Okay a little late, cause it started today. But who is doing NaNo? I am, it's gonna be an original story.

>>7 i haven't really had any thing typed up, i do have a little written out but i like challenges. i love writing and i love chalenges, i'm weird. i'm probably the only person who likes to be way behind and come to the top out of no where. this is going to be the greatest thing to do for me.
like i said i'm really weird. ^^

I'm in, and on target after two days! I guess it's all downhill from here!

And as for the story, abvamp - I presume you mean original as opposed to fanfic, and fee - fanfic is allowed, apparently!

10 Name: abvamp : 2009-11-03 07:06 ID:7mlsuPwV

@Fee. Nope you can do both actually. Fanfiction or original.

@Marymagdalen. Yep, the first time, I didn't make it back then, I did a crossover fanfic. Now I got this original story in my head for a while, hope I'll make it this time. headdesk

And for a part I blame my friend, she got me hooked on original stories, kinda. grins

smiles My wife and I are participating together. I give the ideas and she writes all of them out before I beta them. It's not like we're both writing 25,000 and then put our pieces together.

13 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-04 08:04 ID:QHhuLc60

anyone want to share what they're writing about?

i am finanly writing a story that i've kept in my head for years. it's about twins that are really powerful and are split up in the real world. they wind up back in their world and have to save not only their world but the real world and their friends and family. it doesn't sound all that good, but i suck doing the summery, any way. any one else want to share what they're doing?

14 Name: Fee : 2009-11-04 08:59 ID:mU/K3kZX

@ 9 and 10 - yeah, but fanfic kind of comes under that in my head. I think. I don't know...I think I confused myself :S

15 Name: Bola : 2009-11-04 13:18 ID:Xabi0Jtt

Oh, we're writing about how we met each other on FF.net. There's a constant switch between reality - description of things we really have been through eve rsince - and dreams - things we often dream about like having a baby or something. In the end dreams and reality are coming together ) dreams become reality all of a sudden sudden. :)

Hah, I'm happy that so many people are doing it! :D
I've already got 8,000 words (more or less), and I started the morning of November 1st. I'm so excited!!
Here, let me give you the synopsis:
Synopsis: The Mind Machine

The story occurs in modern days. Nara Bellamy is the Annan family's servant. To be more precise, she is Lee Annan's, the eldest son, personal servant. Somehow, over many years, Lee and Nara have fallen into deep love with each other.
Lee's uncle, Colter Annan, lives with Blake Annan, Lee's father, and his family. Or rather, he lives in their attic, and barely comes down. Food is brought up, and he only comes down if he is in need of something for his experiments. Colter, indeed, is a scientist. He experiments with a wide variety of things. And lately, he's taken to using Nara as a guinea pig, not letting the family know, and forbidding her to ever tell anyone.
His latest invention, which he calls the Mind Machine, will bring much misery to Nara, bringing her into the depths of her mind, and propelling her into a horror story created by her brain.
Who knows what will happen to her while she is unaware of her surroundings. And who knows what the aftermaths will be? What would Lee think of his uncle if he discovered his doings? And how will Nara react to the hate and death that her mind harbor, deep in the darkness of her brain?

Sorry, it's kinda long. Tell me if you think you'd like it? :D

I haven't told anyone my plotline. Not even my best friend who's doing Nano. (and that's not for lack of her trying.)

So, what the hell. My basic plotline is a girl that runs away from home. Yes, I am indeed the queen of originality. She ends up all over the show, and frankly that's as much as I know. I haven't a plan, I've written to where my original idea took me...that's how I roll ;)

Back on track today - wrote 4k in an hour and a half to hit 10k. :D

23 Name: Kiliro : 2009-11-07 10:34 ID:zyfn0EO7

Woah... That's a lot!! I wish I could write that fast...
Well, I kinda could, but I just can't, 'cause at some point I can't be bothered to write anymore, and I have to stop and take a break. -shrugs- And I usually don't have such a detailed plot line, but I decided to have one for this, just to make sure I have enough material for 50K, 'cause otherwise I'd have a great story, and it'd be finished in about 10-15K, and that wouldn't have worked, except if I'd done like some people: write 4-5 stories for NaNo so the total is 50K... But I decided against it. :D

24 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-08 11:07 ID:QHhuLc60

I have written 18,242 words and have hit a wall. Has anyone else had writers block or am I the only one that has a brain that wants to go on vacation?

25 Name: mabel_marsters : 2009-11-08 11:38 ID:DwlZr3Mk

Hi I'm doing NaNo - my second year. I'm a bit behind schedule wordwise but sure I'll catch up.

26 Name: Bola : 2009-11-08 13:37 ID:P9ijZyl1

We're around 15,000 words here, and yes, we're stuck as well.

27 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-08 13:45 ID:QHhuLc60

i know where i want the story to go but it's like me mind doesnt want to conect it to where i am now. it's very frustrating.

>>26 i hope you two can get moving in your story again.

29 Name: Fee : 2009-11-11 10:38 ID:mU/K3kZX

My brain and my free time have refused to make any semblance of a connection. As a consequence, I'm going to be 4k behind tomorrow. No time tonight either :(

Anyone who even tries NaNo has my utmost admiration - it's a massive challenge andj one I've never even thought about attempting. Kudos to you participants!

34 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-20 20:17 ID:uBOzmXxz

>>31 i've got the same problem..... i'm supposed to have 33333 today but only have 22408. it's killing me that i'm so far behind.
first i had a block then i had the flu, something really doesn't want me to get this done in time.

35 Name: Marth : 2009-11-21 01:03 ID:kJjHPEtJ

I made it to 40000 words today, a few days ahead of schedule. I feel so accomplished! Nonetheless, it'll be nice when December roles around so I can get a reasonable amount of sleep again.

36 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-21 02:11 ID:uBOzmXxz

>>35 congrats! i started out great like that and now i'm really behind. who ever can write like that... i can't even explain how great that is. and i can't wait til december either. i stay up all night writing and try to power through as much of the day and write as much as i can before i sleep.
the craziest thing i have ever done in my life is take on NaNo and think that i could pull it off no problem at all.

37 Name: Fee : 2009-11-21 13:27 ID:mU/K3kZX

>>35 Well done you!

38 Name: Bola : 2009-11-22 07:22 ID:xR7o5s7h

Heh. We're finally over 42,000! We're hoping to get 45,000 by the end of today and then add around 5,000 more before Wednesday. My wife's panicking, because she doesn't think she's going to make it... LOL To all you NaNoWriMo writers out there: don't give up! You have worked so hard already! I'm aware that it's more easily said than done, but try keep calm and the ideas will start flowing again. Just keep in mind that you have tried and that just because you perhaps did not make it in a month's time, you don't necessarily have to discard the whole thing. You can finish it later. It's not given to every good writer to work fast. I'm keeping my thumbs up for all of you! Come on, a last effort for the last week to write!

39 Name: Bola : 2009-11-23 12:20 ID:Xabi0Jtt

>>39 great job!! i wish i could get mine done.

i don't know if i'm going to make it. i'm at 33,492 words, close but i don't know. guess we'll have to see.

42 Name: Bola : 2009-11-25 15:10 ID:P9ijZyl1

Thanks. Well, I have seen a girl who had over 104,000... I'm not quite as crazy. I think it was already nice to get over 50,000 the first year participating.

@ Kiliro: Well, it doesn't mean you cannot finish it after November and still maje it a great novel!
@ innlover90: Come on! You are more than halfway! Don't give up! Keeping my thumbs up for you!

43 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-25 15:53 ID:fSm3mlwZ

>>42 thanks! the thumbs up did the job! i was up writing since about eleven o'clock last night and i am about to crash. i wanted to get everything i could get done before i slept for god knows how long. i was really pushing and fighting my self to stay concentrated. i have gone fro. 33,492 word and now as i fall asleep writing i have made it to 47,577 words.
i'm gonna try to write more before i sleep but i figure a couple thousand words off with five days left.... i'm in good shape (better than i thought).

thanks for the thumbs!!

44 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-25 18:55 ID:fSm3mlwZ

i had read that December was like a month to edit.... is that true and how does that work out if you can't upload anymore?

sorry, i'm really new at this.

47 Name: James : 2009-11-30 15:52 ID:XT+hLK7n

Iiiii did NaNo, with an original story. Although it needs a fair bit of going over, because I missed out chapters here and there to meet the wordcount goal. Kateness has over 700k - crazy, no?

@inulover90: November is for the first draft, and you 'win' if you pass 50k words. December is a time to go back and perfect it, or make it longer, or whatever you want to do - think of it as preparation to get it printed with CreateSpace, or even submitted for publishing, if you want to take that route.

You need to have passed 50k in November to win, but you can still work on your writing afterwards - it just won't count towards the 50k goal.

48 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-30 16:18 ID:IuJRwN6U

>>47 okay so even after midnight tonight i can still add to my story, not just go back and fix things, right?
i just want to make sure i have it right because i am almost to where i want to end the story but u have been up for well over 24 hours and would really like some sleep, lol.

Thanks and congrats on your story!!!!

49 Name: inulover90 : 2009-11-30 22:19 ID:Cd1qTc2R

was any one like me and try to slip in the very last word count at about 11:59 and about 55 seconds?

i was trying to actually finish the story, just to see if i could and yeah, it was very stressful when my browser just sat saying loading and i didn't know if it actually took the count in time. but i got it all in and i finish my book in a flash. it's good to know how to type really fast when you need to,lol.

50 Name: James : 2009-12-01 10:12 ID:XT+hLK7n

I stopped about a week ago to take a break before going back to it. ^_^

Never been able to type as fast as I want - it's really rare for me to get more than 2-3k words done in an hour.

51 Name: Fee : 2009-12-04 09:09 ID:mU/K3kZX

So, did anyone else surprise themselves this year? Manage last year's wordcount a stupid number of times (16.3 for me)? I know I massively surpised myself, because it got to being about 10k behind and just totally snowed under and then won, so all was nice. Ish.

52 Name: inulover90 : 2009-12-04 11:25 ID:567tbQ++

i was the same. i had writers block then i got the flu and i tried to get moving again but i just couldn't get it in gear. i saw i had a few days left and knew i had to get moving, i never thought i would have pulled through with as many word as i did. i really thought i was ten feet under, but i pulled through with over 8,000 more wards than i needed.

Zombie thread wants brains!

So, who here's doing NaNo THIS year?

54 Name: Yemi Hikari : 2010-11-05 15:41 ID:VCP6U1Kz

Me! Me! Happy is, as Happy does!

55 Name: BriiDream : 2010-11-09 15:41 ID:H9xKtM9X

I'm doing NaNo, although I am far behind...
It's a Young Adult featuring the POVs of an asexual Christian teen, a foster kid dealing with identity issues, and a schizophrenic girl.

56 Name: Marth : 2010-11-10 09:27 ID:WlJAhpcK

What are you guys' usernames? I'm on there as sakuuya.

57 Name: Aver : 2010-11-10 13:02 ID:iBOhjQuP

Oh yes, I'm NaNo-ing too - I changed the link in my username from my website to my profile so you can click if you're interested. I write an hour every day and I usually get twenty-two hundred words if I don't have my day; twenty-seven hundred if I do. My story's a Love Actually-ish story with six different plotlines, sometimes crossing over, but the plotlines in my story have even stronger relations between them. Anyways, I really do like writing it, although I fear I may have made my story a little too big. Ah, well.
I'm way ahead of schedule, by the way - currently I've passed the 25000 words. How much do you guys write in an hour?
