I just browsed through some of the threads and noticed that not many included these types of pairings. Much like my favs: Chris/Wesker(Resident Evil)
Harry/Draco(Harry Potter)
Spock/Kirk(Star Trek)
Edward/Roy(Fullmetal Alchemist)
Kaname/Zero(Vampire Knight)

Only a few, but wondering if there are any fans here that favor the bl side of fanart. ^.^

I don't favour it, but sometimes the male characters in stories are more inrteresting than the female.

I do prefer it actually. Like Shadow said, a lot of the times the male receives a more interesting character than the female. That, and BL is win.

Kehehe... guilty as charged. Russia/Prussia from Hetalia, anyone?

I know this going to be a very stupid question, but in my defense I am naturally blonde so I'm entitled to these stupid question moment, but what exactly do you mean when you say BL? don't hurt me hides behind closest object

>>7 BL = Boy Love c: Homosexual pairings between men~ XD
You have three types, there's shonen/shounen-ai which is a light form, for example: just cuddles, kisses etc...

Yaoi, which is a more... harder version, can usually include sexual acts.

BL is just a general term for them both.

>>1 So by fanart do you mean, like, drawings? Boy loves having boys love? Because I once stumbled across a fair few of those.

Yeah I'm all for it.

Haw haw haw. (= Before everyone starts looking at me like some pervert, I do read a yaoi stories simply because male characters have more coming-to-terms (and are so a more interesting read) than females. (I think it's something to do with stereotype) I read straight and yuri too mind.
But I actually tend to shy away from shounen-ai because half the time it just feels completely out of character. Has anyone else come across this, or am I just being very close minded?

And if you're still looking at me like some pervert I suggest you learn from my mistake and be VERY careful what you ask an image search. ;p

Oh I get now. I've only heard it being called Yoai. Thank you for clearing that up for me. I'm a fan of all yoai/yuri/hentai pairings.

>>10 Of course, some people just call all of it yaoi... which is incorrect, but it happens.

Wow, um-- I exclusively read slash (I've never heard it called BL before either, and I've been reading fanfiction for 7 years... ?). Does that make me a "pervert" too? Het gives me hives.

But! I am much more into the style of slash that tries to make the pairing believable/in character, rather than trying to change the personalities of the characters to make them fit.

In response to PrincessJulius, I used to read Harry/Draco. But these days, when I read in the HP fandom I stick to Harry/Snape. Just a personal preference! What I like the most about it is that it's such a difficult pairing. In order to make it work AND keep the characters true to themselves, you have to do a lot of impressive back-bending. Which means that the good Snarry stories are Really, Really good. They have to be, or they just don't work.

Wow, um... I exclusively read slash (although I've never heard the term BL being used either, and I've been reading fanfiction for seven years. ?) I guess that makes me a pervert too? Haha. Sorry, but most het (with very few exceptions) just gives me hives.

Love BL! I'm more of a crossover fan so things get interesting with the pairings! Harry Potter BL is my favorite!
