We all know the end is coming. Sooner or later the dead will rise and society will collapse. Where will you be when the end comes? What will you do to keep yourself safe?
My first plan is to take out a massive loan and get myself a fallout shelter stocked with a decade's worth of supplies as soon as there's even a slight hint of Z-day approaching. When society collapses I won't have to worry about paying back anything anyway.
My second plan takes more time to prep, as it invloves building a home somewhere in a forest. I'd dig out a deep cellar and stock it with supplies, create a wide perimeter around the house and make sure an underground reservoir of water is close enough to tap into without risking my life. Of course, I'll also build an extensive armory so I can defend myself from the undead if need be. A satellite connection will provide me with up to date accounts of thew outside world as long as the news stations last.
My third and final plan involves my eventual demise. In this one, I go out heavily armed and take as many undead with me as I possibly can. While I'm fighting I'll make my way to the home of my worst enemy, and when I start to get tired I'll get myself infected and sneak into his house. Then, when I reanimate, he'll be my first victim.
What are your zombie plans?
well, you've clearly given this some thought... i half hope it does happen just to see your plan put into action. be a shame for it to go to waste
First off all, get boomstick
Second, saw off hand with chainsaw
Third attack said chainsaw to stump
Hail to the king baby!
But seriously, I'd make my way to my old school as soon as possible. I went to a technical school with a whole bunch of bored people. What do bored people do then? Make weapons...
My old school was packed with makeshift weapons, ranging from hatchets to stunguns to crossbows.
Other then that my school has these massive oaken or steel doors everywhere. I'd like to see a zombie gnaw through that!
>>4 Can it be stocked with supplies? Are food and medical supplies around? If they are, you have one helluva fortress.
>>6
Wow, if I'm not a zombie by the time this happens, can I come with you? My dad's french polisher, so there are lots of potentially explosive things in the shed, like paint stripper, varnish remover, white spirit and glues. Not to mention saws, screwdrivers, drills and any number of tools. Even if they're not used for weapons, I'm sure that life on the Shetland Islands would require tools to fix stuff. Oh, there's also nails and bolts. These can be used as shrapnel in bombs.
See, I can help.
>>6 Do the Shetland islands have a ready supply of food? Can we fish there without fear of ghouls attacking? Furthermore, will the fish population meet the demands we place on it?
I'd just bury a hole in the ground and hide in it (headfirst), pretending that nobody can see me.
"If I can't see them, they can't see me!"
>>10 Can we provide the animals with enough food? Is the soil fertile enough or will we exhaust it quickly? How risky would it be to make trips to the mainland on a somewhat regular basis? While hiding out on an island is a good way to stay way from zombies, it does bring with it a host of problems. Furthermore, if a ship full of infected refugees sinks nearby, an island paradise might become a fresh hell.
>>11
These are all valid points.
I submit to you the idea that you will be first on the roasting spit... for being too clever for your own good.
At the end of the day, unless it's a worldwide infection from our 'island paradise' we should be able to establish some sort of communication to another country.. or in fact another group of survivors.
If it is a worldwide infection.. well.. what's the point in fighting?
>>12 I think I'll stay way from you, then, just to be sure I don't turn into dinner.
Even if the infection is worldwide, I'd still want to live as long as possible. Call me stupid, but the thought of dying isn't a very appealing one. Much less so dying and then coming back as some slouching monster.
But hey, if the island is big enough it can be turned into an awesome fortress, maybe even a beacon for other survivors at later stage, provided we have enough space and resources. If we don't, broadcasting anything at all would lead to all our deaths because people would find us and come to us for aid, which we wouldn't be able to give.
Of course, I won't be around at the time anyway, having been cannibalized by either the zombies or you, for being a smartass.
I'd head to the Winchester and wait for everything to blow over.
my zombie plans: Escape Earth, terraform Mars, and live in peace without zombies.
I have an adopted laptop and mp3 player, both cruelly sold by their owners in favour of the ipad. So yes, I have personal qualms about it.
On the other hand, it looks like it'd make a damn good frisbee. Even though it'd probably break the moment I touched it.
I would hop on a boat and go to Holden's island. If there's not room, then one of the other islanders will have an unfortunate accident and I'll come back a few days later to ask again.
I personally wouldn't like the Shetland islands. There too far north, so it would be too cold and the soil is off very poor quality. I think it would be easier to go to Gigha. It's got extremely good soil and it's own power supply. Plus if things get bad there it's only a short distance away from some other islands.
>>18
My island is where it's at... once we've got the whole situation under control... cocktails all round!
>>19
Issue with Gigha is that it's quite close to the main island, and very close to Glasgow, a lot of people populate the island and would try to evacuate and escape infection there.
I'll try my chances in the North Sea. I look awesome in knit wear.
Never build a permanent anything, if you gather all your supplies in one place and then it gets overun then that's valuable supllies wasted.
Position yourself somewhere where there will be lots of shops around, downotown would be best, you want to be able to have supplies in multiple locations so that if you need to get out of there you've got nothing permanent holding you back (like a house or a large supply stash or family for instance) and you can hideout in one of the nearby shops for a few nights.
NEVER go for money it's a desperate and hopless act (no builder is going to stand in the middle of a 28 days later set, building your latest defence system no matter how much you pay him)
Guns are not a necessity as you can always run out of ammo or experience mechanical problems not to mention all the attention gunshots bring. If possible head over to medieval switzerland and grab yourself a pike, those things are the shit.
The key thing to remember is you need the ability to move quickly in any situation and still leave yourself with something to fall back on supply wise.
>>21 Well tbh in the face of post-humanity blues I'd probably just get high as fuuuuck, head down to the local library and literally shit in the face of modern literature so that future scholars will never be able to piece together the mysteries of the past, my final fuck you to the world :D
>>20 Fashion is always something you must consider in these circumstances. I personally want to gain a pair of dungarees and a bobble hat if this happens so I can fit my choochter persona.
Although it is geographically close to Glasgow, it is as tough as hell to get to. You have to travel on very tough and twisty roads to get there for three hours and the slipway for the ferry is hidden. It's population is tiny compared to the Shetland islands, which is in the thousands. Not many people know about it as well, so not many people will travel there. There is a base near by in Machrihanish so the chances are the army will be near by if you need them.
Also it's really near me, so it wouldn't take long at all for me to get there and out of danger.
