Hi there, so... When I'm talking to other fanfic writers, I often get to hear that they're jealous of the number of fandoms I've written for - 31. However, I'm not so sure about that being so ridiculously much. I've seen authors write for 400+ with nearly 600 stories. How many fandoms have you guys written for?
Wow, that's strange, I've never heard of someone being jealous of how many fandoms someone has posted in. Maybe how many reviews or something...
Personally, I've posted for 4 fandoms, but I have plans for about 11 more.
I still can't get over that, that is so strange...
>>2 I agree - totally weird! As long as they're well-written fics, and the author actually finishes them (don't get me started - there's an author in one fandom with about 40 unfinished fics!) I don't see that it matters what fandom or how many.
The only thing I'm ever jealous of with other authors is if they write a really good fic and I wish I'd written it!!
Personally, I've written for two fandoms, and I'm planning a fic for a third. I prefer to stick to what I know well, like fandoms I really like, and characters that I'm really familiar with so I can keep them in-character.
I write for one exclusively, with maybe crossovers into it: Naruto.
This is the first time I've heard of this, and I have written for over thirty fandoms myself. However, I also have too many that aren't finished, which is why I haven't started any new stories. I've got tons of ideas floating around my head.
>>3 Yeah, I only get jealous of other people's good fics. I so often read stories and wish I could write as well as them! I've written for six fandoms, but two are little one shots and so hardly count. I must admit I do admire people who are versatile and creative enough to write for many fandoms, and I have this somewhat odd and unexplainable desire to write for as many fandoms as possible myself. I need to be more organised in my writing before I get too ambitious as >>2 says, I don't wnat to be an author with loads of unfinished fics.
From what I can remember and counting the fanfic that's currently in the works for NaNoWriMo, I've written for around five fandom.
