Evangelion Crossover Ideas (12)

There has been a few ideas rattling around in that empty head of mine for quite a while now.

Unfortunately, I'm not a writer.

Never have been, never will be.

But maybe someone who is can take these ideas and make some really good fics out them.

The stuff I've thought up are, what I like to call, "Slight Crossovers". (I don't know if there's any real name for them or not.) It's where you take characters from one anime and put into another, personalitys intact and pasts slightly altered.

My ideas all revolve around a single premise: Take a more "lighthearted" anime and stick Evangelion characters into it.

What I mean is: Take Shinji, Asuka, Gendo and maybe Misato and a few others(depending on the story), alter their "backstorys" a bit(ie: No Angels, no Eva's, no Nerv, etc, to better fit the new world they're in)and put them in a more lighthearted world and see how its' characters react to them.

Think about it... Think of the possibilities...

Evangelion/Azumanga Daioh, Evangelion/Ouran High School Host Club, Evangelion/Ranma 1/2, Evangelion/Love Hina...

How about Evangelion/Lucky Star?

Can you imagine how Konata, Kagami, Tsukasa, Miyuki and the rest of the characters would react/interact/deal with someone as shy, timed, introverted and completely F'ed up as Shinji Ikari?

Someone as loud, aggressive, extroverted and just as equally F'ed up as Asuka Langley Soryu?

Someone as cold, cruel, manipulate and just down right evil as Gendo Ikari?

...gives me chills just thinking about it...

Anyway, tell me what you guys think and if any of you want to make a story out of any of them(EVA/LS maybe?), go right ahead. You have my permission to do whatever you want with any of my ideas as long as I get accredited in a author's note or something.

Oh, and if it isn't too much trouble, could you make it Shinji/Asuka? That's my favorite pairing. S/A 4 EVA!

Ps: Weird thought I had while writing this...

Staring contest...

Konata Izumi... Gendo Ikari...

Who'd win?

Doesn't anybody have anything to say?

Apparently not.

You'll probably have better luck asking in an Evangelion Forum.

There has to be a few "Eva" fans here. I really want your opinions on my ideas.

Are they good? Are they bad? Are they weird?

Well...okay, even I'LL admit Evangelion/Lucky Star is a little...different.

Okay, okay! It's down right bizarre!

Still, I'd like to know what you guy think of them.

Or, maybe not, since this is not exactly the most active forum ever. Perhaps there will be when this forum is more active, but it does not seem like it for now.

Aren't there already like three or four official Eva high-school-AU series? You could look into one of those.

One of the most (in)famous sort-of-crossovers out there is simply entitled 'Shinji and Warhammer 40,000', in which everyone's favourite spineless mecha pilot takes up tabletop wargaming, of all things. It starts off slow, and has a few pacing issues, but gets steadily more batshit insane from there, until eventually you are encountering Space Marine mercenaries, cyborg dinosaurs, and Tibetan monks with lightsabres. I kid you not.

Available here, but as mentioned, it's an extremely long story that takes a little while to get going. Once it does, though... hold on tight.

Another, more direct crossover is 'Thousand Shinji', again, combining the same two fictional universes, which makes up for its manipulative, decidedly Sueish protagonist by introducing some decent character development and letting his schemes go horribly wrong. Given how dark it gets, the humour's nice, too. That said, the sequel, 'The Open Door', irritated me to the point where I decided to write my own version, which is now at 35 chapters and 150,000 words. So... yeah.

The last one is more of a treatise on crossovers (and other things) - the short but extremely funny 'How Not to Write Evangelion Fanfics'. Particulary amusing when viewed in the context of the prior stories mentioned here.
