Okay cause I'm so into Doctor Who at the moment, I also found Torchwood. I love Jack and he is gay. grins No offense meant, but this fandom on English television is just wow, cause I never thought they would make something like this in the UK, or show it for that matter. It's nothing graphic, but still Jack and Ianto getting it on in his office, they are so hot together. I'll have to say, they aren't afraid to show this on television, hopefully the US will follow one day.

Mmhmm first slash fandom I saw on English television.

Jack is actually Bi, but yeah. love Torchwood so so much! ;)

I know, it's great to actually have an M/M pairing in Britian, but (this might be seen as a spoiler) it was SOOOOO sad when Ianto died :'(

Jack is actually omnisexual. As is everybody on the Torchwood team except for possibly Ianto (who is at least bisexual).

It was sad when he died, but at least they made Jack properly grieve and run away. Means we'll get him in DW before he returns to Torchwood for the fourth season. And it's not like the fanbase will ever forget Ianto, is it? ^^

(I don't rember Gwen or Owen being omnisexual. I'm pretty sure they were straight while Jack, Ianto and Tosh where all bi.)

Yes, it's amazing! My whole family loves Torchwood but they were all ewwing at Jack and Ianto kissing while I was grinning in my mind. They don't know of my yaoi obsession but it was funny when they were asking me how I could watch it.

My Mum is addicted to Jack/Ianto, which is a little eww but also kinda cool. The show is great fun if a little silly at times.

Yeah this series has been really good for getting homosexuality into what's acceptable in the mainstream, since it's a Doctor Who spinoff, and DW is practically a Brittish institution.

(Russell T Davies also concieved Queer as Folk way back when. Does it show? ;D)

Torchwood makes me kinda proud to be Welsh.

I thought Tosh was het (was there an episode I'm forgetting with her and a woman?), and Owen was clearly suggested to be bi (we only ever saw him in bed with women, but there were several times guys came on to him and he seemed to be going along with it)?

Anyone want to help me with my Torchwood/superhero x-over?

>>7 Yeah Tosh got it on with a female alien lol. And I must've forgotten about Owen doing that.

Haha, English TV rocks and now you all know it :)

Jack - obviously omni. It's known canon.
Gwen - men (Rhys, Jack), women (Carys in 'Day One'), aliens (same)
Owen - men and women (during 'Everything Changes', we see him chat up a woman and then VOLUNTARILY make it a threesome with her boyfriend, with the help of alien pick-up spray - thus technically also making him a date rapist). I don't think he's had a sexual encounter with an alien (that I remember), but I'm fairly sure he would have been up for it.
Tosh - men (obviously, Owen), women (when she first has seemingly sexual thoughts about Mary in 'Greeks Bearing Gifts'), aliens (she later sleeps with Mary after discovering her to be an alien.
Ianto - men (Jack, obv.), women (Lisa, also obv.), but no obvious sexual tendencies towards aliens.

I don't remember why I thought Owen was omni. It'll come back to me.

But yeah. Torchwood has no heterosexual members. xD

lol That's what we get for having Russel T Davies as the writer, he has to insert some homosexuality. Please don't ever stop writing for Torchwood or Doctor Who Russel!

Russell T Davies is leaving Doctor Who at the end of 2009. But he's sticking with Torchwood and the Sarah Jane Adventures, because he created them.
Still, go RTD for homosexuality in British TV!! And canon at that!

Torchwood has finished for good :( not fair! I thought it was better than Doctor Who... Sorry if that offends anyone

>>13 No, it hasn't. They've already signed up John Barrowman for Season Four.

15 Name: E-chu : 2009-12-10 13:40 ID:T5S0DRJW

I heard Russell T Davies has the next couple of series planned out already. squeee!

And wow!! I love the M/M pairings in Torchwood - my family moaned and complained so much when they kissed (they're all huge homophobes ¬_¬) and I was just like 'shut up, I'm trying to watch the love!', though in my head of course.

Would it be too much to ask for to have some JackXDoctor in the Christmas special? That would be the best Christmas gift ever...

>>15 Get what you mean about the parents being squicked by m/m.

I'm not sure about Jack/Doctor. Yeah, I ship it, but don't you think it's a bit soon after Ianto? D= If they made it really obviously a rebound, then I'd be all for it.

>>15 No, I wish! Apparently Doctor Who is getting really dark in David Tennant's last episodes. So, I think Jack will be there for an entirely ulterior motive... :(
Still, it's definitely too soon after Ianto. It would cheapen their whole relationship.

Did anyone see the David Tennant/John Barrowman kiss on YouTube? I think it's still up there, so that should keep everyone on this thread squeeing till Christmas!

X-mas gift from me XD.

I love how he goes all fan-boy!

Yeah, I was thinking it was too soon, but... that's the wonderfull thing about time travel! The Doctor could just go, say, a hundred years forward... or back for that matter. Or even better, he could go save Ianto, Jack kisses him from gratitude and then he and Ianto can get together. ^_^

Not that that would ever or should ever happen - gratuitously bringing characters back from the dead would just be trashy.

Still, isn't it strange how, aside from when the plot needs it, Jack seems to live a linear life? Surely if he's immortal, the Doctor would have a high probability of running into his past and future selves... though I guess he does meet the Face of Boe twice but even then, why never any stage in between FoB and present Jack...? I can tell I'm thinking too much here.

Oh yeah, and I saw the clip!! For some reason it's all the more cuter because it's David Tennant who initiates it... Kyaa!

Let's face it, Doctor Who never actually gets "dark" it just tries to be as much as it can without hundreds of angry parents writing in to complain. But still, I love DT <3

Good god I love Janto!! I have seen John B twice and he waved at me!! It was the best day ever! I watched the most recent series, and blubbed like a baby!

22 Name: Crusnik02 : 2009-12-15 14:13 ID:f00q+BoI

The only pairings I can manage in Torchwood are Janto and OwenxTosh. Don't put Gwen with anyone, she's an annoying bitch.
But honestly, how many people like Gwen? She keeps trying to steal Jack from Ianto! And when that doesn't work, she tries to steal Owen from Tosh! I mean, WTF?

Still, rantings aside. They should TOTALLY bring back Ianto. We should make a petition!

23 Name: LawleyPop024 : 2009-12-18 09:28 ID:qYqYe37Z

Ahh, Torchwood. So lovely. And, considering I'm English, I get to watch it all the time! Suck on that!

Met John B, Gareth D-L and Eve M before, and going to see them again in April! Really love my aunt Sarah, she gets me hooked on the best things, LOL!

Ianto should soooooo be brought back! But, not in a really tacky way, like Rose was in DW (sorry to anyone who likes her!).

Also, if it helps, Jack goes for anything that moves. And I agree with AB-chan about Gwen. Rhys is too good for her.

When Janto first became canon in the last episode of season one, in season two, episode not remembered, you see Gwen trying to seduce Jack. The he finds her engagement ring.

Also, she had an affair with Owen, while she was with Rhys. She's basically a slut!

Now, if you'll excuse me, my mum wants me to do all the works she's too lazy to do. CHILD LABOUR!!

I love Torchwood!

I know what everyone means about Gwen but Rhys loves her... There has to be a way of getting rid of her without hurting him because he is just adorable.
Janto forever though, I'll never understand Gwack... Even the name is laughable!

I heard that one of the team died in series 3 before I actually saw it and my mum overheard me talking to my friend about how she was crying when she heard it, my mum thought that Gwen had died. No one I know would cry if Gwen died!

My mum didn't like Ianto though! I only found out that she was a homophobe when my sister and I were talking about Torchwood because she told us that Ianto was 'creepy'!?!?! And no one could possibly guess the reason for her homophobia:
"Don't you know how the Roman empire fell? It was because of the new sexualities and pleasure for pleasure's sake."
Completely straightfaced serious! The only explanation I can find for this is that she went to a Catholic school run by nuns... (no offense to catholic people out there!)
But what version of history is that?!?!?!

I think they should make like an alternate ending where Gwen dies and the two guys feel sad but then soon there all happy to still be alive. The way COE was written well... there was just something that stuck out and wasn't right because after day 4 Jack killed his grandson and surely if you had just lost a loved one you wouldn't kill another? If you've ever heard the radio episode- The Dead Line you'd think this was weird as well because jack reassures Ianto that the means a lot to him... It just confuses me why Russel T Davies would get rid of another main character even after Tosh AND Owen going just a season ago. Looks like there wont be a 4th season because he'd probably kill off the entire cast.

Also In the christmas special of doctor who- i actually think they got Jack's character right because he is still sad and his expression kind of shows it and then he is sort of like the old Jack (His usual flirty self) but its kind of dimmed. It might be just wishful thinking but thats my opinion.

Seriously Janto= AMAZING!
