9 Name: Tweaked-Reality : 2009-11-16 11:46 ID:bPNnp0Nv

I'm a tammie :)
Tamworth is like in the middle of no where lol

10 Name: Majin : 2009-11-16 13:16 ID:vTYmYyId

Ooh, I've been to Tamworth, once, years ago. xD

It's in the middle of nowhere, but it has the Snowdome, right?

11 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2009-11-17 08:26 ID:r7liyCQb

I'm a Brummie girl, and considering the amount of buses and trains that go through the city centre, I'm pretty sure I can get to most of the places mention in this topic, although I'm not sure about journey times.

12 Name: Anonymous : 2009-11-17 08:40 ID:j6CklkaM

If there is a meeting, where should it be? Dudley? Coventry? Birmingham?

13 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2009-11-17 08:59 ID:r7liyCQb

I'd suggest Birmingham, but then again, I'm biased!

14 Name: Majin : 2009-11-17 09:06 ID:vTYmYyId

>>11

From Birmingham, none of the places mentioned are that far away. See response to >>12 for more details, I checked on Journey Planner.

>>12

If there is one, everyone would have to agree, but I'd suggest Birmingham. It's the biggest city, so more to see and most likely to have trains/buses directly there and back. Coventry is <30 mins train ride away, Dudley is 50 mins bus ride from Birmingham (1hr:15mins with changes from Coventry), <30 mins from Tamworth and 50 mins from Kidderminster.

15 Name: Majin : 2009-11-17 09:10 ID:vTYmYyId

*

Of course, I'm biased since Birmingham is <30 away for me, Coventry is almost an hour away and I've spent too many hours in Dudley, enough to realise there's very little of interest in the town centre.

16 Name: Emma : 2009-11-28 16:49 ID:A7287SJh

I live in Walsall so I would say Birmingham, mainly because it is close and I know my way around and also it is a big place so there will be lots of places to meet.

17 Name: Anonymous : 2009-11-28 16:57 ID:j6CklkaM

So, where exactly in Birmingham should the meeting be? Could someone take a walk around Birmingham, and spot a location that would be good to meet (and perhaps take a picture of the location, if a camera is available)?

18 Name: summersocks : 2009-11-29 06:13 ID:+t6EBqFj

I live in Kidderminster, and Birmingham sounds good. Struggling though to think of a location there...won't hiring it out be a bit expensive?

19 Name: summersocks : 2009-11-29 06:13 ID:+t6EBqFj

I live in Kidderminster, and Birmingham sounds good. Struggling though to think of a location there...won't hiring it out be a bit expensive?

20 Name: Anonymous : 2009-11-29 10:07 ID:j6CklkaM

It should perhaps be in a cafe, or something...

21 Name: Majin : 2009-11-29 18:17 ID:vTYmYyId

I'd suggest New Street Station, at the bottom of the escalators (i.e. the entrance from the shopping centre). I imagine that a lot of people would be taking trains and that's both the main train station and also a landmark (being underneath a shopping centre). More importantly, because of both reasons, it's always filled with people so it's for a good public area and most people know where it is, so it's easy to ask a passer-by if you get lost.

It would be nice to sit down in a café, but it might be difficult to find a specific one, if you don't know the area.

>>18 summersocks I don't think anyone has planned to hire anywhere out and I don't think we have the numbers to do so or really to need to do so with so few people.

Don't worry! You're not the only one. Though I should really sleep at normal times for once.

I live in Birmingham??

25 Name: CullenTwilightFan : 2009-12-01 13:11 ID:UBDzExua

I live in the west midlands???
I agree with Anonymous, it should be in a cafe or something, where there are lots of people

26 Name: Sofa : 2009-12-01 14:03 ID:zX8FsgSj

I agree with Anonymous, it could be in Starbucks in the shopping centre, or somewhere like that. Oh! And I also live in West Midlands, Cov.

27 Name: Yami~ : 2009-12-02 08:50 ID:ZJtpqhcu

I live in Walsall, and I'd say Birmingham. Just a bus ride away ^,~ XD I don't know my way around that well, but I know peopl that do. It's a big city, loads of interesting things... and just becuase I dont know how to get to other places (like Dudley), without somebody else. XD

29 Name: Majin : 2009-12-02 13:51 ID:vTYmYyId

Which shopping centre?

Pallasades, Bull Ring, Mailbox, etc. Is there only one Starbucks in whichever it is? I've not explored everywhere and I only know three of the shopping centres. I don't take much notice of Starbucks either, so I don't know which has one.

If we do choose that, please be specific about which or I'll get lost. I can get lost on a road with two exits.

I live near Warwick, so I could probably get to Birmingham. I don't really know it that well though... I know where the Bull Ring is and where the Mailbox is because I've been there before, but I don't know if there's a Starbucks in there either. :)

32 Name: sparrowsxxswann : 2009-12-06 05:46 ID:QEsmuiPf

I live in Wolverhampton, or near there, anyway. I can get the train to Birmingham pretty easily!

36 Name: Majin : 2009-12-14 12:07 ID:vTYmYyId

Hi to another Wulfrunian! Though I've never seen anyone actually call Wolverhampton people that, outside of articles saying what people of various places are called. O.o

37 Name: LongRider : 2009-12-22 15:24 ID:j+uuQMKj

Hi guys, I grew up in northfield and I know that the local Waterstones has a cafe in it, it's just by the big bull statue for the people who want a land mark thats on most of the information maps.

38 Name: LongRider : 2009-12-22 16:34 ID:j+uuQMKj

not very clear was it? I meant in Birmingham city centre in the Bull Ring

39 Name: alphagal : 2009-12-23 01:09 ID:SaoKw176

I live in solihul so we could meet up in bham town, catch the train or bus XD

40 Name: Majin : 2009-12-23 20:57 ID:vTYmYyId

>>37 Is that the Waterstones, near the Palasades exit of New Street Station?

41 Name: LongRider : 2009-12-27 04:56 ID:j+uuQMKj

>>40 near the palasades exit and if that doesn't work there are tons of little coffee shops nearby

42 Name: kacysparrow : 2009-12-27 11:41 ID:LhP9yQ+s

i also live in northfield like LongRider! so its very easy to meet up in birmingham! i really like the idea of gathering in waterstones! also the bull is a very obvious statue in birmingham so it would be easy for everyone to know to meet there. if we all had a folder or nametag on us then we would all know who was waiting for the meeting :)

43 Name: MooI'mACow : 2009-12-27 11:45 ID:gDJ0TyJ3

Oh, I live in Birmingham. :D

45 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-02 11:16 ID:KfWzuDbu

>>42 so, can we assume everybody likes the big bull as a landmark and the cafe in waterstones as a meeting place? Or does someone have another option?

46 Name: Leya : 2010-01-02 16:40 ID:SaAE2c2l

Erm, hey guysies! I don't know if you've already had the meeting or not... but I live in Birmingham (Sutton) too, so yay! I don't know whether I would be able to come or not, 1) because I am fairly paranoid about meeting people off the internet (don't ask, I'm weird like that; I'm sure you are all lovely people xD) and 2) My Mother would be fairly paranoid about me meeting people in B'ham who I don't know.

But I MIGHT just sort of lurk around the Bull-Ring, I go sometimes (and it's only a train ride away from Sutton), and see where you are, and come if I feel brave enough. xD So, when were you all planning to go?

47 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-05 08:15 ID:KfWzuDbu

Does anyone have any objection to meeting on a weekend? I know it sounds obvious (smart-arses keep quiet please) But some of us have weekday commitments that make it difficult to make a late-afternoon or evening time get together. Also, How are we going to recognize each other? I was reading on another post that some people are thinking of printing off their work, so a bunch of people with folders standing around a giant bull wouldn't be too hard to spot. Any ideas? I really dread the whole "Hello my name is . . " nametags.

48 Name: Layla James : 2010-01-05 12:06 ID:mOFlalTO

i live in worcester which is about an hour away but my mum is like yours Leya, she wouldnt want me meeting a load of random ppl off the internet! also a weekend sounds pretty good to me!

49 Name: Lay-A-Egg : 2010-01-05 15:01 ID:SaAE2c2l

xD Yay for overprotective mums! (This is Leya by the way)

Yeah, a weekend would definitely be best. x3 Probably not in the next two weeks or so, because I've got GCSEs, so boo (though I might not come anyway, but still). Unless you consider doing it in the half term (though that's like quite a few weeks away!). I wish it was now. I'm sick of school already even I've only been for two days. At least we get the day off tomorrow due to the snow!

Well, we could possibly print off our work as well, so we can recognise each other. And that means we can share our writing as well. We could print off a page that says "offline meeting" or whatever, so we can spot each other, if you don't like nametags.

50 Name: Anonymous : 2010-01-05 19:53 ID:l6wb1Wnw

Just to make sure everyone is clear about the meeting spot:

This is the big bull, correct?
http://www.concepteducation.co.uk/The__Bull.jpg

As I understand, there is a cafe near that statue - what exactly is that cafe? Right now, I am very unclear about what exactly is the cafe. Does anyone know the name of the cafe?

51 Name: Lay-A-Egg : 2010-01-06 04:30 ID:SaAE2c2l

Hmm, I haven't been in a while. Could it have been Starbucks? Or Costa? There are probably a few restaurant-ey type places, but I have not been in ages, so...

52 Name: HoldenCaulfield : 2010-01-06 08:10 ID:xvWjpeCT

Hello all!

I'm Holden Caulfield from the London meet up. Yoshino dropped me an e-mail asking if I was willing to travel to help set up meetings and share ideas. I know Birmingham well, so it was my first port of call when asked.

I was wondering if that idea appeals to any of you, if you would want to meet anyone from any of the other meetings, and see what we're up to, or if you need any help in organising events!

Hope you're all having a good time anyway.

53 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-06 08:28 ID:KfWzuDbu

Do you know the name of the cafe?

55 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-06 14:19 ID:KfWzuDbu

>>54 I honestly don't know if they named it, but it must belong to the company since it operates within the actual shop, just go in through the ground floor entrance and take the stairs up to the first or second floor, it's literally jammed inbetween a bunch of shelves and the display windows, overlooking the street.

59 Name: Lay-A-Egg : 2010-01-10 06:40 ID:SaAE2c2l

x3 Lol, it's been pretty empty here, but I'm here now!

I know which cafe you're talking about! I've been there like once, but it's cool. =3

Do people want to meet up soon-ish? Or like, in the half-term (which is quite a while away, but still.)

60 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-10 06:47 ID:eN0sXNFK

When is half term for you? I haven't even had my new university timetable yet so I've no idea when mine is.

61 Name: Anonymous : 2010-01-10 08:12 ID:9sVUFFmg

Without knowing the name of the cafe, perhaps it might be possible to get mixed up about it. Perhaps it might be best to meet up at the big bull statue instead, and then move to the cafe - that way, there could be no confusion.

66 Name: Jestervalaia : 2010-01-17 17:04 ID:kKpyEtCf

Anyone live near Coventry? There seems to be a fair number of people meeting in Birmingham, so I could make it out there if that's where everyone is meeting.

67 Name: Lay-A-Egg : 2010-01-18 10:06 ID:SaAE2c2l

Yep, it's Costa's! I knew it was! I checked there again on Saturday, as well. It's like, right next to the Pavillions. I don't know when exactly I break up for half term... I think it's 12th Feb or something.

68 Name: Daisy Diadem : 2010-01-20 09:04 ID:iplgLSN9

I live a bus ride away from birmingham, in Walsall.

When is this gathering planned for?

And a meeting place?

A lot of classes break up the 11th or 12th of february!

Keep on writing.

Hey

I live in Telford and I'd really like to come to the meeting. I cna't say for definite that I'd be able to make it as I'm in the middle of my A-Levels but I'm sure me and a couple of friends could try and come along if any of us had any sense of geographical co-ordination...

My bestie thought Japan was the one with the boot and that England was in Asia. Her excuse was she read the map wrong -.-'

But yeh, I'm all ears! When, where and who?

71 Name: jestervalaia : 2010-01-20 15:29 ID:kKpyEtCf

So far it's looking like either the 13th or 14th, right? That's the first weekend after the 12th and a lot of people are saying that's when they break up.

What about a time?

And exactly where...is there an agreed place to meet up?

Check the earlier posts: is is the Costas cafe near the Big Bull Statue.

I suggest 2:00 PM as the meeting time.

The Costa's is on the first floor inside the big Waterstones book shop. The big bull statue in birmingham is staring right at it. maybe thirty paces between the bull and the book shop. the 13th sounds good and I like 2pm as a meeting time. Only questions I have are how many are going? And how will we recognize each other?

77 Name: Jestervalaia : 2010-01-23 03:58 ID:yKbdsdwu

Maybe someone could check and see if we could place a sign somewhere inside so we know exactly where everyone is inside?

78 Name: soulspaz : 2010-01-23 17:36 ID:xaeLLAH5

ok thanks, i'll be there, maybe we should just wear something destictive and let everyone know what it is(by telling them on here).

Guys, my only concern is that it'll be too busy in the cafe. I mean, I went there one or two weeks ago and it was CRAMMED, seriously, me, my mom and my sister had to share two seats between us three in the corner. Hmmm, unless there's like another part of the cafe that I failed to see . . . (when I went, I turned straight left after going up the stairs, but does the cade continue on the right as well, someone?)

It'll probably be even busier in half-term . . . and there seems to be quite a number of people wanting to go to this meeting. Are we planning to stay at the cafe long (like actually eat/drink/discuss/whatever there)? Or are we just meeting there first then going elsewhere?

And as for the question regarding how we're going to recognize each other . . . I really can't think of anything else apart from name-tags, or say, bringing a folder/sheet of paper with the words "meeting" on it (or something better). We could say what we plan to wear, but honestly I doubt I could memorise like twenty or so outfits (or however many people are coming >_>), and other people who are not part of this meeting might be wearing similar attire.

Also . . . I'm kinda self-conscious about wearing something VERY distinctive and weird, particularly because I usually get harassed in public places when out with my friends, even when we're wearing relatively normal clothing. xD

These are just concerns of mine that you might like to consider; I might not even be going anyway, 'cause I might be busy. (So sorry for the long post, I dunno why I always ramble on! What's wrong with me?!)

83 Name: Jestervalaia : 2010-01-28 16:19 ID:42MQh0jN

I still think someone should see if we could get a sign put up somewhere inside the cafe and yes Costa's is usually very packed, it also tends to be insanely expensive. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm usually verging on flat out broke most of the time. Maybe we should reconsider the meeting place.

I would suggest Scruffy Murpheys which tends to be quite empty during the day but I have a feeling that a fair proportion are going to be under 18 so it wouldn't be possible there.

I don't know Birmingham very well, is there any where else that anyone can think of?

84 Name: LongRider : 2010-01-28 16:56 ID:0ZbPAgL1

>>83 Scruffy Murphy's is a little intimidating for the un-initiated. Borders in the bullring used to have a decent cafe, but it's been shut down now. There's a starbucks near but I only loosely call what thy serve coffee.

85 Name: Jestervalaia : 2010-01-29 07:24 ID:42MQh0jN

As before, starbucks is relatively expensive and I don't know about Birmingham but it's always packed in Coventry.

Is there not a quieter Cafe in the centre?

Why not try a landmark like the Floozy in the Jacuzzi or the bull outside the Bullring? Either that, or meet in the Food Court on the top floor of the Pavilions, which is right next to the Bullring. It's huge - literally the entire floor - and though it gets busy during the rush, that usually only lasts from 12:00 to 1:30 in my experience.

87 Name: moonphase9 : 2010-02-01 13:45 ID:ihwlP+Hm

you guys could always go to the tea rooms in the gallery/museum. Its relatively cheap, freaking huge and not very full. I can't remember what level its on though. Its free to get into the gallery/museum too.

Mount Fuji is very good at catering to groups who wish to eat lunch. They are used to it from the BJD people. Just be sure to tell them in advance how many to expect.

89 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-06 09:36 ID:j6CklkaM

So, have we decided on a meeting spot yet? It would probably be best to sort this out before the 13th of February.

90 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-06 16:07 ID:wPR7A3xP

How about the top floor of the Pavillions, the building opposite the Birmingham Bull that has the huge entrance? (HMV is one of the buildings on the outside by the entrance.) There is a food court on the top floor, but also a sort of internet cafe in case we'd need access to a computer.

And just looking furthur up the posts, I see someone has already posted a similar idea....great minds, hey?

"the top floor of the Pavillions, the building opposite the Birmingham Bull that has the huge entrance?"
So, this will be the place? Is it a big place? If so, we need to specify a more specific place than this if we are ever going to find each other.

96 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-11 18:12 ID:ZsxFHIuO

Trust me, the top floor should be big enough. Any idea how many are planning to show up? And how exactly are we gonna recognise each other? We could be sitting at adjacent tables and never know we we're supposed to be talking to each other the way this meeting sounds like it could be going. Are we gonna have the papers out in our hands and on the table or what? And 2pm sounds about right to me. Also, are we sticking around at the food court?

97 Name: Emma : 2010-02-12 11:44 ID:9b4fTieW

I can't come now sorry but I will try to next time.

98 Name: Jestervalaia : 2010-02-12 17:54 ID:RsuRvyYw

Can't make it this time - money is just way too tight, but maybe if there was another meet at some point in the future I might be able to make that.

99 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-12 19:54 ID:WgWBpz31

show of hands, or something, of people who can come.

100 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-13 03:17 ID:EHVQEgpC

Well, I'm currently going to go get ready to go, so hope to see people there!

101 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-13 06:52 ID:JwmlEZHl

I'm typing from the internet lounge opposite the food court. Hopefully see some people at 2pm.

102 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-13 07:05 ID:JwmlEZHl

For anybody looking, I'll be the scruffy bugger with the black university hoody and blue jeans near "The Ranch" See you there

103 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-13 09:04 ID:Jj5CdOAN

I came, I saw, I left after an hour. Better luck next time.

104 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-13 09:58 ID:EHVQEgpC

Okay, in theory, it was brilliant. In practice, we could have done way better. We didn't know who we were looking for, in retrospect, the 'Food Court' is relatively huge, and we picked the day before Valentines Day.

I managed to get to the top floor at about five past two, having spent ages waiting for a bus, and typically two came along as one.

I circled the floor twice, including the internet lounge. Speaking of LongRider, did you see a female in all black circling the area holding a disposable cup? If so, you saw me. Sorry I missed you!

105 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-13 11:27 ID:WgWBpz31

>>104 sorry, don't think i did, if you saw a fella in desperate need of a shave and a decent nights sleep, you saw me. Think we'll have to bite the bullet and go with name badges next time. still, I'd definitely come to the next one. And you're right by the way, it was packed, maybe we could try the little coffee area on the ground floor next time? Smaller space to meet, then go upstairs to grab some table space.

106 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-13 11:56 ID:j6CklkaM

So then, when and where should the next attempt be?

107 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-13 19:19 ID:EHVQEgpC

I was actually sorta thinking the same place, kinda. I managed to notice that the top level of Waterstones was virtually abandoned when I walked by it, and was thinking that could be a somewhat decent meeting point.

And as for when, are we sticking to Saturdays?

108 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-14 11:14 ID:j6CklkaM

I guess that sticking to Saturdays would be a good idea. Perhaps try again in two weeks? That would be the 27th of February - would that be a good date?

Also, I think that it would be best to choose the same place, but a more specific location next time, so that we will actually be able to find each other.

109 Name: Majin : 2010-02-14 15:49 ID:vTYmYyId

So did anyone actually find anyone else? Unfortunately I was unable to go, since I only found out after I'd made plans. I should've been following the thread still!

I'm still not sure exactly where people mean to meet. Where is the Pavillions? I know the Palisades, Mailbox and Bull Ring but not that one.

110 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-14 16:53 ID:zOPpz2+m

Do you know where the Birmingham Bull is; the one at the top of the ramp that leads down towards the Bull Ring? If so, you follow the way the bull is looking, and it's looking towards the Pavillions.

111 Name: LongRider : 2010-02-14 17:57 ID:WgWBpz31

>>109 >>110 it has a multifloor HMV and Waterstones that are both part of the actual building, both have entrances on the outside and inside.

112 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-15 07:11 ID:j6CklkaM

So, on which Saturday shall the next attempt be? Next Saturday, on the 20th of February, or the week after, on the 27th?

113 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-02-15 20:59 ID:cyM61W9J

I would suggest next Saturday, only because I have no idea really if I'll be available the Saturday after that. Are we going with my idea about the absolute very top floor of Waterstones?

114 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-15 23:08 ID:+xe84LLY

>>113
Well, perhaps having a picture might be handy... are you able to find a picture of the place?

115 Name: Mei : 2010-02-16 06:50 ID:3ulFOrr/

If you're looking for a meet, there're regular meets in Brum. Pretty much one every month. Try eccg.deviantart.com if you want to know more. If not, there's the Midlands MCM Expo - Although that's in Telford. This year's is 20th Feb and there may be another later in the year?

116 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-16 14:52 ID:j6CklkaM

>>113
If you were going to pick a location, I think that it should be a place that everybody knows about and that is easy to get to, and is small enough for us to find each other. I think that picking out-of-way places is not going to go well at all... I think that meeting at an ordinary cafe would be best. We just need identifying signs, in case the place is very crowded.

117 Name: Majin : 2010-02-16 16:14 ID:vTYmYyId

I'd suggest the 6th of March for logical reasons like giving people time to find out/etc, but that's just because I'm busy on the 20th and likely the 27th. ;)

>>110 I know where the Bull is (even if I did get lost last time looking for it). No idea where it's pointing towards though.

>>116 I agree with this, somewhat. I agree with a place that everybody knows and possibly with signs. However don't think a café is a great idea, because it might be too small, not everyone would want to buy stuff from there, you could get thrown out any time for loitering/too many non-paying people and they're not easy to find unless you already know where it is - ask someone where a station or big chain is they'll know, ask someone where the Caffé Nero is and you'll be lucky if they know. I guess it also depends on who is going and whether they live in Birmingham/often go or not.

118 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-17 09:15 ID:PdjiphKu

i think that march is a good idea. it will allow people time to see if they are free or to arrange time. pavillions sounds good as not too many people tend to stay around there. other cafes and places similar too that tend to be busy on weekends. we could meet at a landmark that everyone knows, then move on from there...any other ideas people ??

119 Name: soulspaz : 2010-02-17 09:16 ID:PdjiphKu

sorry that was me ^

120 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-18 09:04 ID:j6CklkaM

Still, we still need to pick a place, and we haven't done so yet - it should be place that we can easily find on the map.

121 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-19 09:10 ID:j6CklkaM

Also, from this, it seems like it would be most wise not to try again tomorrow, on the 20th of February, since it seems like nobody would be able to make it...

122 Name: laurakyna : 2010-02-19 14:29 ID:X2wbqIhw

Any in Birmingham?

123 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-25 07:51 ID:RsuRvyYw

I won't be able to make the 6th...what about the week after?

124 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-27 18:23 ID:j6CklkaM

Perhaps we can have one on both the 6th and the week after... best not to delay this too long.

125 Name: soulspaz : 2010-02-28 06:11 ID:xaeLLAH5

i think the 6th is ok... the weekend after should be fine as well. it's probably best to pick one date though. also, is there a fixed meeting place yet ??

126 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-28 13:12 ID:OoArx77q

Would it be alright if I join? I'm new in this forum!!

127 Name: soulspaz : 2010-03-03 09:40 ID:xaeLLAH5

anyone is welcome i guess....

128 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-03 11:07 ID:j6CklkaM

So, anyone have a meeting place in mind? If we want to have it on the 6th and not delay another week, perhaps we should choose one quickly.

129 Name: Mazzy : 2010-03-03 13:59 ID:TOoaubgu

This may sound a silly question but what is the age range of people meeting up? I don't want to feel out of place! XD

130 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-03 14:01 ID:fnhzpAGc

I agree. The 6th of March, perhaps by the top floor entrance to Waterstones, located by the Internet cafe on the top floor of the Pavillions? In any case, I'll be the female all dressed in black, most likely with a black folder containing my stories and a black handbag. Can you tell what my favourite colour is?

131 Name: soulspaz : 2010-03-04 08:28 ID:xaeLLAH5

ok so, top floor of pavillions...and on the 6th of march...sound ok too everyone ? oh and mazzy, im 17 i dunno about everyone else.

132 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-04 08:29 ID:j6CklkaM

>>131
And more specifically, the top floor entrance to Waterstones, located by the Internet cafe...

133 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-05 01:06 ID:OoArx77q

Exactly where is the metting? I mean the general place

134 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-05 01:34 ID:OoArx77q

And at what time do we have to be there?

135 Name: soulspaz : 2010-03-05 04:56 ID:xaeLLAH5

right, so how about 2 pm as a meeting time ? we really do need to sort things out today...the 6th is tomorrow and all...
so we're meeting at the top floor of pavillions at the top floor entrance to waterstones by the internet cafe.
also....>>133 what do you mean where by the general place ?

136 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-05 07:45 ID:j6CklkaM

Here is the description of the location of the Pavillions:

"Do you know where the Birmingham Bull is; the one at the top of the ramp that leads down towards the Bull Ring? If so, you follow the way the bull is looking, and it's looking towards the Pavillions."

im going to be there for about 2. see you guys there !

How many?

We were 3! It was good, it was good. Hope we can do this again soon!

147 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-06 21:52 ID:l6wb1Wnw

Well, then, perhaps it would be good to start to think about the next gathering: when shall it be? In two weeks, perhaps on the 20th of March or something?

148 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-08 22:47 ID:l6wb1Wnw

So, anyone know when the next one should be?

149 Name: soulspaz : 2010-03-14 07:01 ID:xaeLLAH5

20th of march is kinda soon.....maybe halfway through april?

150 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-03-14 07:09 ID:o1opCzk+

That would certainly give me enough time to write more fanfiction. So far, I only have a few (unposted) chapters of a Star Trek 2009 Kirk-based ff, and the idea of a Percy Jackson story. Wish me luck!

151 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-14 09:30 ID:j6CklkaM

So, what about the 3rd of April?

152 Name: Majin : 2010-03-16 15:34 ID:vTYmYyId

How about some time in the Easter holiday, for those of us still at school/college university?

Last time I came down with a sudden case of coursework deadlines. I'm hoping next time I don't do the same or worse, catch 'dissertation deadline disease'.

What did people end up doing last time, with only three?

I've a request. Would someone post a photo of the meeting point, if anyone has one?

153 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-22 07:51 ID:j6CklkaM

>>152
As far as I know, Easter holiday is on the 4th of April... is that alright with people, or would there be a better time for the next meeting?

154 Name: Majin : 2010-03-29 08:36 ID:vTYmYyId

>>153
I was actually referring to not the actual day of celebration itself (which would likely be a problem for some people, due to Sunday service for transport), but one of the days in the holiday season for university/school people. In my universities case it's 29th March - 10th April, some others it's about 1st April - about 2 weeks later.

If transport or prior obligations with family isn't a problem, I imagine lots of people would have Easter itself off though.

155 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-29 08:50 ID:j6CklkaM

>>154
Well, which day do you think would be best for the next meeting, then?

156 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-03-30 09:41 ID:7I+qdo/l

Well, last time we sat around the food court, read each others stories, helped another with her story, and got something to eat.

This Saturday, the third, could be a good day; maybe sometime between 2pm and 3pm?

Like last time, I'll be the female wearing all black, with a black handbag and a black folder.

157 Name: Anonymous : 2010-03-31 08:53 ID:j6CklkaM

Well, here is the meeting place again, in case people don't want to look back in the thread for where it was last posted:

The meeting place is by the top floor entrance to Waterstones, located by the Internet cafe on the top floor of the Pavillions.

Also, here a description of the location of the Pavillions:

"Do you know where the Birmingham Bull is; the one at the top of the ramp that leads down towards the Bull Ring? If so, you follow the way the bull is looking, and it's looking towards the Pavillions."

158 Name: HotelWindow : 2010-03-31 12:33 ID:udW6uJyy

Hey I'm new to this forum and just getting back into writing fanfiction, but I'd really like to come along if that's okay?

Also, I'm 15, is that a problem?

Thanks :]

159 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-04-02 07:04 ID:7I+qdo/l

There is no problem with your age, but if you feel uncomfortable coming on your own, you are more than welcome to bring an adult or friend with you.

That being said, this Saturday (3rd April) is when we're meeting right? Just wanting to confirm.

160 Name: Majin : 2010-04-02 16:50 ID:vTYmYyId

I might try come along to this. I'm collecting data at 12pm, but might be able to finish on time.

Does it mean that the whole meeting is 2pm - 3pm or that's just when people are going to be in that particular place?

161 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-04-02 18:21 ID:7I+qdo/l

Turns out I'm not gonna be able to make it this time.

BTW, I meant that people should be in the area between 2 and 3pm. Hopefully that'll still be the same even though I can't make it.

162 Name: Majin : 2010-04-03 10:54 ID:vTYmYyId

Did anyone make it?

If not, what about Saturday the 10th April?

163 Name: Anonymous : 2010-04-03 11:20 ID:j6CklkaM

>>162
Well, if nobody said that they were able to go, then I guess not...

We will have to see about the 10th of April, of course.

164 Name: Anonymous : 2010-04-07 20:25 ID:j6CklkaM

>>162
On second thought, though, I think that it would be much better to give people some more time to prepare - thus, I think that it would be necessary to give at least more than one week of advance notice, at least for now.

So, perhaps the 17th or 24th of April?

165 Name: Majin : 2010-04-08 08:22 ID:vTYmYyId

>>163
I think last time we had three people express interest, two people not go (myself and PhoenixLumen) and one never saying either way (HotelWindow). Depends if anyone went without posting I guess.

>>164
Since no-one has posted yet and it's already Thursday, that might be a good idea. How many people are interested? Do people like the 17th? The 24th? Or even something further away like the 15th of May?

166 Name: PhoenixLumen : 2010-04-10 02:08 ID:CcSTy3Md

Any Saturday excepting this one (10th) may be better, especially since my mom has recruited me to go shopping with her today. Hopefully I'll see you guys some other time.

167 Name: jestervalaia : 2010-04-10 15:56 ID:BwM5513D

I think further off would be better - mostly because my little brother managed to download a virus and wipe everything I had written up, and because I'm completely broke at the moment.

I swear, I will turn up to one of these at some point.

168 Name: Majin : 2010-04-11 03:27 ID:vTYmYyId

What would people think about the 15th of May? or possibly the 22nd of May?

It will give a bit over a month for people to see the post and it's far enough in advance to know to keep it free.

169 Name: soulspaz : 2010-04-11 13:39 ID:xaeLLAH5

yeah, 15th of may sounds good.

170 Name: Majin : 2010-04-24 06:45 ID:vTYmYyId

So, a few weeks to go. Is anyone thinking of coming along?

171 Name: HotelWindow : 2011-07-15 06:50 ID:UQsQmmkL

I would be interested if anything comes up in the future. I'm from Birmingham, and I posted a while ago but chickened out ><

Anyway I am good for it but I'm not sure how close an eye I'll be keeping on this place, so I have PM enabled on FF.
