Does anyone get incredibly bothered when someone makes obvious and multiple grammatical errors? Call me an English teacher, but it really gets on my nerves.
Or am I the only one... -_-'

As I believe I have said before, trying to write a story without a basic grasp of spelling and grammar is like trying to cook a three-course Sunday roast without any idea of how to operate an oven.

In other words, somewhat inadvisable.

It bothers me when some one it writing a story like Harry Potter and spell the names wrong like Malfuy or Slitherin

I don't mind them to much, in fact I find them rather amusing at times. I believe I noticed one so bad I almost fell out of my chair.

but if I had to choose one, I would be the addition of "..." to the end of every sentence just to make it look more dramatic. No that's not what it means, why does everybody think that it is!?

I don't know that I have any one specific thing, but I really hate when you're reading a story and you can tell the person hasn't even run a spell check on it. Y'know, 'nad' instead of 'and', or forgetting periods at the end of sentences, and so on. That really drives me crazy.

it annoys the crap out of me when someone spells Grimmjaw instead of Grimmjow..I mean if you hear it like that okay..but you can read everywhere it's written as Grimmjow. just cases like this really

I try to have sympathy for people with bad spelling or people who mess up their homonyms and stuff. But, like Goddess said, when it's obvious they didn't even spellcheck, it's pretty depressing. I type really fast, so I often miss little things and fly right over them. So, I always feel like I have no room to talk. But, then again. That's why Beta Readers are so very helpful. ;o;

As for my personal pet peeves.
Well, the biggest one would be no double spacing between paragraphs (like, there is not way to distinguish paragraphs because there are no indentations or double spacing). It doesn't matter how great a story sounds, if all the paragraphs have been run together like that, I instantly click out of it and kind of wish I could take my hit back. I don't even really want them to get that stat on their story.

Other than that, people who are writing yummy steamy stories, have this really awesome in depth foreplay, and this rush through the sex with as little description and action as possible and then drag out the after glow. I'm always like, "Wow, you have just revealed to me that you are fourteen years old. I feel dirty."

I'll be the first to admit, I'm a grammar-nazi. I can take little slip ups here and there, but when your have to try and decipher what they've written, I click out. That and extreme OOC-ness when it's not a crack-fic.

Thank you for the long-awaited proof that the Nazis performed in plays in Ancient Greece.

Well, there's a lot. I hate cluttered paragraphs. Even a wonderful story does not compensate for that. I don't have best grammar ever (hence that statement that was just, well, stated) but it's really annoying to read stories with no spell-check at all.

What i find myself hating most is when people start something they can't finish. They put a chapter or two of something decent, or at least has a really good plot or idea, and they never return. (what no more? But-but... The last time you updated was two years ago? .....-_-)
Also when people repeat things over like we're a bunch of idiots, as well as people writing things like PWP and they're way too young, and when the story gets too complicated.

>>7 Sorry, but the last comment about the rushed sex scene really made me laugh. I totally agree with you.
