Who goes to what conventions?
I go to anime Iowa, and san japan .
Well, I don't know if it's any use if I say it (because I don't go too often) but if anything, I go to Paris' Japan Expo and Polymanga (Switzerland, normally Lausanne).
I've only been to one convention so far but I'm planning to go to many more, and that one convention was Otakon 2010
I was planning on going to Realmscon down here, but my friends said this year isn't going to be worth it. Figures the year I get enough to pay for tickets and it's going to suck
I've only been to WizardCon in Chicago, but that was pretty fun and I intend on going to many more.
I've been to Otakon and planning on Zenkaikon in March
I mainly go to cons in Ohio such a Colossalcon and Ohayocon (and sometimes randomly appear at smaller cons in the area throughout the year if I can), but did once go to Youmacon. . .
I've been to the London MCM Expo three times, and this weekend just gone (July 9-10th) I went to London Film & Comic Con. I saw Mark Sheppard from Supernatural there. There was also Karen Gillan from Doctor Who and Christopher Lloyd, but I don't see them. Oh, and Corey Feldman was also there.
I'm looking forward to going to more, definitely.
>>8 Are you going to MCM in October? I'm planning on going with a group of friends.
I go to Megacon, Metrocon, Anime Planet, Orlando Anime Day, AFO, and basically all the ones that pop up in Florida:)
>>9 Yeah, MCM at the Excel in London, I'm pretty sure I'll be there, I have friends who go, and one of the Neo Writers works there, in fact I'm sure a few of us London lot might make an effort to be there, so... see you there? It'd be great to see you again.
>>11 ...Again?
Oh, sorry, I might be getting your screen name mixed up in my head with someone else. Oops. I can't help it, I've met many people on this site with many screen names. That's not much of an excuse though.
Please don't be too scared to go now. We're a friendly group and however many of us can make it would be delighted to meet you.
>>13 Hahah, I figured it was something like that, but it was still pretty creepy :P
Are you thinking of going in cosplay, by any chance? My friends and I are planning on going as Hetalia characters, if you know it.
>>14 I don't know it, I'm afraid.
And I've never really cosplayed before. I suppose I'd like to, but finding the time effort and energy to put together a costume I imagine is hard. So, the jury is out on that one for the time being. Also, I have no idea if I could afford it and stuff, I don't know what my money situation will look like this far away from the event itself.
Still, I should be able to go for at least the Saturday, anyway, so see you there? For the first time, I mean.
Are the conventions any fun? I'm interested in going the next time there's one close(ish) to me but if it's a long journey it would have to be worth making the effort for. (Would anyone mind just summing up what it's like, plus any pros and cons or things to look out for?)
>>15 Aw, that's a shame :(
Hahah, well we're not exactly putting effort into it, I mean the idea of cosplaying for it was based entirely on the fact that I have a coat which looks vaguely like that of one of the characters... we're basically going with the "it looks sorta like this, so I'll use it" approach.
It'd be cool to see you, yeah!
