After going through the previous thread, my list has now suddenly expanded to 12 people. Perhaps we can hope for more than 3 people at this meeting...

I think that getting a cover for fanfictions is an excellent idea!! Not only do you get to show off your other skills (or not so... like me >w<;) if you're an aspiring fan artist, but it also put the finishing touches to something you (usually) put tonnes of effort in to!

Another idea could be collecting first chapters or whatever and creating a big book that people can read at meetings, it would allow you to get a peek at stories or fanart or whatever and then you could go back home and look up the ones you liked ...?

Gah, Saturdays are a terrible day for me, I have work then :( I really want to come but I probably can't get the day off at such short notice now :(

I can make this day! Although I may be a bit late due to singing a solo part in a church choir thingmebob. But, rest assured, I will be escaping from that AS SOON AS HUMANLY POSSIBLE once we're done god-bothering, then it takes me an hour to drive up there. Is there parking near Central? (Wherever that is?) I have nooo idea where Central is lol, I will be using my TomTom, so it'll help if I know where there's parking in advance :)

There's a Central Station Parking lot, but its expensive, might not be the best idea. But the general area is a nightmare, it's just a big collection of one-way systems, it terrifies me, even when I'm with someone who knows the area.

You might be better finding somewhere close by and then walking to central, sorry I can't help you find parking nearby, I only know of the parking thats actually joined to the station. I could possibly find out though...

I know where I could find parking, but I'll have to look on Google Earth to find out how long it'll take me to walk there. Thanks for the advice lol, I'm sort of skint at the minute :P

Yep :D There was 7 of us in total, although one of us was my friend who isn't hugely into fanfiction anymore.

I can't even remember everyone's fanBBS names who showed up anymore, that's terrible :( But I do know there was me, Dance with the Devil, Sabulana, RayRay (I think), my friend, and a couple of other fanfic writers who haven't posted up on here yet. It was an epic meet! lol. I had fun, anyway :P

So, when should the next meeting be?

Additionally, I recommend that someone who went to the Newcastle meeting start up some kind of blog for the Newcastle meetings (like the London people have done), to post up information about the Newcastle meetings in an organized fashion...

This is just something that I was discussing with Dance with the Devil after we'd split up, but we were thinking of meeting every last Sunday of the month, because people have Saturday jobs and school the other days of the week. We'll probably keep the meetings at Central Station in Newcastle, seeing as it's an easy place to get to (if you know the area or go by train).

And I have no idea how to start a blog, so someone else may have to do that part :P

Nooo, I can't do Saturdays, I have a Saturday job and I'm sort of scared to ask for time off :/ And they can't reschedule the rehearsal - the school play's on on the 23rd and 24th, so the 21st is the last day we have for a rehearsal. Oh, and we're so far behind that we need every rehearsal we can eke out to be able to get the play ready on time.

I think that printing off Fan Fiction and adding a front page is a great way to share Fan Fictions with other lovers of reading.

Oh yeah, that reminds me: Feel free to bring some samples of your writing to the meetings! Me and Bec have done so for the past couple meetings but they've never come into use. But, hey, if you're stuck for a conversation starter, then you can show your work around :)

I just found out yesterday that I can't go along on the 21st either now. Apparently I was invited to a christening weeks ago and wasn't told about it and it is somehow assumed I'm going now without me saying anything. Not that I can say no without offending the wrong people so...

so its just me then. sigh okies, well i personally think it would be better to meet at our usual place as the metro centre is a pretty big place and someone might say 'well why dont we meet outside insert shop name here' and it is entirely plausible that at least 1 person ie ME XD, wont know where that store is, whereas if we all meet outside central, its easy for everyone to get to and its busy as well, taking care of her reasoning for going to the metrocentre in the first place

There is a map of the Metro Centre if you google it and find the site though. But then again... there are more than one of some shops in there, which may complicate things more.

I definitely would prefer it if you met in Central, because I know where that is, and I know where you're likely to go from there. Plus, everyone else should know where it is.

I would love to come to these meetings, I'm at Sunderland University so only up during term time, although I can drive up during half term, however I'm not there on weekends as I work at home, therefore I won't be there for the next meeting :(, would I be able to met up with a few people on like the 27th? Or instead when would the next meeting be?

Is it easy to find? Because I'll be driving, and I don't want to drive for an hour to get lost, because that stresses me out. And me plus stress equals hyperness and loss of car keys.

It's a good job I love you all enough to drive 65 miles just to see you all. (damn living in the middle of nowhere!)

It's at Seaburn/Roker seafront, and it's generally very very well signposted, although getting a train that day might be a bit more beneficial... as it gets very crowded, but theres a metro station a 10 minute walk from the seafront, so getting the metro from newcastle to seaburn is actually pretty easy.

Lessee... I have my Performing Arts practical exam on May 26th, then a psychology resit on the 7th June, 2 maths resits (at the same time - so one after the other) on the 9th, my final Maths exam on the 11th (then I go to Download Festival to see AC/DC among others :D), another psychology resit on the 21st June, and my final exam and final psychology exam on the 30th June.

And then crazy Uni timez :D

See, now I feel weird for disliking maths... Me and numbers just don't get along so well. It was easy enough at GCSE level but then I attempted it for AS Level and failed so spectacularly at everything I might as well have not sat through all the classes and the additional tutoring before taking the exams. ;-;

Ah, biology. One of the classes I miss most. I loved the experiments we did with pig hearts and lungs and things. That was so awesome~

Eh, my memories of science involve messing around with my friends, eating mint imperials in front of the teachers, and the terrible teachers themselves. One was a hunchback, one had a caveman brow, and one was a pathological liar. He lied about EVERYTHING. Honest to god.

Science at GCSE was fun :3

I learned stuff at GCSE science, I discovered an amazing ability to write notes to my friend and talk to her whilst taking notes on the subject and learning the stuff. I used to love experiment time because we could chat freely.

Also, my physics teacher was notoriously easy to side-track :D

I hate physics with a passion, but chemistry is alright and I love biology. We were extracting kiwi DNA last week. That was fun. :D

GCSE Physics was the best, I spent the whole time distracting the incredible hot goth (my now bf :D) on the other side of the room by texting him constantly and eating kit kats and watching this lad pop out his false front two teeth (he was hit by a car on his paper round)
I LOVE Maths...and A Level biology is the hardest thing I've ever done in my life...harder than the bio I do for my degree!
So what's happening for the meet on the 30th? I've been away revising for a while, but now I'm procrastinating so I wanna know...

Basically I thought it might be good if we went to the Life Centre, 'cause I've never been and people have told me it's awesome :D so if you keep around £10 aside for getting in there then that'd be cool :P (I have no idea how much it is to get in, but £10 should cover it hopefully :D)

I've been to Life - went with my friend who's 21, and me and her had an AWESOME time. So if we can act like kids, then we all can :D It's the perfect place to take pictures as well :D

I have a job interview on the Thursday, so I'll be finding out if I got the job on the MOnday, so I may be a little twitchy and nervous. Oh my.

Yeah definately, leaves south hylton like 5 mins before it gets to millfield, so we'll arrange a metro to catch a few days before or something :) So we know which one you're on and if you're at the front or the back carriage :D

That would be a good idea, actually - it's a lot easier for me to get to York than Newcastle (mainly from being closer :P) and I'm sure that there are other people who would come to a meeting :P (just don't hold them on the last Sunday of the month, that's the Newcastle Meetings date :P)

Man, just checked out York to Newcastle on the map - that's a log way to go D: We could do with finding somewhere in between for everyone to meet at. I'd say Northallerton but there's nothing here. Darlington seems to be in the middle, though...

York is an hour and a half away for me, but since Newcastle is next weekend, I won't be able to do York until the summer, providing I get this job and stuff. I'm shockingly skint, to the point where I won't even check how much I have in the bank... I know it;s negative I just won't admit it :P

Darlington would be alright... Durham might be good as well, I think there's probably more to do there.

Hmm, there's probably more to do there but it's still a long way for anyone in the York area to go :/ Plus, I've been to Darlo a few times on a Sunday, so I know what shops are open and what have you :) (although I don't know the place well enough to say where would be a good place to meet...)

I've been to Darlington once, and I was five or something.

I go there with my friends often enough to know how to get there and where free parking is, but not enough that I know the place fantastically. I don't even know if there's a train station there (although I would have thought there would have been).

Yeah... you go through Darlington to get to York on the train. It's pretty central I think, so if we did meet in Darlington the station might be a good meet up point.

I want to go to Darlington... theres a car sales place there that has the car I want and I want to have a look at it at some point :P

I drive past a car sales place every time I go there :P it's right next to a huge roundabout with a freaking forest in the middle, and then you're into the outskirts :) and yeah, I'll have to have a look-see where the station is :P

In actual thread-related news, the next Newcastle meeting will be on Sunday 27th June. Can someone remind me when the airshow weekend is? I think it's July, but I can't remember, and if we can I want to organise the meeting people to go there :)

the airshow is on the 24th and 25th of July, which is the weekend we would meet up anyway. if we do go to the airshow, it would probably be best if we met up at seaburn metro or soemthing coz the seafront gets pretty busy and it'll be hard to find each other

The metros have been and continue to be off every Sunday for a couple of months, I'm not sure of the exact dates, for 'essential engineering works'.
I'm not going to be able to make it, but hopefully the Metro'll be up again by next month.

I would say no at the moment, and it's not a definite no for august as my resit with be from the 1st of september.
Unfortunately I now have no life and me getting up there on a Sunday after work on Saturday is just not going to happen :( when I'm back at uni however it's much more likely :D
