I've been watching 'Interview with a Poltergeist' and was wondering, do you believe in ghosts, and why?
Nah, I don't. Sorry to be boring, but they don't exist.
lol, it's cool. I'm a complete cynic myself, but I find people's experiences and beliefs interesting.
I am quite open to the idea of ghosts but whenever I hear about somebody's 'encounters' with the paranormal, I can't help but think that there are a hundred logical explanations behind them.
I believe in something, I'm just not sure what. I've had experiences...
I believe in ghosts...I've never had an encounter with one but...It's nice to believe that maybe some relative who you never got to see is still around as a spirit...
...I never got to meet my Grandad, so it's nice to say that maybe he's still around somewhere with my mum :)
I believe in ghosts. I can feel the presence of ghosts. (Kinda)
If human spirits exist, they don't die so what happens to a soul that still has a bond with someone/something on earth? They protect them. Guardian angels exist, too.
Once you do a ouija board and your friend gets haunted and then you do it again to get rid of it and then it starts haunting you. Then when people connected you start dying. You generally start to believe in them...
well what can anyone say? I'm not sure myself.
When my grandfather died 8 years ago, the night of the funeral, I saw him in my dream while his coffin was in the living-room [but I am always strange with dreams so it might not count]
then at the morning after we did he typical offer of a black coffee and brandy,to the attendants in our house a bird just get in the hall then turned and flied out.
a week from his death, me being light sleeper, I woke up at 3 in the morning only to hear my grandfather's toilet routine, steps, opening of the door, flushing the toilet after a while. there was no one else in his house at that night.
also about a month or saw later, my mother[who doesn't see dreams regularly] in a afternoon nap she saw my grandfather in a dream, being happy, dressed like he was attending a wedding or something, hugging her and kissing etc and she woke up by the ring of the phone, the phone call was from my brother telling her that he graduated from university. and quite a lot more dreams with dead ppl are being said around the neighborhood.
Who really knows human mind works strangely
I swear they exist because me and my friend Liam were in our art class one day and then right in the middle of our table the paint pot started to move between us. I looked up to Liam and smiled thinking it was a joke and then we both realised that no one was touching it or anything. It was full of water and all and it bloody well scared us both. No doubts, NOT AT ALL! Plus our school has a record of someone dying there and it scares us!
I think that they do. I always entertained myself with the idea. What if we never die, just pass from one dimension to another? My dad always put these ideas into my head and I admit I don't stop thinking about them. I believe in aliens too if that's not wierd enough.
nope.
I don't want to believe in them either. Believing in ghosts would mean that when I die I'll stay here on earth to watch other people live or even haunt them (if I feel like haunting people for some reason). it would also mean that I am being watched as we speak,
Some people visit haunted houses and get a bad vibe or get scared by particular sounds they hear.... but that bad vibe could easily be fear and the sounds could be sounds you usually miss to recognize because you're not paying attention to them.
They could exist (ghosts I mean) but I refuse to believe in them
I don't think there is nearly enough proof. I'm as unconvinced about ghosts as I am the Loch Ness monster. I quite like ghosts stories and films though.
I'm a scientist. I generally do not believe in anything that isn't empirical or even visible. I however do believe that there is something more than that. Otherwise, a lot of space has been wasted. I do think SOMETHING happens with the deceased ones, but pondering about what particularly, makes me wanna whail - it is one of these things I don't even have a clue about. I hate not having a clue about something.
I don't see any logical reason for the existence of ghosts; in the same way I couldn't fairies. Something like God you could argue for ('intelligent design') but ghosts just seem pointless. It seems like something to scare people with, or to give hope of an afterlife.
I belive in ghosts, i think it's a beliving type of thing, if your a scientist and only belive in logical explainations then i think that they would never get a logical explaination, therefore they probably won't belive, but if you have a wild mind or are all for magic and stuff like that or even just anyone who doesn't care about 'Logical' then yes they might belive in ghosts it's just a belief type of thing. Or so i think.

I'm not sure, when my nan died her husband dreamt that he was in a garden with a woman, she had her back to him and he never saw her face, when he woke up he saw his wife and knew she was dead, we had the funeral at the local crematorium, and he told us the garden outside was the same one from his dream.
Later on that week my aunt died, we were in the car, driving past my nan's old house, and my three year old sister waved out of the window at nothing, when we asked her what she was waving at she told me that she was waving goodbye to our nan, who was apparently standing in a summer dress waving to her, something similar to this happened later with my aunt.
Also when I was young I remember going to see my nan a about a week after my grandad had died, and I remember seeing him sat in his chair by the fire, but was only about four and so thought nothing of it.
And after all of these 'encounters' I am still skeptical as to the existance of ghosts. I'm not sure why I just don't believe that there is anything else after death.
I do believe in 'em.
For me and my family it's very natural they exist, so I was quite surprised when in high school I met people who -didn't- believe in them :P.
Which is absolutely fine; as long as I don't try to convince them that they do exist, and they don't try to convince me they don't :).
I believe in ghosts, I saw one when I was 11.
I'm not delusional! I really saw him/her.
I was on camp with school and went to get some anti-mosquito spray, and then when I got it and turned around, there he/she stood, a white wraith in a long nightgown(Boys used to wear nightgowns too in the 19th century that's why I say he/she)
I was freaking out inside, but from the outside I went completely blank, I couldn't move and was paralyzed. After a time I could get enough courage to move and ran to the stairs, when I turned around the ghost was gone.
It was the scariest thing I've ever gone trough... wait it wasn't but oh well... I'm not gonna tell you that (Sorry XD)
Yes!! I do, Ive saw one, she was victorian, and I a obsessed with spirits.
Ive seen one, read about them, watch shows on them, I know everything about them!! :)
I believe in ghosts I have two theories
ghosts are left over energies/memories of people/animals that became visible
They are earthbound spirits waiting for someone or something
not everyone becomes a ghost when they die because then death would be pointless so why die... but sometimes they have unfinished business
my mum used to see a ghost in her town loads of people saw it she herself was only young (4/5) but even the grown ups saw the ghost.
I kinda saw a ghost once it was on a clip I was watchin
there was a guy filming on his own in a supposedly haunted cabin he kept hearing bangs an knocks and a one point something was presumable thrown and flew past him the guy turned the camera toward the object and then back to his face about half way I saw something a reflection i though but I paused it anyway and it took me a few tries to get it right but I paused it at the right moment and there's this man floating/standing there... it couln't have been a reflection because it was pitchblack and there was only one person there who was also on cam and the man was only half there, just his top half could be seen
So I believe that was a ghost and the weirdest (worst) thing about it was the guy in the cabin actually never saw that thing it was so weird just I saw it but he didn't.... WTF
I very much believe in ghosts, in fact, I've seen a ghost once when I was five, and yes, I'm sure it wasn't a prank. Also, I've gone on multiple ghost hunts in Gettysburg PA where I was poked by a ghost and god was that the experience of my life.
yes, I've seen a lady in a white dress surrounded by a scary green light
I do believe in them, I never saw one myself but it's somewhat in the familly, my grandfather died when my mother was 16, due to cancer. when my brother was 5 he came downstairs to tell my mom there was a man sitting on his bed, introducing himself as our grandfather and he said he wanted to get to know us.
also, my mom went on vacation with a friend and when they got back her friend said she would skip next time because she had kept seeing a purple like glow near my mom, which my mom explained had been her foster mom (my mother left her home at the age of 17,)
as for myself I've never really seen one, I did feel it a few times, and it has never been a bad experience. however I have a friend who doesn't believe in them or Illusionist and stuff claiming it's just our minds going weird (you can see she's more of the scientific explanations stuff) and she's very determined to convince me, I'm always trying to avoid the subject because of that XD
They exist.
When I was little, I saw this man in my house almost every night. He didn't have a face or any details like clothes, he was just a colorful silhouette. He'd stand outside my cedroom door and do that peekaboo thing where they move out of sight for a few seconds... I wonder what happened to him
Also, i was sitting in the living room studying. It was, like, three in the morning and everyone else was asleep. I heard a voice right next to me but no one was there. Just recently my dad was woken up by the voice of a little girl. I'm eighteen and the only girl in the house.
My mother can see ghosts. Shortly before I was born the ghost would dance on the table and throw balls at our dog.
Her name was Amelia and she and her daughter had died in the house years before my parents bought it.
When I was born she used to come into my room and stand next to my bed, staring down at me.
My grandmother knew a friend of her was a medium and she told the ghost to go away.
And apparently, when I was little, I used to play with an 'imaginary' friend. Only the way I described that friend was so detailed that my mother went to search for someone with that description. Turns out that my description stronlgy resembled the daughter of Amelia
Now, my mother hasn't been seeing or hearing things anymore untill lately. Yesterday or so she was alone in the house and she could swear she heard footsteps on the attic (where my brothers sleep). And the last week I wake up in the middle of the night because I have the feeling something's watching me. And once my door opened all out of its own.
I don't know what to believe, but when you have a mother that can persumably see ghost you tend to believe it as well.
A door opening on its own is definitely some cause for concern, given the unprecedented nature of such an event.
I believe in them, or would like to. Somehow, most people I know are incredibly skeptical, but when I tell them I want to use a ouija board to see what'll happen they all go, "No, don't, it's too dangerous."
Once, when I was 11 or so, I saw a ghost. I looked out the window and saw the silhouette of a man wearing a hat walking past a street light. No, it wasn't a living person for two reasons.
1: It wasn't three dimensional, it was a shadow on the ground.
2: The head of the silhouette pointed towards the source of the light, not away from it. There were no other light sources nearby, nor a tree with long enough branches to obscure the light.
