I've been listening to the same old crap forever, so can any recommend any good music?
Open to any suggestions :)
Well, it all depends on which genre you prefer. I'm really on a Skillet kick right now, especially 'Comatose'. Other good bands are Within Temptation, The Fray, Breaking Benjamin and, of course, Nickelback XD
If you like folk music, I can't suggest Show Of Hands enough. You might like it anyway - I never thought I'd like folk 'til I heard them.
If not, maybe try some Within Temptation, like Ariana said. Or Rammstein, if you're in the mood for some German metal!
-Snow Patrol's old stuff: maybe try the album 'Songs For Polarbears'- it's amazing.
-Billy Idol
-You can't go wrong with a bit of David Bowie!
-Mundy
-General Fiasco (a random Irish band that are relatively unknown but have some music up on youtube and itunes- it's good stuff!)
-Bellx1 -in particular, 'Eve, The Apple of My Eye', or 'Rocky Took a Lover'; their lyrics are hard to beat!
I second Snow Patrol.
I'll also be a little biased and suggest Panic! at the Disco :D
It all depends what genre of music you prefer, but i'll list a few down anyways.
'Idlewild' - a little band from scotland, generally dabbling in the alternative genre.
'Foo fighters' - have a good range of both slow and fast songs, everyone knows who foo fighters are ^_^
'Lostprophets' - Alternative/Rock type band, I'm obsessed with them at the moment. (Best albums are Liberation Transmission and Start Something)
And then I can name a few others like Thousand Foot Krutch, Smile Empty Soul, Aerosmith (You've gotta love it), Red, We The Kings, Vampire Weekend and Yellowcard. I just can't be bothered to describe them all XD
Good luck finding new music! It's hard - I've been on the hunt for some new music myself, so I'm gunna chase up all the suggestions on here too.
I see what you mean, but favourite music and recommended music can be different, eg, you can have a favourite song/band simply because it is sentimental to you in some way or it brings back good memories, but you may not necessarily think it is a particularly 'good' song, whereas recommended music is probably more likely to be something 'good', if that makes sense.
Again, I see what you mean, but as an example, some of my favourite music is in the Irish language, and whilst I wouldn't point that out in a favourite music thread as it is not embarrassing, I wouldn't recommend on a thread like this due to the presumption that the original poster does not speak the language. Haha, I don't mean to argue with you, sorry, I just think it is a useful thread.
Ok this'll sound weird but i was thinking about it yestersday- Try listening to Madness- the 80's band. Try searching Our House, House Of Fun, My Girl, Shut Up anything and if you don't like it can you please reply to this so that I can see what is to hate about them because at the mo, I'm really addicted.
Oh and if you do like them- I will love you forever and you can send me a personal email so we can be Fanfic buddies;

nobody is ever FULLY open to suggestions. Need moar info, what do you listen to at the moment? what music do you really dislike? what do you mean by 'same old crap' (names)? if you just say recommend me stuff then you're probably just going to get a load of meaningless names.
music, it's serious business.
Man, can you get any more vague?
Sonata Arctica if you want power metal
Iron Maiden if you want Classic Metal
Bruce Springsteen if you want Rock
David Bowie if you want pop
The first three albums by the Rasmus if you want to be confused.
I LOVE David Bowie! Sorry very random...
i guess i was pretty vague!

Kasabian? there is hope for you yet
I'd say Radiohead definately and you might want to check out Modest Mouse (probably their ealier stuff) The Coral (newer stuff) and possibly Elbow even though I think they're kind of sucky, still some of their stuff is good.
oh yeah and Keane if you're into Snow Patrol kind of stuff, personally I think steamy shit > Jonas Brothers > Snow Patrol but thats just my opinion, enjoy
>>17 Wow, somebody has actually heard of Idlewild? I think you deserve a high five.
How about Stereophonics? Kings of Leon and The Pigeon Detectives you might also like, although you've probably heard of all of those already.
"Jonas Brothers > Snow Patrol"????????? That is shocking!
lol To each his own :)
If you listen to Snow Patrol, I'll agree with >>18, try Keane and Coldplay fit in that genre too. Also try Counting Crows (August and Everything After is brilliant).
Where 'old' music is concerned try The Kinks, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Deacon Blue and The Jam, they're all really good and fit in with the different genres you seem to have picked.
Ooh, and The Temper Trap and The Genuine Articles, the latter aren't at all big, but they're really quite good, look them up on MySpace.
Lili Grace! Two of my friends recently formed that band.

Fragility's hella good. :)
30 seconds to mars. panic! at the disco, All time low and Muse are really good.
