Perhaps we could get a group started in Boston eventually - how many people near Boston as of now?
And, when (and where) do you people think we could meet to get this group started?
A public library around that area would probably work.
I would love to join a group like this. Where in Boston would this be held?
Also, what fandoms would we draw for?
>>4
I think this has been said to several people before, but perhaps it would be good to mention this to everyone:
I think that fandoms could rotate each time for each new fan-comic. Even if not everybody is familiar with the same fandoms, it could be a good opportunity learn about new shows/books/anime/movies/etc., right? It would probably be about the most common fandom at first, but perhaps each new fan-comic could be about a different fandom each time, to give each person's fandom a chance, so that perhaps eventually, everybody is familiar with everybody else's fandoms - how does that sound?
Hi,
The Public Library sounds like a good place to meet. as for fandoms, what's everyone up for? also, when are people free?
I'm available almost every saturday. Which Public Library would it be?
I'm available almost every saturday. Which Public Library would it be?
The only Saturday in January I can think of right now is the 15th, but I think the 29th might work too.
I like the 29th. I think the library at the Copley stop might be easiest for everyone to get to, since it's right on a T stop.
Does anyone want to shoot out some fandom ideas that we might like to work on? I'm personally on a Darkwing Duck swing right now but whatever anyone wants to suggest. :)
Which library is on the Copley stop? And which line is copley on?
So a Saturday ya?
The Copley Boston Public Library:
~Green Line: Copley Station
~Orange Line: Back Bay/South End Station and walk down Dartmouth st.
~MBTA: 9,10,39,55,503,502
And let's move smoothly into fandom topics :]
I have no clue when I am available. between work and school, I'm busy. so i will have to see. im from the city so the copley square library would work.
oh okay, thank you.
So...any fandoms in mind?
I guess we could start with something more popular for our first project, then later on we could try some more obscure fandoms.
Oh,
Just to clear thing up; is Jan.29th (saturday) a good time to meet up?
Jan. 29th is good for me, what time do you think would be best for everyone?

probably late afternoon (1-3 pm) to get lunch outta the way; a lunch meeting for the first day seems a bit too hecktic and idea...
yeah definetely. How would we know who we are meeting up with though? I mean we could sit in the library for hours at tables right next to each other and not know it. Also what are the ideas for the fandom?
I'll make a sign ^-^
And I think we should begin spewing out random fandom ideas :)
Is anyone interested in a Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts fandom?
haha good idea :)
um well my favorite fandom is harry potter....i dont really know final fantasy/kingdom hearts, but im always willing to try anything new
Haha,
I just thought that since Final Fantasy/Kingdom Hearts were very broad on characters it'd be a great place to start, but if anyone can think of a fandom idea with a lot of characters that'd be great ^-^
Happy New Years guys :)
The meetings creeping closer and a fandom has still yet to be decided!
I guess we could be cliché and draw a Naruto doujin to start with... Since pretty much everyone knows what Naruto is.
So, the 29th at somewhere between 1-3 at the Copley Square Library?
i have no idea what Naruto is..can someone explain please?
its uh, difficult to explain Naruto so maybe we need to find an even broader topic...is everyone familiar with One Piece? I think it's best to start with something everyone knows and then gradually go to more obscure fandoms (as earlier suggested) ^-^
I used to watch OP when I was in elementary school. :O But I wasn't that familiar with it and I'm still not.
i dont know OP either. How about everyone names their favorite fandoms and we go from there?
Naruto, Ouran High School Host Club, Gin Tama, Captive Hearts, Vocaloid, Doujin Work, Axis Powers Hetalia, Time Stranger Kyoko, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and Dragonball Z come to mind at the moment.
Gin Tama is a must see!!!
and doujin work you mean originals?
Yes the 29 or the 30 of january would be good.
>>34
Doujin work as in the manga by Hiroyuki.
It's awesome and freaking hilarious, I'd totally recommend it to anyone... Over 13. :P
I might also be able to meet with you guys, as for fandoms, though, I'm mostly a Kingdom Hearts/Final Fantasy person, but I would be interested in branching out to some other anime and manga. :)

Well, It's gonna snow like a foot in Boston tonight/tomorrow so hopefully on Saturday most of the snow would be cleared and we can finally have our first meeting! (Jan 29th) unless everyone wants to reschedule it or something?
And i feel like we need to sit down at the library and talk about fandom ideas...
So... It's 1:00 at Copley Square Library on the 29th, right?
Well I'm not sure about Saturday, I'm supposed to go to the movies, but I'm not sure what time that will be. Also isn't there a lot of snow right now?
Damn snow...
Well, the roads are cleared but nevertheless, it's still pretty hard to walk around. If there isn't another snowstorm on Friday i think we can still meet up at 1:00 at the library unless no one wants to go. Lemme know if you're going by Saturday at 11 am!
you can txt/call me at 617 319 8907 :)
I think I will be able to go. I'm not on my computer very often, so text to confirm about saturday if u can 6177632273
Oh, almost forgot! We can meet somewhere away from other groups of people like, uh, near the swan or somewhere secluded/obvious that theres a group meeting up? my memory of the library's rusty...
oh, and bring drawings if you guys want ;)
I don't have such a good memory of the library either, other than the fact that on New Year's Eve, the town put on some light show on the side of the building and it was like, the most AMAZING THING EVAR when I was a kid. :P
Also, whoever arrives first, can you bring a sign? D: It's gonna be weird if I have to ask random people if they're part of the Boston Fancomics Team. :P
Should we bring anything special? I'm going to bring my sketchbook and some of my pens.
hm....i'll need a makeshift sign then lmao
or just txt me when u get there :] or i can txt everyone
if worse comes to worse we'll meet near the swan boat
bring sketchbooks, writing pieces, etc.
Summary:
January 29th (Saturday)
1:00 pm
Copley Library-Swan Boat
617 319 8907 (Call/Text)
Hope to see ya'll :D
Where is the swan boat? D:
Hey guys I'm not going to be able to go this week. I'm sick, must have caught something at school. Also is Copely a really good meeting place if none of us are sure of it?
The Swan boat is in the lobby when you enter the library and take a right near the children's section.
Well, i'll need a quick reply from everyone whose going. otherwise i'll assume no ones going and change the date.

Nerdgirl-hime will probably be there - I think that at least one other would be there as well. So, there might not be so many people at this first meeting, but at least this way, the group can get started, and get better-prepared for the next meeting.
Ok! ^-^
So the meetings still at 1:00 pm~
So Squeetzy and I will definitely be there, who else?
>>53
The Magic Pocket Turtle and three others said they will try to be there, but there is no definite guarantee of that - so others might show up, but do be prepared for the possibility that there would only be you two - in any case, even if it is only you two, I think that at least something could get started here.
In any case, I think that it is likely that at least one other person will show up - they said they would be able to go, but they probably just haven't been on the internet lately, but I think they will still show up.
anoryakana says she is already there, in the "New Wing" - teen room. Is anyone else there yet?
I'm in the teen room too...with a big red bag...

So, have you been able to find anoryakana yet?
So, in the end, was there a meeting?
yup,
i only saw Nerdgirl-hime and Jennifer(Sorry, i forgot your name here)
and another was spotted but she left. It was my mistake...the library took out the swan boat and we ended up meeting in the teen lounge.
Hopefully there'll be more people at the next meeting :]
Who was the girl with the blond hair, blue hoodie, and FMA messenger bag? Something tells me she was on here...
Hey guys!
Hows everyone doing? It's February and another meeting is around the corner and i was wondering if we can set up another time to meet up? I'm going to be away for February break (18-21) so maybe we can meet up on the 12th or 26th?
Also, I'm making a website and i'd be really cool if we had a group name...or is it too early for that? o.o
http://fecundvestige.blogspot.com/
made a website ^-^
Hey guys, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it to the next meet... Yoshino told me it was on the 26th.
will you be able to go on the 25/27th?
Hey, I'm Keltena. I just got linked to this site, and I might be able to go if it's on the 28th or after (it depends on whether I get parental permission, as I'm a teenager); I'm a little confused about the date though. ^^; If anyone is okay with sharing their age, that might help me find out if I can go, but I understand if you're not comfortable with that.
i think i'll be able to meet on the 28th and i'm 15 :)
Yeah, I live around Boston. I'll see if I can make it to a meeting if we'll have one. I'm 16, so it's nice to see that there are people around my age that are interested in this. Just so I'm not the only teenager to show up to these xP I'll talk to some friends about this too and see if they're interested.
Wait, so is this next meeting definitely taking place on the 26th? And where and when exactly is it? A library, by the sound of it.
Yep, the 26th and it'd help if everyone brought in some of their fan art :] i think we'll be meeting at the old wing teen room if there arent any other places
Hey everyone- Someone found me on fanfiction.net and asked me to come over here and check this deal out.
I live in the Boston area myself. I heard there was some sort of meeting happening on the 26th? Could I ask who is going?
Just a bit about me so you don't get nervous XD: I'm 21, an animation major and art student, and I'm female.
Feel free to email me: zteif@hotmail.com

And what library is this exactly? I'm only from right outside of Boston, so I don't know my way around as well as I probably should. I don't need directions, I don't think. Just the name of the library.
I think I'll be able to go (if my parents let me, which I'm not sure if they will since this all sounds kind of unprofessional, you know?), and like I said, I'll try and see if I can bring a friend or two along with me.
To mimic Zteif's intro; I'm 16 (sophomore), female, aaaand... I guess that's it for basics. My email is at: b.podsis@gmail.com , in case anyone needs it.
Boston Public Library ^-^
Alright, thanks :D I'll see if I can make it. Oh yeah, what about the time? Have we decided on that? If not, sometime after noon should be fine with me.
Also, just so that the meeting would actually be substantial, it would be good if people brought any of their previous fanart along, so that there would be something present at the meetings for the group to talk about.

Probably the same as last time, at 1:00PM
Hello all my name Jaden I am 19 years old and live in Richmond, Virginia. I am aspiring writer and comic book artist. I have a FanFiction.net account that uses the same pen name. The fanfics I specialize in are that of the Sonic The Hedgehog series I currently have four posted but have not updated since because of personal reasons. But have become fairly popular since their introduction I'm also planning to release two original Manga series to be release sometime this year probably exclusively to YouTube which I also have an account in which I post videos ranging from Video games to Re-Dubs and VLOGS.^^ Well hopefully my introduction did not bore you all I hope I will hear from you all soon both online and in-person as we share stuff about each other and such, with that said take care and nice to meet you.^~
Ok so we will have a meeting tomorrow! I just updated the website: http://fecundvestige.blogspot.com/

I'm so sorry I didn't make it D: So so sorry. How was the meeting? How many showed up? Maybe I'll make it to the next one, if I'm welcome that is.
My Aunt was sent to the hospital this morning, so I've had other priorities on my mind today. Sorry, I hope this meeting was more successful than the one before.
So, I didn't see anyone...

Well, I guess that this second attempt was a miss - in any case, when should the next attempt at a meeting be?
