I really want to be a parapsychologists but I'm not sure of the salary. Can anyone help me?
I wanna be a photographer~
I wanna be a writer, computer graphics designer or pshycologist (yeah they're very different but what can I say, I like variety.)
Writer, Mosher, (I have a friend, when his band goes on tour he'l pay me to be in the mosh pits)
Or a chef
I wanna be a forensic scientist, but if that doesn't work, wanna be a criminal profiler. Yeah, I wanna fight crime, but not in a dangerous way :)
Forensic Pyschologist/Criminal Profiler.
I want to be a forensic scientist (working with fingerprints and DNA) who writes in her spare time. you know like Pratisha (have i spelt that write?) Cornwall (i think thats spelt wrong too hang on)Patricia Cornwell is the correct way. I looked on her website! http://www.patriciacornwell.com/
Writer, Pycologicist, Cirminal profiler (not use if that acutlly a job) or ...I have no idea.
I want to be a film director and make wonderfully weird films like Tim Burton. If that doesn't pan out I would like to be a journalist and then if that doesn't pan out, I'll be a teacher.
Lazer Tattoo Removal
Grave Keeper
Turtle Farmer
Massage Therapist
I don't want any damn NORMAL jobs. pshhh.
taller
>>12 lol good one
journalist or a caterer, an author once i have a stable career
Hmmm... I don't know for sure, though writing is definitely an option. If that doesn't work, it'll be something that has to do with math and/or computers. :D
Myself, only more so.
I'd like to be a dentist
I know that whatever I'm going to be, I won't like it that much
I mean seriously, who likes to work?
So I'm gonna be in a field where you can make good money and help the society
I can be pretty squeamish but I'm going to try to overcome that ^.^

Well shockingly as I'm 19, I'm technically all grown up. But I would love to be a writer for a job, however I'd also like to be a journalist
I am a grown-up. LOL No, I'd like to be forensic ballistics expert, but rules first need be bent a bit for me, then, since I'm wearing glasses and you're technically not allowed if you do.
lawyer
a bit of a boring dream for a 14-year-old I suppose lol
Grown-up? Well, I'm technically an adult, but if I acted like one all the time, I wouldn't be writing fanfiction, would I?
It's a bit scary when I think about it, but someone's decided I'm actually responsible enough to teach schoolkids.
Currently in Uni studying to be an Automotive Engineer.
YAY FUN! I love the subject, I bloody hate the lessons haha.
I wanna write as a hobby though, hopefully publish one day.
A scientist or a writer. Or both. At twenty-four, technically I'm already grown up.
I personally think a person has completed their "growing up" once they're in their thirties.
Game designer, although I will never be grown up
I am a child at heart
I wanna do something to do with forensics, but not ballistics or anything. the actual human remains part of forensics really intrigues(sorry if i spelt that wrong!) me. oh, what a dream for a thirteen year old! what can i say, i am VERY mature for my age!
I really want to be some sort of designer and/or artist, an author, a politician or a journalist, director or similar, but I know those fields are really competitive and don't always pay well. I don't want to sound like I'm boasting or anything but I think I'd have the brains to be something else related to science, english or languages of it really came to it, but I'd much rather spend my life doing something creative. I'm choosing my GCSEs next term, HELP!
I'd really love to go into post-grad research, something into research for sustainable models enabling Third World countries to provide some sort of free basic health and education for all..., wow that sounds really specific.
Yeah I wanna change the world, speaking of which have you visited WaterAid yet....http://www.wateraid.org/uk/ :D
I want to be a screen play writer for the BBC when I grow up. I want to be able to write stuff equal to Python.
Lets see:
To Izzy, they were taking about that whats are the most competitive fields to go for unis and for jobs last year and they stated that science is competitive as well. For GSCE choices, I'd stay away from art unless you really love it.
I love it and am doing an art course and sometimes if it wasn't the only thing I'd truly put an 150 % (which it always demands) I'd just die...
Illustrator, am doing an art college course now and then hopefully going on for an art uni course. Yes I know its suicide...
Animator
Producer/DJ
Writer
Technically I already do all that stuff but I'd like to get payed for it in the future
I wanted to be a doctor for like 15 years but then I went to a lecture they gave to potential med students at University of Bristol and about 90% of the people there were just twats with a serious case of USI syndrome (unwarranted self importance) that was pretty much the ultimate turn off for me plus I'm waaaaay too lazy for a job like that anyways
Ruler of the World. <Evil Laughter goes here>
That would require far too much effort though and take over the world schemes never seem to work, so I'm hoping to be a teacher of English as a Foreign Language.
I want to be a psychologist. I also want to be an author.
I want to either do something in media or law. i heard its incredibly hard to get into the media industary (according to my media teacher). i wanted to choose law for GCSE, but since it was an unrecognised GCSE, it was dropped. (Drama was also dropped!) i'm doing Geography, french and media for GCSE.
i also want to be an author or an actress.
if i don't manage that, i'll try to be a journalist or a solisitor.
i used to want to be a librarian, but i changed my mind.
so its either author, actress, solisitor or journalist.
any advice? (by the way i'm 14, incase you're wondering)
It sounds actually ... quite stupid for me to be saying this. And soooo cliche.
I want to be an author :) It'd just be too cool. My plan is to go to my local college to do English Literature, Psychology, Classics and Art. Then I want to move onto Manchester University to do Creative Writing 60% and English Literature 40% (my back up plan is teaching English Literature at a college - because you have to have done 40% of the subject you want to teach if you want to be a teacher). After that, I want to move to London for a bit, just because I want to go there. Then hopefully (later in life), I will move to Japan - to write books and just travel really :)
It'd be awesome if that happened :)
I would like to study Eng Lit and become a teacher, but as so many people are convincing me it's not a reliable route to go down, something sciency seems more likely. I'll probably apply to medicine. Oh well, I've a whole year to decide anyway :)
Hmm...
Either a Secondry School English Teacher or...
an Equine Expert! Or maybe an animal trainer? Oh well, I'm always a Professional Doodler at heart (if only that was a real job :3)
I want to own my own art gallery.
But it's a world of difficult to get into the art business :(
I want to be one of the X-men. Lol, no, an astro-physisist.
My dream job would be a theoretical physicist, but more realistically, probably an underling in a lab or something else to do with science. Yay science geekiness! B]
Heh. Yeah, apparently I just won a part-scholorship for science and maths, so I'm loving the geekiness right now.
Well done! -high fives-
I'm going to get as close to my dream as ever possible and become an infantry officer in the British Army!
Writer, Games designer or an artist :)
However...I write and draw in my spare time and me and my friends have sorta got a grip on the games design thing...
So I guess I have my future planned out (and I'm only 16...)
>>47 Impressive. Congrats on having a life plan!
@48 cheers :) I figured it out when I was about...13 maybe 14 could be 15...Somwhere around that age ^_^'
Heh. I decided (sort of) when I was...15? Which is about a year ago now.
I shall be a caterpillar. If the six year old in the advert says it is possible, it is possible. Failing that, I shall turn to my lifelong passion for investment banking. Negative equity makes my heartbeat quicken in ways no mere mortal can imagine.
FTSE beckons. Away, I must.
...you have fun with that. And make sure to get a nice big bonus!
Health Psychologist or Mental Health Nurse - I want to be of help to society as much as possible, yet looking at the list above, it seems like the area of psychology is rather busy already ...
I wanted to be a Criminal Psychiatrist,
But now I'm not so sure.
I want to go into journalism now,
I really have no idea |:
Im looking to train as a counsellor, if i can ever get into the college course. Can we say embarassingly overbooked?
Doctor, psychiatrist or counsellor. I also loved the idea of MI5 and that kinda crap :p
@ Efyraa: I'm into that as well- criminology. I have psychology, too. Maybe you should buy a starters book of Zimbardo if it interests you so much? It's nicely written and fun to read.
Somthing in forensics, working in the field or in a lab, somthing to do woth science.
Author... hopefully, I'll make it...=)
When I grow up I want to be someone who starts threads in the area they're actually supposed to go in.
... Actually, I plan to be an economist.
>>58 Same here. I love science, but I still don't know where to go with it yet. And it doesn't help that I have conflicting interests. Hmmm, science and interior design. Rather random mix, if I must say so myself.
When I grow up, I want to be a better person and live a fulfilled, happy life and not take it for granted.
x
theraputic cloner, or something genetics based
hi i am the maker of this wonderful webistes friend so nice to see yu i would love to be a poet and photographer
theatrical make up artist, going on to study it this year
Forensic Anthropologist.
And starting October this year I'm gonna learn everything about the subject.
Just gotta pass my A-levels first.
And the whole having to go to Liverpool thing. Lol.
Something in microbiology or biochemistry. I'm leaning towards microbiology though - I do love my bacteria!
... Why yes, I am insane. My friends are convinced that I'm going to be a mad scientist.
I plan to go to Oxford and read PPE, then earn shedloads of money (hopefully) and buy a Chateau in France so I can peacefully become an author.
I'd love to be a writer (la duh) but i'd settle for being a doctor. I love to act as well but I think this is too ambitious really.
Yikes, I've wanted to be so many things the past few years.
I want to be a sports physiotherapist but I keep changing my mind that I want to be a psychiatrist. Anything that involves psychology or biological science interests. I did want to be a pathologist but, meh, I don't know if I'd be able to take it.
I would love to be an intrepretor. That is my dream job lol
When i was younge,r i was determined to become a vet, but that was before i knew about the operations, the blood, etc.
When i did eventually find out about the gory extras, i quickly found a new dream. Becoming an actress!
It seemed simple enough.. Read a script, be on TV, eventually be hired to be lead female in a multi-million movie and be famous. But ofcourse, that's not the case.
Right now...a writer would be my absaloute dream job. But i wouldn't mind becoming a phycologist either :)
xx
I plan on being a Journalist, with writing books on the side. But I'm only just finishing my GCSE's, so, I've still got time to choose :)

I'm 36 and I still haven't decided what I want to be when I grow up as I chose the wrong career and now want to change it!!!
I'd like to be a higher education history lecturer...but I'd settle for 16+, gcse at a push.
I really want to be a lawyer.
Mostly because i grew up watching loads of crime and forensic drama and reading stuf like Nancy Drew. I actually used to want to be a forensic scientist but blood kinda freaks me out.
a ho
>>77 Blood freaks you out and yet
Valkyrie: the norse equivalent of an angel who would carry dead warriors off of a battlefield
and
Vamp: Short for, I presume, vampire, meaning someone who drinks blood.
eh?
I have no idea and that's why I'm afraid of growing up...
I want to be an author :] I'm only 15 but my plan so far is: Finish my book (75,000 words so far) before I go to College, and when I get to Sixth Form I want to start my second book and take Art, History, English (compulsory :/) and Photography A-Levels, then go on to another nearby college to do Film Studies. After that I want to go to Uni, but I have no idea what I want to do there :L I was thinking of being a doctor. And somewhere inbetween all that, publish my first book :L x
An illustrator. I love writing and drawing, but there's more of a market for artists and keeping art flowing is easier then keeping fiction going for me.
I want to be a detective and have wanted to be one since I was 10!!!
a marketing designer i love creating things
i make my own covers for my fanfics
>>83 RayRay is right.
If you want to go to Uni and be a doctor straight after sixth form, you're going to need science A-Levels. Usually, most universities want one science (either Chemistry or Biology if you want to be a doctor) and a Maths A-level. Either that or two sciences, followed by another A-Level of your choice. So, unless you take at least two of those, then you probably wont be able to be a doctor unless you take an equivalent qualification. (Trust me, I know. I'm 16 and planning on going into medicine. I'm doing Maths, Biology, Chemistry and English A-Levels this year in order to get there :P)
But going on what you said you wanted to take in your A-Levels, you're probably more suited to a more creative job than a doctor, in my personal opinion.
I want to be a physicist and specilise in quantum mechanics, I also want to be an artist, decisions, decisions.... :)
I'm sure I'll manage to decide before I start A levels
Ready growth up! But I'm back at university studying environmental science. So something in that field, aboard preferred as the weather in this country has finally got to me!!!!!!!
I have gone through College and Uni only to have everything I have leant go to waste, I do not want to work with computers; my only passion is for writing so that is why I carry on writing fanfics to refine my writing style, so when I write my own stories they will be great.
I will be a pirate.
Failing that, I'll be a graphic novelist.
I recently had to change my plans. The police force where I live aren't running cadet campaign this year, so I can't start with them. I think I'm going to go to college now, do a few A-levels, and maybe a BTEC.
Forensics.
I do have another job that I'd love to do, but meh, that involves actually getting through education first XD.
I want to be either:
A Zoologist
A Biologist
An Artist
An explorer
A Geologist
or a spy.
I still have a long time to wait, since I am only 14.
I've been all over the place. I used to be really sciency and wanted to be a doctor and whatnot. Now I want to be a journalist. Magazines and radio please, thanks.
I so wanna be a cartoonist! Art's what I'm best at, then English... But, Yay art!
When I was a kid I really wanted to be a Vet but even though I got A*'s in my GCSE's for all related subjects I decided that I really hated them. I moved on to Performing and the art's for my A levels (much to my dad's disapproval). It had been something I'd been doing a hell of a lot of all my life anyway, from dancing to acting and singing, and now I'm doing a drama degree at uni. I'm in a band and I play regular solo sessions at my local piano bar and take part in any short films/plays I can get my hands on. I also get paid write magazine reviews about books/shows/films I've read/seen and I absolutley love it. I know it's a really sketchy industry but hopefully I'll get where I want to be in the end...
Meh, I don’t know. How am I supposed to know?
I could be a tramp or something. I’ll live in a skip, collect odd shoes that people have lost and put them inside paper bags that are inside plastic bags that are inside boxes that are inside one of those little trolleys that only old ladies and tramps seem to own. Or not.
I’ll do what I do. I just don’t know what that is yet.
And if all of the above doesnt work out I'll be a call girl or an assasin... yeahh
Not a clue. I don't excel in a single subject, instead being pretty all round. Something to do with english or history.
An Author
Teach English in Japan
A Journalist
A Teacher
Or something that has something to do with English.
Meh, I'm fourteen so I'm not 100% sure on some of them.
When I was at school I wanted to be an artist and a write and then I wanted to be an archaeologist. So I did an archaeology degree which was fun, then I got a 'proper' job. After a lot of years I escaped and now I am a writer in my spare time, I write for work too (not very creative but still writing) so I got there in the end. Now I like being me.
Argh a typo - I wanted to be a writer not a write!! Obviously copy editing is not my forte.
I am 13, yeah I have no idea. My brother is doing work experience this year, which I will be doing next year. I get good grades, mostly A's so I was thinking lawyer, doctor maybe?
I am 13, yeah I have no idea. My brother is doing work experience this year, which I will be doing next year. I get good grades, mostly A's so I was thinking lawyer, doctor maybe?
Actually... I don't excel in anything so I don't know...
Hmmmm....I've always wanted to be an Egyptologist, it's always interested me, I love everything about ancient Egypt it's fascinating.
I have the GCSE grades for it since I got B's and higher, it's trying to find a uni which is the problem...the only one is in Liverpool which is frustrating :/
I wanted to either be a policeman, plumber (after the Mario Bros.), stuntman or a bounty hunter (just like Jango!). Instead, I started out as a grease monkey at a Vauxhall garage and then I became a photographic salesperson. All good fun while I've still got the will to live.
Author. Okay everyone reading this and going uncreative, most people chose that but I just want to be that. Before I move to my town and started school (in middle of Yr3) I wasn't a good reader nor writer. And then when I we were watching a film on writing with Michael Morpurgo in it I suddenly wish to be an author. My first story was babyish and hardly anywords but my reading improved and in Yr4 I was reading A little Princess. I wasn't sure what happen around that time but soon I was always wrting and through my stories weren't that good to begin with slowly they process. This is amazing as I generally give up straight away when I'm not good at something. So seeing as writing wasn't what I gave up on and now it's my whole character I really want to be an author.
I really want to be a editor/publisher. I like the idea that you get to read books, work with authors and make peoples dreams of have published books a reality. Eventually I want to be an author and have my own books published, but I've really got to improve my writing first. I used to want to be a teacher, but then I got to secondary school (and mine was an awlful one - one of the worst in my region) and I quickly change my mind. I just would not have been able to cope. I also at some point wanted to be film composer, but then realised I wasn't as good at composing as I had thought.
I'll never grow up!!
My childhood dreams were
1) Flight Attendant
2) Teacher
3) Paediactric Nurse
I've been a flight attendant since I was 18, now at nearly 26 I've seen enough and ready to do the second thing on my list, which was Be a teacher...I start my new teaching job in september which is cool - cant wait to clip my wings and be grounded.
>> 102 My New job is Teaching English in China, good luck with Teaching in Japan!!
1) Teacher for English as a foreign language.
2) Teacher for English in secondary schools.
I've most likely got a place waiting for me in South Korea for 1), though I have to make sure I finish all my assignments so I graduate first!
I am studying to be a food technologist
I'm studying to be a social worker right now...
But my dream is to be a professional writer.. first step has been taken since my book has been published hehe, writing a second one now :)
I want to be a mangaka or seiyuu, it's just a dream so it probably will not come true V___V.
So the other jobs I'm serious about are:
-Detective
-Forensic Scientist
-Lawyer
-Game Designer/Character Designer
I'm pretty ambitious haha, I definitley want to go for med at imperial in two years time, to become a consultant (doctor), but I would love to publish my work, become a Stephenie Meyer ;) but dancing is my passion, bollywood dancing, I'd love that to become a professional career, with KSpark (karanlive.com) and I adore singing, just got a distinction in my grade 6 XD and wouldn't it be totally cool to be signed to a record label and have YOUR voice on the radio every morning and people knowing your name...?
See, I am ambitious XD
lol
x
