It may look like I'm spamming topics now, but this one really got me thinking, and I have done this before.

this mainly applies to people who write series fictions, so I'm gonna say it:

Have you ever thought of making a wiki-like site for information on your stories?

I've put some information up on Fanon wiki before, but I'm talking about a dedicated site, since wikis are pretty much free to make.

>>2 No, I mean like, for information on your characters, or aspects of your story. Is fanhistory still active? Are they still updating?

are you talking about a wikipage about original characters and fan pairings??

Kind of sort of. Let me explain: I have been writing for many years and a simple set of stories developed into a world I hope to utilize. A fictional location such as a city or a planet that wasn't in the original work I explain, and an item, or a weapon that they would use is expanded on. This primarily works with OCs. Here's an example of pages that I wrote:

http://halofanon.wikia.com/wiki/Talahan_V
http://halofanon.wikia.com/wiki/Thyris_II
http://fanon.wikia.com/wiki/Christopher_James_Vennettilli
http://fanon.wikia.com/wiki/Ryan_Liam_Percy

So yes in a sense, a page that describes OCs or even pairings.

That kind of wiki? I've seen... a few. But I am a little peeved off that it allows for the creation of Mary Sue and OoCness, at least from the ones I see. I think it is better to have one page per person. Actually, I am using my live journal account to try and make a good list of my fanfics. I would need help on the fanhistory one. It's not easy.

>>3 - Yes, it is sort of still running. Thing is, it really needs a revamp. I personally hate all the links on the page the way that they are. The only way to edit is by html.

that's actually an okay idea, I've never thought of doing something like that.

I've vaguely considered doing it (or something like it) for the big fic I've been working on lately and making into a doujin. It has a pretty big cast of OCs among the CCs and the backdrop is a major event, complete with world politics and blah-de-blah, and, hell, the first chapter kind of reads like a Wikipedia article. But, I decided I didn't care enough to do it; I might change my mind after getting farther into the doujin and it gets particularly popular, but I doubt it.

I did something similar, though, for another fic; I made a forum on FFnet and posted about some major OCs and new alien races that I made for a long-running DBZ fic of mine. That fic ended a while ago, and the writing was really "meh", so I don't advise reading it. The reason I made the topics was for 2 reasons that came from that: 1. My readers kept asking questions and getting confused, and if I kept answering them all in A/Ns, it'd overtake the actual story. 2. Because I kept getting confused between the two races I created (I made their names similar, stupid me) and would frequently accidentally write one instead of the other for a few chapters, so I wanted to straighten myself out.

>>9 - I am at the point I need to do that, simply due to how many fanfics I have. But as I've said before, I don't think I will be able to do it on my own. I got my LJ account that I tried using and then some free website. It's going to take a lot of time.

I did this for my KKM series of stories in response to fan requests for reference material on my OC's. Also, I have other non-story material to back up the stories - detailed summaries and illustrations, mostly. Scratchpad.wikia let me make a wiki for free:

I dunno that it's gotten much traffic. Was fun to write until it wasn't, and then I stopped. ;)

There is a good one for an OC centered One Piece fanfiction called One Piece: New Nakama. The story is good and i am not only dsaying this because he accepted my character in it (she isn't even there yet) i think that this is an interesting idea though.

I created a page at freewebs. It took me a while to figure out how everything works, but now I think my page it pretty good.
