the original). You?

47 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 14:36 ID:q4nYi3V9

I think 7 or 10. 10-2 was kinda a let-down. 7 and 10 had great story lines but I like 7 a little bit more. You just forget about the graphics being bad compared to todays and you get so caught up in the story. I like the FF7 Advent Children movie.

48 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 14:47 ID:mkgCaf3X

AC is worth about a six out of ten in my book. Were it not for the graphics, I'd give it a four. The plot is laughable (and a failure in terms of film, as you have to read the Godawful OTWTAS to find the explanations for the plotholes) and you never find yourself wondering WHO will win, just WHEN they will win. Not brilliant in a film that's two thirds battles (and one third ignoring all the character-development that took place in the game)...

49 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 14:53 ID:q4nYi3V9

Yeah, I found it confusing in parts. The plot wasn't that clear and I think the CGI is the best thing about it. I have a feeling that it was made just for the CGI. I think the last battle between Cloud and Sephiroth was the best part of the entire film, since there was a lot of action.

50 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 14:54 ID:mkgCaf3X

FFX always irritated me a little, because it felt like it was trying too hard to be hard-hitting and multilayered ('check out our totally controversial and new thoughts on religion and racism, which are sooo relevant to the world today!') and then said nothing thought-provoking, and dumbed the whole thing down. FF7 had a lot that could be seen on a metaphorical level but, with the exception of the environmental message, it didn't beat the player around the head with it. That said, at least it had...

51 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 14:58 ID:mkgCaf3X

... some charm.

X-2 was just a bit of trashy fun; I got what I expected. The story was awful, the gameplay was fun, and I enjoyed it. It's one of the funnier games in the series, and Rick Gomez voiced Gippal. Not a 'real' FF, but not a bad game.

52 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 14:59 ID:q4nYi3V9

Right now, I'm playing FF12. I stopped playing it months ago, but a few days ago, I felt like playing it again.
On the 9th(my Birthday) I'm getting FF13. Yay! I've wanted it soooo badly.

53 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 15:12 ID:mkgCaf3X

It's not that AC's plot is unclear or confusing; 'what' happens is obvious. The problems come when you try to analyse it and ask 'why?'- characters' motivations are either shrouded in mystery or unbelievable. Then there are all the little things that irritate me- Cloud drives a motorbike from the outskirts of Midgar to the City of The Ancients. I'd love to know how he drove through the sea.

FF13's party aren't a very charismatic bunch, the story is flat, and the villian is boring. Good battle system, ...

54 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 15:17 ID:mkgCaf3X

... though (a better version of X-2's), and the game's not as dull as FF12. It's also extremely pretty, although most of the FMV is airship-porn, so isn't much fun to watch.

One day, Squenix will remember how to make likeable characters again. One day.

55 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 15:28 ID:q4nYi3V9

Maybe the motorbike can float??
I also noticed that when he was chased by Kadaaj & co. at the beginning, he looses a part of his sword. Then later on, he somehow retrieves it, unless he has a stash of them or by some miracle he found it. It is a little overly-dramatic in places.
I liked how they put the battle victory music for Loz's ringtone. It would be such a strange thing to have as a ringtone. Imagine walking down a street when it goes off. You'll get some very wierd looks from people... ¬_¬

56 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 15:33 ID:q4nYi3V9

S.E are saying that FF13 may be the last traditional game of series. They are going to drastically change forms of play in the future.
Good to see them spreading their wings a bit!

57 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 15:33 ID:mkgCaf3X

It's my ringtone. I have yet to receive an odd look because of it.

58 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 15:41 ID:q4nYi3V9

Seriously?
...It might just be my friends then...I just had it on my phone and when they listened to it, they asked 'why the hell have you got that on your phone?'. I said 'cause it sounded catchy'. They gave me strange looks as if I was weird. But they also say I'm weird because I listen to Japanese music, so I don't really care about others opinions about me any more. If I did, then my life would be messed up.

59 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 15:43 ID:mkgCaf3X

Given that the gameplay is one of the only excellent things about FF13 (the other being the graphics), that seems like an act of terminal stupidity. They need to focus on getting their scripts and music back to the standard they used to achieve over ten years ago, and stop churning out substandard products designed to appeal to preteen girls. Gameplay (as far as the battle mechanics go, at any rate) is the least of their worries.

60 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 15:57 ID:q4nYi3V9

I hope they put 9 on for the PS3. I have 8.
The director, Yoshinori Kitase, quit after the completion of 8. I find that a shame, since 1-8 were better than the others.

61 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 16:26 ID:mkgCaf3X

9 was good, too. Necron was silly, but other than that... Anyway, I'd say that the problems with FF really started after Sakaguchi left, not Kitase. When Uematsu left, that was it.

62 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 16:31 ID:q4nYi3V9

>>59Though I am a preteen girl, myself, I completely agree with you. I think they could do a lot better than they are doing and some of the characters...They just seem either too quiet, or dramatic. It's too 'happy' if you know what I mean.
FINAL fantasy. Shouldn't there be like a death of a good guy once on a while? I think that Aerith was the only character that has died that made an impact on the game. FF X-2 was too much of a girl's final fantasy for my liking. I'd rather shoot holes in people or stab them, than searching for a boy and risking my life in order to find him. I've noticed that most of the guys look 'hot' and 'sexy' when they clearly aren't. Same with some of the girls. The clothes they wear are ridiculous sometimes. Like Rikku in FFX-2. All she wears is a mini skirt and a bra-like top. When she goes through the thunder plains, when it is raining and she doesn't seem the least bit bothered about it! I mean, be a bit more realistic!

63 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 16:39 ID:q4nYi3V9

The stories and characters have almost gone down the drain, I'd say. The only things that are appealing to me, now, is the CGI, music, battle systems and the landscapes. They put all that work in for nothing.
If I could choose any final fantasy games out of choice, I would choose 1,4,5,7,7CC,8,9 and possibly 13(since I haven't played it yet)

64 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 16:39 ID:mkgCaf3X

Actually, the issue I have with the games is that they're currently trying TOO hard to be dark and serious, but, at the same time, they're doing it in a very shallow way, and robbing scenes of their emotional impact by trying to keep a low age rating.

There's a scene in FF13 where a side-character dies. She doesn't look remotely injured, however, so it just makes you laugh. With better, more realistic, graphics, blood has somehow become a taboo. Only Crisis Core has an excuse for a lack of in-game...

65 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 16:47 ID:mkgCaf3X

... blood (as this lends the ending extra impact). My point is that if Squenix want to make a 'dark' game, they should do it properly. I like lighthearted FFs like 9 and 10-2; there's nothing wrong with fun in an RPG. It's pretension that irritates me.

The music (other than that composed by the aforementioned Uematsu) is weak these days. Not quite as bad as Persona (or the monstrosity that is the Dark Chronicle soundtrack), but it's bad.

66 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-06 17:11 ID:q4nYi3V9

I have to say, Zack is my favourite character. His personality is the balance between serious and happy. And it made me feel emotional at the end when he died. It was the best ending, I think. The lack of blood in the game sometimes troubles me. 12 is rated a 16, so why isn't there any sign of blood? At the beginning with Reks, he dies and sees dead bodies, but I don't remember seeing much blood... The games are a little too 'clean'.

67 Name: ... : 2010-04-06 17:31 ID:mkgCaf3X

The lack of blood would be fine if it fit the style of the game. I wouldn't expect blood in FF9, for example, but it works well in FF7.

I'd say that FF8 has the best ending, if only because it made me forgive the many faults of the game. The fact that so many side-characters cropped up showed the level of care and attention, and Zell choking on a hotdog (in front of the girl who fancied him) was an amusing touch.

68 Name: tilldeathdouspart789 : 2010-04-07 02:55 ID:q4nYi3V9

I agree.

We were discussing where we bought ties. My rich acquaintance said:

"Harrods".

That is all.

Whats wrong with Harrods? they have very tasty chocolate :)

71 Name: ... : 2010-05-05 15:55 ID:mkgCaf3X

Their ties are about £50. Since your currency is different, to put that into perspective- you would pay about £5 for an everyday tie from an average shop, and less if you went somewhere cheap. £5 is a bit more than the price of an all-day bus ticket, and a bit less than an average paperback novel. £50 is the price of a PS3 game. To pay that much for an everyday tie, possibly SEVERAL everyday ties, and to see that as the norm... Well, it renders me speechless.

72 Name: Shikotei : 2010-06-18 13:07 ID:9+vgqADG

I can imagine worse methods (as in more expensive) to buy a tie. How about ordering from halfway across the globe? :D

But to get this thread back on track:
I consider myself one of the richer ones in my friends' circle, but I can tell you this.. I'd probably care more about money if I had someone to share it with. Happiness has a certain emotional value, money only monetary.

I've changed my mind. No amount of money is worth these creepy emails. I'll exploit my acquaintance's inferiority complex a little (to get my own back; I REALLY don't like creepy emails), and then rob a bank instead.

to Yoshino in the Moonlight, I'm sure for people who understand computers that it's very nice, but frankly, I find it a little confusing.

I think I will continue to submit my stories to fanzines, and once they are a year or two old, post them on-line. If I get the free time to study this website a bit more, I'll be happy to try to discuss fanfic and its various sub-genres, and complain about the fact that 'netfic authors can't/won't proofread. Right now, I've got to go crunch Lt. Ben Krieg.

Adios
