So, wouldn't it be great to have an event in Alberta for fan-art and fan-comics?

Well, in order to have an event, we need to pick a time and place for it to happen.

So, for the event, when do you think we should all meet? What time/date would be good for the meeting?

Well, I live in Calgary. I think Edmonton would probably be a good place since it's the capital city, but I don't know. I think it would be great! As for the date, late june, maybe July. Lots of people have exams and work.

I live in Calgary too, but it's hard for me to travel since I don't drive yet. And I'm kinda tight on expenses... If anyone's got a solution, let's hear it!

Maybe it could be on tour, like take to one city for a week, bring it to another city for another week or whatever.

Even if it will be in different places each time, we still have to decide when the first meeting will be.

Well since reading how many are from Alberta so far, you could start the tour in Edmonton and make your way to Calgary since so far, those two seem to get the most responses. :P

I'm in Calgary, so Calgary is good for me :)

Funny, I'm right outside Edmonton. But I kinda like that tour idea. Though then it'd have to include the smaller cities too, not just places like Edmonton, Jasper, etc. For example, the city I live in (not sure if I should give the name of it though ^^;)

The touring would be fun. But you would kind of have to advertise right? So everyone know when it'll be? And then you'd have to find a meeting place too. In a way would it be like a meet-up? Like the cosplay ones except not cosplay?

I think it is going to be treated like a meet-up thing.

If anyone's interested in anime, there's actually an anime-specific event called "Otafest" here in Calgary on May 20-22 I think that I'll be going to. I wasn't sure if I should advertise it or not, but hey, just letting you know where if you're interested and want to chat. LOL

I live outside of Edmonton, and it'd be pretty cool to do something like this. I wouldn't be able to do the tour, only go to whatever location is by Edmonton...
and like Otafest, there's Animethon here....

>>11 I know this is off-topic, but I would love to go to Animethon if I wasn't so limited on travelling options. :|

I think that most people aren't able travel much, therefore "touring" isn't really much of an option - therefore, I think we should have separate events in both Edmonton and Calgary.

I have to agree with Anonymous; I haven't got much time or money for travel. Edmonton and Calgary seem to be good places to meet. Are there any other places where it would be convinient to meet?

Mommoncandie, where is that Otafest taking place? Is there a link about it?

>>15 It always takes place in the sciences area at the University of Calgary.

Here's the link: http://otafest.com/
