Same deal as it was the first time; what was your first fanfic about, and how has your writing changed since then?
Again, mine was an incredibly short, incredibly angsty, and incredibly mediore Halo fic about Linda. My writing has changed in that I don't like to write about angst anymore. :)
Oh God. My first fanfiction was a Zelda fanfiction called "Drowning In Pain" and I posted it on both dA and ff. D: When I look back, I'm very disappointed (well, not very, just a little) and it's full of lots of angst. You can smell the angst from a mile away, seriously.
I wrote it back in 2007, but my writing has improved a lot since then. I still write angst, but mostly romance, haha. (I'm a geek for the lovey-dovey romance stuff). But anyway, the fic has gotten me into writing more, getting into new fandoms and meeting new, amazing people (mostly from ff)!
My first one that I posted was Attachment in Harvest Moon ff. I'm still pretty ok with it, because I only posted it about a year ago. Yeah, I'm still pretty new. :D
But the first one I ever wrote... that was for Starseige and it was a really, incredibly long time ago. I read it sometimes, and I'm thankful that I didn't know about fanfiction websites at the time.
first fic ever
"Heaven's in Love"
it is up to 16000 words fic and it still is my best fic ever.
my writing style improved a lot since them but i have worked really hard for that fic so it is a really good one and written in decent english.
Ah my first fanficiton was Naruto: Fox of Heaven and Hell.
An awesome fic with many crossovers and intricate side plots.
However the dialogue was cheesy and there were too many plot holes that were going to be explained later on that readers couldn't wait for so I now am in the process of rewriting it.
At first I was going to be nice to Sasuke, but this time I'll just make him the doomed evil destined to fail.
Sakura will get good treatment though.
Well I was reading fanfiction before I even knew what it was! I've been writing stories for as long as I remember, but my first real "fan" fiction was put up to ff.net in 2007... I think it was my random Friends/Tomb Raider crossover "The One With All The Tomb Raiders". I don't write for these genres any more, all I'm writing at the moment is Super Mario Brothers angst, which is purely disturbing if you don't understand me. And I think I've improved mostly with things like grammar.
first story huh...it would be a digimon fic, started it like..3 or so years ago, still working on it, along with 4 other fics...problem is, starting to lose interest in it.
at the moment i have 5 stories going with some singles.
I first wrote fanfiction when I was in 7th grade. It was a 20 chapter fifty page story. It was my first Sonic/Halo official crossover too but I never fully explained plot details such as how they got there and all that. When I saw how well recieved it was, I started my fanfic boom that still continues to this day, making much more lore which eventually resulted in me writing a Bible so to speak that's a WIP on ff.net
I think my first fanfic was a Labyrinth one, rapidly followed by a Supernatural fic. I hate both of them now and keep meaning to go back and rework them, I just get distracted by other fics and work. Too much going on in my brain all at once!
Ugh. My very first fanfiction published was POSITIVE, in the fandom of CSI:Miami. It counted about 2,370 words. It was a great piece of crap.
my first fanfiction was a Warhammer Inquisitor story, about 7 pages long and resulted in the main character being killed and the redemption of a bad guy, i liked it when i first wrote it but now i look at it and just think "oh dear god what was i thinking."
my first fanfic was a torchwood story. It was loosly based on the doctor's daughter (Dr Who) and was fun to write at the time, as I was hooked on the Torchwood thing. Looking at it now, I just think, 'good idea then, not so good now'. It's called 'Knight in Shining Armour' and I haven't taken it down, it's a memory I like to think I can improve on.
My writing style has changed so much, and I'm glad it has.
My first fanfic was a disaster! I wrote a fanfic about Fairly Odd Parents and it was called 'Troubles in the past'. My English grammar and spelling wasn't so good back then, so that was a disaster, but the rest of the whole story was a disaster too.
I'm really glad that I learned how I needed to write proper English and that I really made some progress the last 2-3 years.
my first fanfic was god-awful, in my opinion. i couldn't stick to the plot worth a damn and finished it with a summary chapter just to kill it. i couldn't take it anymore. surprisingly, people liked it.
First fanfic......I don't even want to think about it! Absolutely awful piece of writing for a Naruto story staring Kakashi/OC pairing.
However the first fanfic I wrote and uploaded had to be Hellsing; "Sympthony of the Night" which actually went well but now I look over it I know I could have done better.
Amalgam Comics, finishing a story set in the 1940's which another writer started and never finished. Not my best work, but I don't think my style has changed all that much.
I lost my frist fanfiction, but I think it was a Naruto songfic.
My first one was....I honestly can't remember but after i deleted my old fics it was a Zemyx Kingdom Hearts one that was incredibly shot. Called Attack of the Demyx I think, well it was that or a Naruto one :S
My first fanfic was a Twilight one which I'm still working on and will eventually re-do once I've figured out the entire plot and how things will work.
My first fanfic ... I don't even like to think of it! It was a story about Serena and Darien in Sailor Moon and how they were coping with being King and Queen of the World. My grammar, punctuation, and spelling was horrific.
I'm ashamed to say that I still love the story though :)
oh god mine was hideous it was a crossover fic between starwars and alien vs predator everything was bad in it spelling, grammar everthing
i don't remember which fanfic exactly, was my first (i posted three the same day) but even after perhaps a year since i posted them i still get coments or 'fanfic favorites' for one or more of those three stories. so my forst fics couldn't have been that bad. (first fics were for Inuyasha. recent fics for D.gray-man).
Actually... My first fanfic is so old that I don't remember it at all. I do remember, however, MSTing an older fanfic of mine. And I remember, far later on, reading that MST and thinking... "This MST is pretty bad. Not as bad as the fanfic, but..." So my first fanfic is so old that my self-MSTs are ancient.
I do remember one of my older Sailor Moon fanfics though. The main character was, essentially, me... if I could run around the forest without shoes on. The rest of the cast were rip-offs of Otaku Senshi I found online. The plotline was goofy, from what I remember: all the characters were siblings of the canon Senshi during the Silver Millennium cringe and now there was a war between the older sibligns and their sisters. Actually, that was the plan, but when I started writing it, I ended up with non-canon villains.
I lost all my original fanfics. I really want them back, even though they're probably not the best...
My first ever fanfic was written for 'Battle of the Planets,' an Americanized adaptation of the anime 'Gatchaman.' I think I was in 7th grade when I wrote it and it was light years beyond bad. I am so grateful that it's been consumed by some landfill in New Jersy. Mercifully, no one but me ever read it.
My first was One Piece: a Humorous Revenge. I barely remember what it was about, though I think it had something to do with the Strawhat crew(up to Robin) being captured by marines...anyway, somewhere along the way I lost it. It was written awfuly, and was really short (not to mention the fact that it was incomplete) but I really wish I still had that story to refer back to.
I believe I posted it on FFnet, and if i'm not mistaken, it was based on a filler from the anime, because I didn't even know there was such thing as manga at the time XD
Ah, looking back on it now, it just makes me laugh (and by "it" I, of course, mean my stupidity :P)
My first fanfic is still on going :3 it's a DNAngel, Maximum Ride crossover. Since then I've started 3 more stories, one which I haven't published yet cuz two ongoing ones are crazy enough. lol
Since I've began writing my grammer is constantly criticised which has helped me improve a lot on my later chapters and since I just want to get the whole story writen down, corrections can wait until I've finished it...and probably a bit of re-writing as well.
My first fanfic was the Covenant: Damnation which is a fanfic I based around the covenant.
So far it is incomplete as I have lots more chapters coming up but if you want to check it out then go ahead, :D I am pretty new to fanfiction.net but I have already developed a passion for it :D
Mine was a Twilight one where I just leapt into and had in the end Bella getting hit by a bus...
I still haven't learned and I still leap into plots that haven't been planned out and I still have a lot of car accidents and really badly abuse my characters...
My first Fanfiction is still in progress but on the third 'part' which is almost done. It's ultimately based around Naruto but I've crossed over with many things during the story.
Through the portal:
Oh great, I'm 3 again
Do I have to grow up?
Flying solo, but am I flying free?
It's been almost two years and I remember exactly when I started it. Well the lesson I was sat in, bored out of my mind.
My first fanfic was a Digimon one - about eight years ago when I was fifteen. I already had a decent grasp on story writing because I was an avid reader and was read to a ridiculous amount as a kid (linked to eventual strong writing skills), and I had already been writing consistently the last couple of years. My spelling was excellent and the story format was fine, although my grammar needed a little work - especially in the realm of commas. I also didn't understand semi-colons then and thus decided never to use them.
Beyond that, however, it was when I learned that Mary Sue characters weren't worth even conceiving, let alone putting to paper. I knew people didn't like characters that were so liked and attractive and talented, and I was so worried about what people would think because I was going to post it online, so I attempted to cover it up best I could in my story. I was going to introduce a new character with the subconscious intent of creating a mix of who I was and who I wanted to be, but I ended up covering up the Mary Sue traits so well that the character wasn't all that Mary Sue and I realised how much better she was for it.
From then on, I focussed intently on all my characters. I now get a feel for who they are, instead of trying to make me fit into the plot.
Mine was about...4 months ago. It seems like longer really ^^ I'm still new to it, but I feel like an expert in some light. I've got a few oneshots and 3 continuous stories. I think I have improved since I started...4 months ago, lol. I never used to capitalize the I's in 'I'm' or 'I'd'. I always used to have it like ''i'm so sad.'' or something like that. I think that I could have a better grasp on romance, considering that I've got no experiance in that field. I'm still waiting for that perfect someone, and when I do, it will really help my romance writing.
My first story was Michael's Return, it was a Princess Diaries and it was shocking. Strangely, it's my second most popular story (?). My spelling was good, my grammar mostly fine...it was just the plotline that was the issue. The first chapter was 150 words, if that. You can watch the progression through the story. It's very rushed and...generally icky. I'm leaving it there as a reminder to myself of how not to write.
The first fanfic I ever wrote was quite a twisted multi-chapter yaoi involving Reno from FFVII...I have never posted it anywhere, partly because I didn't want to upset anyone and partly because it's unfinished and probably always will be. I wrote it when I was 15.
The first fanfic I ever actually posted was called 'A Strange and Furious Pair' and I only posted that a few months ago (I'm now 25). It's for Arc: Twilight of the Spirits and yes it's also yaoi. I still like it, though it's not as good as most of the others (if you decide to check it out by clicking on my name, scroll down to the bottom, the fics at the top are random humorous non-yaoi ones written on request). I was still feeling a bit nervous about sharing, so I toned it down wuite a lot o_O
i'm still on my first fanfic lmao...back when i was obsessed with twilight....ah jasper♥
First fanfic is a Pokémon one entitled 'Friendship, Love and Rivalry' but it's still in progress. It's nowhere near finished, but I like to think my writing is far more interesting and discriptive than it was when I began. Fortunately, I have the rest of the story planned out...
Umm my first fanfic was a Camp Rock one. It was a Tess/Caitlyn pairing and only about 500 hundred words. I'd watched Camp Rock finally and fell in love with the Tess/Mitchie, Tess/Caitlyn and Mitchie/Caitlyn pairings and i'd read every possible story on FanFiction.net with those pairings in and i decided it was time to write my own so i wrote 3 oneshots and started one longer story in quick succession in that day, all with one or more of the above pairings.
I'm still very much in love with those 3 pairs, and i've written more stories about them and my style has changed a heck of a lot but i still love looking back at my first 4 stories because they were pure and simple and i'm pretty damn proud of 'em XD
Aww I still remember mine! It was called 'Why Does He Have TO Be So Good At Tranfiguration?!' It was a Lily/james sweet fluffy one shot!
My first completed one was Lizzie McGuire. cries
I had one before that which was never completed, which was for LJ Smith's Daughters of Darkness.
first fanfic was a Digimon i never put it up, it was terrible. the first i actually put up was a Nightmare before christmas one on fanfiction.net i took it down after three chapters though.
Mine was a Doctor Who/Twilight crossover. Straight in at the deep end as they say.
It wasn'lt bad- until it got deleted. Now I'm going to re-edit it before I post it again- but it sholuld be essentially the same- it was good.
Lord, mine was written when I was 11 going on 12 about...oh, 3-4 years ago? I was a proper emo kid back then, though I would never have admitted it if you asked me, and, true to the stereotype, it was an OC and Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance love story. I hated it as soon as I started writing other fanfiction. I've always read, but fanfiction was new and exciting. When I came to I managed to begin character development with better plots and...better everything xD
My first fan-fic written about a fictional character or two was yaoi, like Doomflower's, but about my OTP Naruto and Sasuke from Naruto. That never got published and I'm so glad. My first published fan-fic on fictional characters was once again a Naruto fic but a humour story written for April Fools day on Kiba. That one I'm not too keen on but hey, we are our own worst critics :)
My first PUBLISHED fic was A Chance At A Cure. You can find it on my FF page (link above) as well as an updated version that I wrote half a year later implementing advice. My first fanfiction was a draft that was very badly written and is now lost irretreivebly (sp) on a hard disk in my room. That wiped itself FOR NO APPARENT REASON!!!
I think it was called Grace Of The Soaring Eagle. I might rewrite it...
God, my first fanfic was an embarrassment. It was too short, trying way to hard to be funny and so cheesy it's not true. Plus full of typos.
But, I was only 13, and I've left it up on my page so I can remind myself that I HAVE improved as a writer ;)
xxx
Lols still writting my first fanfiction from at least 6 months ago Title was "Demons Inside Me" -link above - based on Kakashi from Naruto and yeah.... its annoying how I have a break from it suddenly and I go back over my notes like 2 weeks later and cant remeber a single thing thats happened lols, each chapter kept getting longer and longer =3
LW

Mine was a Warhammer Fantasy one about a sword possessed by a young girl. My second was a Pokemon called Capture involving people being changed into pokemon-and those are two of my best to this day.
Ohno wait, my FIRST was a Redwall that i started one summer when i was seven and never got back to. XD
My first fic was a 'The Bill' one, called Lovers, Friends and Enemies. It's on my ff.net page (link above) It'll probably never be completed but I keep it there to chart my progress, and so I can see now what is wrong with it and maybe one day change it.
My first fanfic was a Twilight one called 'Meeting By Chance' and is still going on because i only started it about 4 months ago, although I think I have improved a bit since then.
I get lazy typing because I use microsoft word which has automatic spell checker for things like 'i' :P my first few chapters are terrible, but I can't think of any ways to improve them at the moment. I Don't think the story is great anyway, but I want to finish it then start one of many ideas I have floating around in my head.
Oh holy hell. My first fan-fiction was... I can't actually remember ._.
It was probably posted on my first ever Quzilla account (now deleted xD), and it was most likely based on Naruto's Sasuke, written when I was about 10.
4, nearly 5, years on and I'm proud to say my writing's improved (for starters, no more Mary-Sues XD) and I've gone off of Sasuke. ;D
My first fanfic was written on ff.net and is still up there :). I'm new to this whole thing really so think its one of the Star Ocean 4 things linked to my profile. I'm ok with all of them but they probably need proof reading.
I'm happy enough with them but my writing style's changed a lot in 6 months's I'm told
My first fanfic was well i started 2 on top of each other a power ranger fic and a startgate fic. i was uploading a chapter of each story everytine i uploaded that was 3-4 years ago and didnt complete them, but now i have revamped them and i am carrying on with them.
My first Fanfic was a terrible terrible LOTR one which I deludedly put under the humour section, the second one was the same. I'm sorry to say they are still up there on FFnet and I can't remove them because I have no idea what my old account details are, so I still have to suffer the shame of people actually seeing them, thankfully though there's only one person who can attribute them to me, and she co-wrote them so she'd never say anything. In our defence we were thirteen and bored.

I think that it is all the better for you to keep your bad fanfiction - that way, you can compare what you are doing now to what you were doing before.
Hmm well, my first fanfiction was around... 2/3 years ago, and it was based on the Night World series, starring the soulmate couple Ash&Mary-Lynnette Carter... I even went onto write a sequel!!
Anywayys. My first fanfic was the best ever, apprently, fresh and innocent, I was only around 12 years old then... many spelling and grammatarical mistakes, and too less of a plot etc, but, in the end, it is one of my bst pieces yet!!
[Which I know as the majority of my reviewers told me so xD]
My writing style has greatly improved, barely any spelling mistakes and also has become more sophistacted, more character depth and plots etc... though I am alwayys continually aiming to improve to please my readers!!
xxx
My first fanfiction was actually about Vanessa hudgens and Zac Efron! the first chapter was so short but i did progress since then and peoples reviews always help! after doing that story i got a beta reader and its the best thing i ever did-she helps me so much!!
My first Fanfiction was Called spider pig about Emmett (Twilgiht) when i read through it the other day it was rteally embarassing
The first Fan-fic I ever wrote was the kind were you write before you realise how to write. It was a hopelessly OOC Class of the Titans plot, not intrinsically bad, but has nothing to recommend it either. I still got a couple of good reviews however, and amazingly at least two alerts! I haven't re-read it for months though, I ought to really and guffaw and my childish 13-year-old idiocy, although I am only 14 now.
First fanfiction? Oh god...I shudder to think of it...It was a terrible LOTR AU oneshot - deleted now but I still have it saved to my computer so if i ever get delusions of skill i can read it and cringe at the terribleness...I sure hope I've improved! I can't stand that thing...
I write in the BtVS fandom. My first fic was Fall of the Night a post series finale fic that plot-wise I'm proud of but grammar-wise not so much! LOL
I first posted on ff.net in Aug 07 and have just seen that I have over half a million words on there now! I know prefer using livejournal and the various communties on there but will always post on ff.net as that's where it all began :D
>>54 I got a beta reader too! I do high school musical fanfics and I'm actually still in the middle of my first one. I have done one-shots and I actually want to re-write mine. My first fic is about Troy and Gabriella and Troy gets her pregnant at 14 and they both run away, I look at my latest chapter, chapter 28, and compare it to chapter 1, just looking back i sit and think wow! It took me ages to write 1,000 words and now I'm writing 3-4,000 words and still have more ideas.
I'm seriously considering re-writing mine, the first chapter is aweful!
My first fanfiction was a fluffy Spock/Kirk fanfiction. It wasn't great at all; there was very little plot at all to it.
Thankfully I think I've improved (at least a bit) and I no longer write fluff.
First (and last) fan art was for a hard copy crossover zine involving Blake's 7 and BtVS.
Many years later my first fan fic was CSI: Vegas, an angst piece with Grissom as the vic because I was fed up of it always being Sara who got hurt.
Most of my work is still hurt Grissom stuff although I occasionaly challenge myself with a humorous shorter piece.
I have always tried to balance out the angst with some kind of case file.
Thankfully more people have joined me in hurting Grissom these days. :D
I believe my first fan fiction was written when I was 13 and was most likely a Draco Malfoy one... I did the most annoying thing any Draco fanfic writer can do and turned him into this disgustingly loving adorable thing who was only an arsehole because his daddy abused him and all he wanted was to be loved... it was written in script format too from a 2nd person point of view, using text language, of course.
Now I tend to stick with the characters' assigned personalities, I write in 1st or 3rd person and in prose opposed to script. I also have become a grammar snob and write for fanfiction.net rather than quizilla XD
My early writing days do make me chuckle though, it must be said.
My first was a Veronica Mars fic...I cannot believe how crap my writing was back then. I mean I'm not saying I've suddenly become good but it's much better than what it was back then. I made it end so sickenly sweet that the thought that I actually wrote that makes me cringe, but I was obssessed with that show at the time...lol.
I was about eleven years old and I wrote a very bad Buffy/Spike fic. I think I was basically taking libes I liked from other people's (good) fanfics and changing them to suit their siuation. This isn't counting the wonderful fanfic- quizzes (HP and LOTR) I wrote on Quizilla in which the reader was the main character. I like to think that I have evolved slightly seven years on.
Ugh, my first fanfiction was a character-piece on Voldemort, written before OotP was published, and it was utterly dreadful. I didn't know the meaning of a spellchecker then, it was totally OOC, and my ideas for backstory were... well, sad.
God, my first fanfic, at least that I thought at the time was good enough to publish, was a Lord of the Rings OC. OMG, it was bad! My spelling and grammar was horrible, one of my chapters was six lines long - seriously! - and I ended up rewriting it not even a year later. The rewrite wasn't much better, lol.
Mine was incredibly short and terrible. It was a girl named after me who came across a Transformer in human form. It made no sense, and was barely four pages long.
Mine was a digimon one that's still on my profile and is totally pants in comparison to some of my other stuff XD I've considered re-writing it actually as it's never been completed, but the roleplay it was based on has been closed for years and I've lost a thread on what happened now :(
My first fanfic was actually an analysation of the Mary Shelly's Frankenstein film, it was a bit weird :)
My first fanfic (A Yassen-centric Alex Rider one) was written during my ICT lessons in year ten! it was fairly awful - i didn't know what grammar was and dialogue was just kind of accidental! i know how to do that now, though! :D
He heheheheh
Mine was a Harry potter one. I was twelven when I wrote it and it sucked! The plot was good and I'm going to go back and re-write it some day, but the gramma and words suck...I sooo much better now. It was over 15,000 words.
My first fanfic was a Doctor Who one, and written when I was about twelve or thirteen. It was about a Welsh vampire called Bronwyn who had an angsty past and was basically a huge brat. I found it a few months ago, and it mortified me so much that I deleted it clean off the website.
My first published fanfic is (I think) my best work yet, but my first ever is a Lion King scribble from when I was about four. I just re-discovered it and I'm half thinking of publishing (non-spelling and all) just because it makes me laugh.
my first fan-fiction was a Storm Hawks one, which wasn't very long ago that i started and i'm still working on it, but my best one is my Doctor who fic
Mine was called Love of a Magician Girl. A small oneshot based on the Yu-Gi-Oh series. I was much more o
Mine was a twilight, and Im still writing it. Its not so bad, but my favourite fan-fic would be the second one I wrote. My second fanfic was called: All I ever lived for.
My first Fanfiction was a Naruto one called "The Wielder and the Container", which is a small crossover with Neverwinter Nights 2. Unfortunately, it's been on a long Hiatus, nearly two years in fact, though I did enjoy writing it. However I have been getting urges to start working on it again, though I'll definately need to take the direction the Mangas gone into account.
My first fanfic? An Ace combat story that doesn't really go anywhere and still has absolutely no reviews. I leave it on the site because it's a record of my development as a writer. And it's not my worse fic, but I like to think I've improved
I was thirteen, it was beyblade, the yaoi was in full force. It was your run of the mill first person romcom and i'm acutally scarily proud of it. i cringe when looking at my grammer and the really badly formed ideas but at the same time i think that it could have gone a hell of a lot worse.
I'm still sort of new to writing Fanfics but my first one was an ICarly fic called IAmFamous.
My first story was a Naruto fanfic, a romance with Naruto and Hinata. I never finished it...
That was about...two years ago? Maybe.
I don't even like that pairing any more for a start. It had so many cliché’s, sex in, like, the third chapter. Guns...yes, guns in the Naruto world - I don't know what I was thinking. It was bad - very bad.
But I've improved.
Definitely.
Maybe.
Hopefully...?
Xx..xX
For me was Kamen Rider Divide, it was my own story based on the Kamen Rider Series in Japan, I think i did quite bad for this, but i am still trying to improve on it.
My first fanfiction was a final fantasty VII one.
Looking back on it now and noting how much my writing style has changed from then I'm almost ashamed to have written it lol
Mine was based on a space sim, X2: The Threat. I started maybe three and a half years ago, now, without the forethought of planning beyond the next chapter, and even then, only in my head. It's still going on, though it's nearing completion. One good thing about it having taken so long is that I can see how my writing style has changed even over the course of that one story. (My FF name is the same as my posting name, if you're interested. The story is called 'Siege.' A better and more-complete version can be found on another forum, which I will link you to if you PM my FF account :) )
Since then, I've written a fair few other stories, almost all of them one-shot shorts, some fanfic, some otherwise. I got the bug, you could say ;)
My first solo fic? Still writing it. In fact, it's two-thirds of the way through, and already well past the length of Ender's Game.
I mean, good grief, that was a terrifying realisation.
eek i can't remember my very first fanfic. I wrote it about 3 or 4 years ago. And ive taken many of my first ones down since then. I do know that my writing has improved since then, as my stories have improved using better grammar skills, describing things better. My best story so far is A turn of the best, a star wars fan fic that im currently working on.
Oh God, my first one was One Piece and written on a dare.
The dare? 'See how many people you can kill off' Yeah, you can imagine how that went. It was better than anything else I'd written, but I still cringe at it now
My first fanfic was.....let me think.....(searches ff.net for publishing dates).....actually it turns out it's the story I'm floundering on right now. It's called Second Time Around, and it's a Stargate Atlantis time-travel fic I've had to put on hiatus since I've kinda lost the plot (so to speak), even though it's the longest story I've published so far.
My first fanfic? Erm, still doing that one (writers block).
I have written other stories involving characters from Digimon but had nothing to do with the series at all (I just used the names).
Comparing my first story which was done when I was 13 to my latest story (I'm 21 now) there is a huge difference between my styles.
The fan-fic I am doing now is on Code:Lyoko (don't worry if you haven't heard of it, I'm used to it by now) and I'm still working on chapter 20 (been on hiatus for nearly 5 months now) . I have had other ideas for fanfics, I just don't have the time to write anything at the moment.
My first fanfic was a Love Hina fanfic, Love Hina One More Time, and I used OCCs which I think is harder to do really.
It definately wasn't my best fanfic because it was really short and kind of straggly (you know, rough, unexplained...) So I really think I might take it down (if I haven't already.)
Oh God, I think my first fanfic was a Chandler/Rachel fic for Friends. I wrote that a few years ago and got up to chapter 5 then stopped. I had quite a few reviews saying it was good but when I looked back on it, my writing was crap!
I've improved so much now and that was just by reading other (amazing) fanfics, picking up tips and just learning new things. I deleted my Friends story but I might do a one shot on one one day. Who knows xP
Well, my first real fanfic is Pokemon: Rise of the Pokemorph. Of course, I've done a lot of writing before I wrote that one, but that is most definately my first fanfic.
Aaaaaaaaaaah! I remember my first fic! It was a Renji/OC for Bleach and when I look back on it, I wanna scream lol. I haven't deleted it...though I want to :\ but I just can't be asked with my account anymore, cuz all my stories on there are. Just. So. Bad. screams
Haha, but it's a good way to look back and see how far you've come, right? ;)
oh my first fanfic, well I starting writing it when I was around 11/12 and it orginally was for my english homework at school. It was at first a character I had just created then I lost it [I was soo gutted and even got into trouble at school -sad face- ] about two years maybe three years ago i found it again, but i was totally stuck for ideas where to go with it but I really wanted to finish it. So now 19yrs old I'm still trying to finish my first ever fanfiction and I have others along side it. Cracked perfections it's called and I orginally posted it on a site called fanlib but that shut down [I almost cried lol]it's not on ff.net. it's got the Inuyasha characters in as it's my all time favourite anime and I still don't where exactly I'm going with it, I just have so many ideas, I hope my writings inproved. But some of my very early comments was I didn't use enough dialogue, since I don't recieve those comments any more I hope it means I've fixed that lol.
my first published fanfic was "The Choice", its a HaruxMori for Ouran High School Host Club
I've got an unpublished one that i wrote when i was younger that i'm still trying to work on!!
My first published fic went badly. I wanted to post regularly, but I hadn't properly planned out the storyline before I started writing and a number of subplotlines that were meant to be important dwindled into nothing, and by the end of it I just hated the whole thing and ended it rather abruptly. Still, the positive response that I did get for it was so encouraging that I kept writing, and my current fics are far, far better.
Oh boy...I remember it well.....
I was about 11 or 12 and happened to be obessed with Pokemon and Digimon at the time.
So when my English teacher asked us to write a story about "Lost and Found", I had to go and write one about rip off characters that somehow managed to get sucked into a conveniant wormhole and magically land in the Digi-world. Making friends with a digimon AKA "The result of when a Guinea Pig and a Giant Bat breed", they manage to safely return home on it's back.
When I handed it in to the teacher, her eye twitched and tried hide a grin or a scowl. I don't think I got a good mark for it as when I read it again a week later, I was horrified and rammed it at the back of my locker. (I imagine I was making a mental note to rip it up as soon as I could get away with it.)
It had unlovable Mary Sue characters, spelling mistakes galore and the bad puncuation was dancing hand in hand with no plot what so ever!
Thankfully, that devil's spawn never made it to the internet.
Lotus Lily, Emerald Orbs.
Than I realised the OC was heading down Mary Sue road, if it didn't already.
Still left it on as, afterall, it was my first fic.
My first was a Halo fan fiction, in fact I am still doing it, I dont know if it will ever actually end ^^
My first was a South Park one-shot about Stan and Kyle being able to talk to each other without having sex (90% of South Park fics are just that) It wasn't very good but it wasn't intended to be good, just to make a point
my first fanfiction was for bratz(never posted it never finished)until i went of it. I count my first as Their new adventure, a ASOUE fic :)
my first one was a Doctor Who one. When I look back at the quality of it all, it wasn't great, however I have improved, and I'm still happy with my attempt. =)
My first was a Harry Potter one. It's gone now because I gave away my PC and deleted all the files. It was a very weird one about Harry and Severus... It turned into a slash somehow... I hate slash so that's just weird. :S
my first fanfic was a sonic one, but it ended up kinda like a script type of story since i didnt know how to do it right. i was like 11/12 i think...=///='
My first fan fiction I will NEVER show the world it's that bad, lol! even with the grammar and spelling all corrected it was still bad! My second fanfic I put up on Fanfiction and I'm currently rewriting the whole thing which goes to show what I feel of my first fanfics, lol!
Kiki
Mine was an OHSHC one-shot, which is still posted on ff.net. And it just so happens to be yaoi - slash for those who didn't know. I noticed some people are against that, but whatever you can't suit everyone's needs.
My first fanfic was "Hidden Abilities". The main character is Tails from Sonic the Hedgehog and the plotline was quite twisting (perhaps too twisting because some hidden messages were TOO hidden ^_^'). But it did get a good reception and, although I didn't do too well on an emotion-filled chapter, I did pretty well for a first attempt.
I've improved quite considerably since it was made, I'm much better at battle and emotional scenes than I was and, even though I've only written two other stories (and I'm on two more at the moment), my storylines themselves have imrpoved too.
Good times, good times...
My first fanfic? Lol, it was one called "Castle Wars" from when I was still a RuneScape geek :D I'm actually quite proud of it lol, but it's crammed full of text talk, which I now won't touch with a ten foot barge pole (except for in normal internet talk - definitely not in stories).
I've definitely become better at writing battle scenes and making them believable, as well as more in depth plot than "killed some people, won a game" :P But I still like the story for my first one ever :)
My first was a Sly Cooper fanfiction, and looking back on it, I cringe every time I read it. No planning, no researching, NOTHING but any idea I thought of at the time.
I WAS like, tweleve at the time, so I didn't know what I was doing lol.
Now, my writing has improved SO much. Not even funny here, you guys!
my first one is still being posted. i started a year ago and i just recently went back to read through and i can't believe what i wrote. i get better as i get to the newer chapters and i feel that i have gotten better but yeah..... lol
i have two other stories but i only have the one started on fanfiction.net. i think i have gotten a LOT better but well see what everyone says.
i have other stories i have written from when i was like ten and i'm afraid to go look at them! lol!
My first is my only one so far. I had all my writing confidence knocked out of me at school and just thought I was an awful. All these years later and I'm attemting a part 2 of a twilight story.
My first fanfic was "The Lovett of Her Life" a sweeney todd fanfic. It was really short so yeah I sort of have changed length wise. But in terms of my actual style, I haven't really changed much...
My first fanfic was a Blake's 7 60,000 word novel I wrote as a bet for my best friends wedding over 15 years ago. I got it bound and gave it to her a wedding pressie. She liked it (which was fortunate). I'm just rejigging it to bring it up to spec before I post it on fanfiction.net. It's taken me until this year to write a second one, but I have the bug now....
My first fanfic, or at least the first that I was willing to let anyone see, was 'When The Fire Dies', a short 3-chapter FFXII Vossler/Ashe thing where the two of them both looked back over their time together. It's not terrible - the small number of people who reviewed seemed to like it, despite the slightly odd pairing - but it's not like I'd be showing it off to anyone anytime soon.
I'm still relatively new to the world of fan fiction, but I still think I've improved a fair bit since then. Or maybe not.
It's not a proper fanfic, but my first fan-fiction work was a set of drabbles about Lexaeus/Zexion (from "Kingdom Hearts") called "What Happens in the Basement".
My first one-shot was "Pillow Talk", also a LexZex piece, which was also my first fan-fic hinting to sexual activity. My first real fan-fic is "Just One More Chance", again LexZex, with 25/44 of its chapters done. (Yes, I do write other pairings/characters. LexZex is just my OTP ^_^)
Mine was a wolverine captain america pairing called lowtown lovin . I wrote it about four or five months ago, im a bit of a noob at the moment.
A horrendous cross between Furuba, FF7 and my highschool. It still makes me laugh for all the wrong reasons.
My first fic was a very average and mediocre Doctor Who story, with no description and quite bad grammar. Since then, my writing has (I hope - remember this is in my opinion) improved greatly, I've gained more sophistication in my language while I'm writing prose, I now describe certain things in more detail than I used to and my grammar has improved my a long way.
My first fanfiction was an incredibly short Sephiroth POV thing that was mostly based on my own headcanon for him anyway. >.> There were other things that came later, involving massive amounts of OCs that I guess were probably Mary-Sues but I never did write enough of the fanfics for it to become obvious. Those are gone now, taken down because I didn't think I'd ever bother with them again but the very first story is still up, mostly as a reminder for how far I've come since I began writing fanfiction.
my first fanfiction was has been repetedly taken down and back up because of different flamers,
My first was a humourous romance one shot for Babylon 5- one of the canon characters gets caught in bed with an OC. I actually started a fanfic novel series out of it!
My first was a 50 word drabble for National Treasure which was pretty angsty.
Ninja turtles short but multichaptered, with an OC female and an amnesic Raphael :P, the girl amazingly wasn't that much of a Sue for my first try- I openly had her call herself a reckless idiot (which she was)...
But I kept changing tenses and... man it was a BAD fic. I mean... amnesia?! Plus her male best friend was far too much of an anti-sue- too much of a bumbling self-centered idiot.
I still have the fic on my account, and I think I've (hopefully!) improved since then- still room for more though! A lot more!
My first was called 'Mirror Image', a crossover with 'Ouran high school host club' and 'Beauty Pop' and I started writing it in August...It got pretty good feedback so i haven't changed my style mcuh :S I'm writing a sequal though, and hopefully my writing's a bit clearer and easier to understand...yeah. I'm a total newbie :D
I can't remember really. I think I started writing a fic over on AFF years ago about ff7 but deleted it because i realised it was extremely bad.
My first real fic was Girls and Guardians a W.I.T.C.H fic on FF.net, it was about the copies of the main charater, who in the original our said to be given new life but where or how was never explained.
My first fanfic is called 'Truly Friends' for Transformers. It's still not completed :( Bad me. After practising my story writing in the months between chapters I see how bad my writing was before compared to now.
My very first fanfic was a 200 word Bleach drabble, but I feel it hardly counts.
So, I'd say my first fanfic was a cracky Renji/Ichigo (Bleach) one-shot that turned into a 10 chapter story, and I sort of cringe and smile when I read it now because I can really see how my writing evolved from chapter to chapter. I've no idea of why it turned out so long and after finished it I swore I'd only write one-shots from there on. :D
My first fanfic was horrific. It was about the anime Inuyasha, six chapters long and had a stupid plot, unsatisfying ending and as is said it was ONLY six chapters long meaning about eigh scenes happened per chapter.
I have a new account now which i created after several moths hiatus as a new start. I once glanced at old account and grimace whenever i re read them.
Surprisingly i never got a flame. It seems even they didn't wanna waste their time reviewing my story lol.
Already wrote this in the wrong thread, but;
My first fic, Control, is still ongoing. It's Teen Titans fic with BBRae pairing. It's written in 3rd person but from BB's oint of view, never referring to any of BB's names in the narrative, but instead using 'he' all the time. It's rather OOC for BB, namely being rather emo, but I didn't get any complaints on that. I personally think it's gotten weaker as it's gone on since my style has shifted away from lots n' lots of detail on feelings and thoughts, but that style suited the fic. Obviously, when I decided to continue it the problem of including any other male character made itself blatant. However, it was (not sure if it is anymore) popular and I've got a fic, Concern, further behind in the story written in the same manner from Raven's POV.
My first fan fic was for FF7 all the way back in 1998. I still have it too (offline thankfully!) - in all its badly written glory.
My first Fic wasn't that long ago but it was for twilight and now I hate just the thought of it being in my name. I don't nessecarily think its that bad my new stuff is one hell of a lot better tho. I've read worse thats all I'll say.
i finished my first fic a few weeks ago. it was about bioshock, focused on the character tenenbaum and its about 10 chapters long. i had planned to do a sequel for it but exams got in the way :(
Pokemon: the shadow virus/prophecy
It started as shadow prophecy two years ago and the current version is pokemon the shadow virus, the first version was terrible but i've improved loads and discovered that based on the current size, it will be over 150,000 words when i've finished the next part in the saga Shadow virus: gathering of the gifted, and the final part of the trilogy "Unamed"
Its got killer pokemon and later on pokemorphs (some already some still to come) but i've been struggling recently because i've only got eighteen reviews for ten chapters and its a year old, i realy wish i could get some more reviews but i'll survive and reading the old version brings back soem good memories.

My first proper fic since my PC died (My old ones have since disappeared) was called Mentally Unstable.
Was based around Street Fighter character Vega's background of him snapping due to witnessing his mothers murder at the hands of his father. His father's personality slowly starts taking control and Bison tries to help, though doesn't quite realise why until he starts feeling for him.
I'm still writting. I havn't done many, but my first was a death note fanfic. Its still too early to say if its much good, but there is a marked difference in the first few chapters, and my most recent ones.
My language has become more complicated, I'm better at proof reading and they are much longer and more intricate.
I would not say it was particularly good, but its definitly improving.

I started my first fanfic in June last year, I think. Anyways, I took a break from it for a while, which turned into a few months...but this week I decided to start it up again. I re-read it, and was horrified about the Mary-Sue-ness of my OC, so I took it down and am currently re-writing it. My first full, decent fic is an X-men: Evolution one, but that one was Twilight.
My first one must have been when I was 15, so just over 2 years ago. It was an awful kingdom hearts one, the grammar and style are so different now. I think I've grown alot since then
my first fanfiction was a a Tokyo Mew Mew one which is slightly embarassing to think about it now. My friend was obsessed with it so I was looking up things to do with it for her, found a fanfiction site and I wrote my first story on it, a copy of something I started to write for the same friend. I definately wriet differently now though
My first fanfic was a rather long fic on the Golden Sun 'verse that was abrubt, poor characterization and the Plot needed some good filling out. I think I've aproved alot though
My first fanfic was so long... I never tried to count the pages though. It's been on hiatus for 2-3 years now because I just couldn't go on. I was rambling about HP with a friend and I totally cracked, saying that I would throw a demon in the mix, just to make them all go crazy. And I did - actually came up with my crackiest lines. It's still on FFN - and actually, people read that. But my chara was Mary-Sueish (well, she wasn't the kind who would mess with the actual story line... I just wanted her to find a way to save Dumby at some point and it involved a trampoline... I'm random). Afterward, I took on writing shorter, angstier pieces and I never touched the story again.
It was more like a crackfic, written for my friends. And even if I'm not happy with it as an author, I had fun writing it so... Guess it's okay.
My first fic was, Sugar and Spice and All Things Nice. It was a Robin Hood fic and actually I think it was alright, this is a big thing cos I HATE some of my fics. I havn't gone back to look at it in a while so I may remember it being ok but it could be god-aweful now.
my first two fanfics were
Simpsouthturama guy: Yellow Submarine
same plot as yellow submarine with some added bits and bobs
and South park 30 years: episode 1, until i changed it into South park 30 years: Series 1:
doesw what the title says
P.S i deleted the first one because i red through it and though of it a plain, bona fied crap
A Ron/Hermione songfic to Leona Lewis'/Kelly Clarksons' "A Moment Like This". I wrote it when I was 8, before Deathly Hallows came out, and its about their first kiss. it makes me cringe when I reread it, but i refuse to edit it, so it is saved in my documents as some kind of momentum :P.
how has my writing changed? I can write half-decent stories now :P
This is my first fanfic if anyone would like to read I think it's up there with my immortal lol
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5364892/1/I_know_what_you_are
@149,
If you are unable to handle constructive crit, don't read.
1) You need to work on sentence structure.
For example the first two sentences:
"Jumped out of the car and looked at the house."
Do you mean 'I jumped..." just putting jumped makes little sense. The readers are asking themselves 'what? who or what jumped??'
"It was just like the ones you saw in the movies with the white picket fence and everything the American dream." I think maybe a semi-colon is needed after 'everything.' Otherwise 'everything the American dream' runs is one breath and makes no sense.
2) Character description.
I've said this to someone else who posted their story. Why so much description onher looks? Is it important to the story? If not, then is there any need for the emphasis? Most novels go in to a lot of detail over the protagonists personality. Looks are important but tend to be secondary.
Also, this description makes no sense. Is she actually as pretty as you describe? You contradict yourself too much. If she is below average then why does she describe only what she imagines herself to look like on a 'good day?' Surely that is meaningless? Also if she is below average then she is basically lying over her good looks, because she is describing a wish. This makes her an unreliable narrator, which puts the whole narrative in an ambiguous light.
3) Double check your grammar.
'I forced a small smile Yes I answered.'
You miss out things such as speech marks and full stops, which makes it difficult for the reader to understand when someone is speaking, and when the protagonist is narrating.
Remember, everyone makes mistakes (I make plenty of spelling errors when I write.) But going over them and fixing them is a sign of respect for your reader. It shows that you care and you want them to read your story as easily as possible. Also, if people are too busy trying to work out what a sentence means, they'll either get frustated and give up (losing you readers and reviews) or they won't focus on the story as much as you would like them to.
For example, this sentence means nothing because its too garbled:
'Thanks to her I was an unwillingly a constant pain to my mum due to my pale skin apparently Bella had it as well. '
Thanks to who, and why would having pale skin be a source of such irritation? And why mention that Bella has it too within the same context?
@Moonphase- I'm willing to bet that 149 is aware of plenty of this. They did say that the fic was 'up there with "My Immortal"'...
Hmmm, yeah, probably, considering the thread title...
Mine was so bad... It was a Twilight one that was completely unrealistic. It involved Bella going to join an evil group of vampires. It's so embarrassing to admit I wrote Twilight fan fiction as I am now a HUGE hater... -_0 Runs off blushing
My first fanfic was 'Shadow vs Shadow', a Sonic the Hedgehog story that took up several hours and over 11000 words in 10 chapters. I was really impressed with it to be honest. So much so that I'm currently working on the sequel!!
I'd like to think my writing has improved, but to be honest I've been so busy recently that I haven't posted anything for ages!! :-(
My first fic was a Twilight continuation. I have no writing experience at all but i really enjoyed writing it and recieved some great reviews so i am now currently writing a sequel.
I have kept my writing style the same but i believe my writing progressed throughout the story. What do you think?
http://fanfiction.net/s/5470129/1/
mine was a harry potter 210 page novel! :P no, i'm serious.
haha. looking back, the first chapters are awful!!! they're about this random's girl love for neville (i love neville.) and the writing was awful... almost every sentence started with i...
well, at least it got a little better towards the end. it did take two years...
My first one was about Super Smash bros, it was alright but the Link/Samus pairing wasn't all that popular.
My first was a Halo one, it wasn't very good, but I wrote it all rather quickly whilst ill. Ah, those were the days. Now, I tend to plan more when writing something.
First one was a Dramione fanfic (yep, Harry Potter) and it the first chapters of it were terrible, which I realised, and later edited. I think I've written much better in the later chapters and the sequel to it... =D
My first fanfiction was a Dragonball Z story, complete with a Mary Sue and many plot holes. I wrote it when I was 14, and there are many inconsistencies to it. Strangely, it is my second most popular story.
My first fanfic was a horribly mushy Fairly Odd Parents songfic. Seriously, it gives me diabetes just looking at it again. Simple solution, I don't look at it anymore. XD
There was a song in every chapter and, at times, I'm sure there was more song than fic. x_x Hate it, hate it, hate it, but it was my first milestone.
My writing has improved immensely since then. I learned a little thing called character depth XD as well as detailed explanations of things. Plus, I grew to hate mush. It makes me ill now.
I'm still working on my first fanfic, plus two more fics, planning a fourth and experimenting with my own original idea.
My first though, was kind of like lots out there, and it was an OC story. Possibly a Mary-Sue, except I didn't want everyone to love her; they react negatively to her abusive moments, and she doesn't whoop any Canon's ass, but gets her own whooped. I didn't think it was that bad, but I'm going through the first few chapters to correct it anyway.
Mine- that I first started writing- was inspired by this Potterpuffs icon that had Harry surrounded by the ghost!parents and ghost!Remus and ghost!Sirius, and it says something along the lines of "I would have used this moment to grab Snape and say thanks". So I jotted down a load of ideas and started typing...I still haven't finished it loolz...
The first one I PUBLISHED onto ff.net is called Fear. It's kind of graphic..ally depressing. Sort of Drarry, but not really intended to be. Draco dies. Woop de doo...=[
My first fanfic? I guess it's Night Horse. A Bleach fanfic. It's got about 20-or so chapters and I'm still not finished it. I've finished a short 10 chapter story called Without you and I'm currently doing Dream, but it's kinda going downhill...
I blame WRITER'S BLOCK. (Curse that damn thing...)
Well my first fanfic was about twilight. im absolutly obsessed with that. I havn't written any other stories. But i am very proud of my first Fanfic. xxx
My first fan ficiton was a add on to the strawberry panic anime. The whole 'if Nagisa hadnt run off with Shizuma' thing. was terrible, but hey ;)

Mine was inspired by a Kink Meme. Actually, so far all of mine are inspired by Memes or songs. I don't have any original ideas of my own, I just take others' and expand them. It seems to work pretty well, ratings-wise.
My first fic was a Harry Potter styled sonfic of my heart will go on, entitled 'my Hate will go on', with altered lyrics sung by Snape expressing his sorrow that he'd never get the chance to torment Harry after half blood prince. It was the most successful of my early fics, with over 200 hits (it's increased since then), and largely positive reviews, although a major complaint was from those who felt Snape didn't hate Harry.
I've largely moved on from songfics since then, although I have others called 'I will survive' (Again sung by Snape) and 'filler', a take on 'thriller' describing the 'horrors' of filler.
My first fic was/is a Star Wars:The Clone Wars fic that is currently 27,968 words and counting :D on FanFiction.net
My first was a Final Fantasy VII romance fic about Vincent and Yuffie, and it positively sucked compared to the Yu-Gi-Oh, SoulCalibur and Death Note I've done now. Click my name to go to my ff.net profile and read if you want
i wish i still had mine, but i was about 12 years ago. it was a pokemon one-shot that only got posted at a fansite. not like pokemon's hard to write, but i've gotten better at getting the emotions across without stating them.
My first fic was a Doctor Who story with an OC. I didn't even know the meaning of Mary-Sue, but unfortunately, that was exactly what "Anya" was.
I posted it on fanfiction.net and got flamed badly and added to a category of doomed fics. It severely hurt my confidence so I didn't post for another few months.
I'm re-doing it now, with less mary-sue-ness and better writing techniques (hopefully xD)
My first fanfic was a 20 chapter long Merlin fic. I don't think it was too bad, considering it was my first... although I've written a lot better since. It was my first and last chaptered fic, though. I simply don't have the patience to write anything with more than two or three parts to it anymore. XD
My first fanfic was a Twilight one (what can I say, I'm an obsessed fan).
It's not very well written and they're things missing in the plot but I got good feedback nevertheless! Which made me extremely happy!
My first fanfiction was originally a one-shot songfic, but I extended it. Then put it on Haitus, still havnt updated past 2 chapters...
@Twilight-obsessed-Betty
Hey, yeah I know what you mean, I have only written one non-Twilight fanfiction, which happened to be my first, seen as I went through an Anti-Twilight phase, I hated that phase :L
My first fanfiction was on Kingdom Hearts. Before Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts II were announced, I wrote my story 2 years after the first game, presenting my vision of a possible secret. It took me two months to write and lasted 19 chapters.
the feedback on it was positive and I was so proud of it that I decided to take the original characters I'd created and put them in my own novel. Looking back at it now, I did stuff wrong and I was very much trying to find my footing, but I am still proud of it. I'm currently trying to wrap up my story of the Kingdom Hearts trilogy online with my Kingdom Hearts II story.
My first fan made story was a screen-play type thing. All dialog with a bit of description, called Fall of the Flagship.
The first actual Fanfiction I wrote was for star trek, called Starship Devonport. It's going well I think, still ongoing.
My first proper fan fiction was a FFVII Crisis Core fic based around Genesis' reasons for what he does. I still like writing those sorts of things, and should really upload some to FF.net some time.

all I remember about my first fic is it was short, rubbish, angsty and the main character died in around 800 words. Awful but funny when I look at it... a whole year ago cough it was Ouran and all I've written now is Ouran, I think I need to branch out more
God, I'm farily certain that my first Fanfic was one for Dragonball Z, back when I was all of 13. It wasn't the greatest thing I've ever written, and ended up being re-written, but it's not the worst thing I've ever written ever. I still liked the plot, but the writing itself could use some improvment.
The first I wrote was an Inuyasha piece. I've looked over it on ff.net and think omg what the heck was i thinking? there's an awful plot, not enough structure and the base line sucks!
I think things have definately changed and im hoping for the better
My first fanfic was for High School Musical, entitled Chancing Chanson, which is currently on hiatus. When I first started it, I hadn't actually even seen the film! :-P
Xx.
My first and last fanfic - HSM XD i was in love with it at the time, still find it cool, but not in the neeky way ;)
it's called the perfect love story, it's been on hiatus for hte last 2 years, I'm plaaaaanning on starting it up again =D so for the small number of tpls fans out there, you're in luck, you can read it heeeere - http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3956897/1/The_bPerfect_b_bLove_b_bStory_b
its actually funny =) btw, on fanfic I'm BellaEdwardZanessa.x it was Mrs Henna Edward Cullen, ages ago, but I recently changed it XD
ummm, i personallly think it's hilarious to see your own writing from years ago - cause it usually sucks =D
I can actually say that three years ago, I sucked haha
xx
My first Fanfic was .. I think
I wrote two atthe same time the first one I started was a One Tree Hill FF that rewrote season 6 and the first one I finished was a completely diffent setting that he series (diffenent family members and stuff) gang moved to San fransisco I think both werent too good
Haha my first fanfic was a HP/DM one... The first chapter was five sentences long and incredibly angsty... Luckily I've improved somewhat already, but sometimes I still love to write crack and let my characters talk smack haha :D
I wrote my first fic when I was eight or so, before I even knew of the term fanfic. It was a Scooby-Doo fic. It was three pages long and the conclusion made zero sense, because I had them mention something that never even happened in the story. Since then my most notable difference would be switching to English, but I did improve a lot, and even from four years ago to now things have changed a lot.
I'm currently in the process of retrieving my writings from when I was a little kid, and I'll upload them on FF and FP in both English and the original Dutch, just for the hell of it.
My first fanfic was written during class at the age of twelve. I was already writing a lot but never in English before. Since then, English is the language I use most. And I write less poems now (only on fictionpress still).
For my writing style, grammar and spelling has improved (and is still improving). And I'm more in tune with the chrachters sine I know them longer now.
First fic was a Naruto one, paired Naruto/Hinata. I''m not sure what it was about any more, just that it was sappy and REALLY badly written. I guess that was about 3 years ago... Since then I've moved on to slash, and never looked back. XD
Although, I was watching naruto Shippuuden today, and there was this adorable NaruHina moment, and I was all like ''I can't believe I used to ship this... Where are the Sasuke/Naruto moments!'' :3 If only i could go back to the times when I wasn't an insane yaoi fangirl... (some off) my friends would be off so much better... XD
Ouch. Haha my first fanfic was HORRIBLE!! I cannot believe I wrote like that back then XD
My first fanfic was a success! At least I thought that ha-ha XD
For my first fanfic I wanted to make like a mix of action/adventure with romance in it. So I decided to mix up my favorite two characters from Bleach and Inuyasha and make them pair up.
ICHIGO AND KAGOME! Ha-ha! When I first wrote this, I was actually afraid of writing the action scenes. I thought they were horrible but I had tried my best. Though it was my first fanfic, it was a total of 22 chapters and a sequel to it because it was a hit in the BleachxInuyasha Crossover section.
When I first wrote it, these two people weren't such a big thing, but I was like I'll make one! Now I see many people making their own with this pairing and pairing Kagome with others in Bleach.
I still keep writing BleachxInuyasha crossovers since I am best at it!
Oh God.
My first story (that I can recall) was a Halo fanfiction. It was based around OC's, a female sangheilian and two marines. Isunusi, Kenny Jason, and Gwen Hiroson.
I've actually decided to rewrite it completely. Yay!

My first story was a Sasunaru story. Bad grammar and structure '^-^. I wrote it on notecards.(I don't know why)
I really want some opinions.

My writing has changed in my other stories and latest chapters of my first story.
My first FanFic was a D.Gray-man one-shot based on my favorite pairing. I guess it went over well... No flamers and some reviews so I'm a happy little FF-writer. Then again, I'm new to this, so I'll probably look back in a few months and think "What is this crap?" ^^
My first was actually a Twilight poem I wrote for school, then came the songfics. God, they were so awful, I just had to delete them.
My first two chapter stories (I'm rewriting one and deleted the other) were the worse than the songfics. They had OCs and Mary Sues. I'm just glad that my writing has improved ten-fold even if the embassasment is still there.
Short little Drabble about Cas and Gabriel having a talk after Dean and Sam leave at the end of Changing Channels. i deleted it a few months later after re-reading it and realizing how stupid it was
My first fanfiction was Supernatural fic by the name of "A Struggle For Affection". Eighteen chapters and nearly 76,500 words later, I don't think it was too shabby.
Although, despite everyone's general liking to it, I will admit that I do believe there were some flaws to it. For example, I think I strayed from my main plot a little too much. But overall, I would say it was a bad fiction, by no means.
Since then, I think I've improved with overall style as well as keeping my stories basic. Also, I try not to include the names of minor extras that are included. I find that it makes them look like they have a bigger part to play than they really do.
My first fanfic was a One Piece smut fic with Luffy and Nami. Not sure how my writing has changed since then, but I have put more of an emphasis on changing up adjectives and keeping blocks of text smaller.
Mine was a crossover fic with Will and Grace and Law and Order SVU, and it had about every bad fanfic mistake known to man in all it's 43 chapter glory.
Are we talking grammar wise cause if we are then my worst fanfic was my first one, called Love Lockdown. It's a Twilight ff of Embry and who he imprints on. Holy Moly it was horrible. Also some parts didn't make sense at all but the reviews it got were like WOAH I should not have gotten any reviews for this at all.
My first story was a Mummy story and it was horrible!!! I wrote in 1st person (something I haven't done since), I screwed with the wardrobe of the time so my girl was hella slutty, my character was the biggest Mary Sue, and the story made no sense.
That one isn't even saved on my hard drive. I should've printed it and then burned it.
My first written fic was a crackish Harry Potter fic that I thought was hilarious... The spelling was terrible, the plot didn't exist, and for some reason Voldemort and Hermione ended up married... :T Well, I was in second grade, so that's to be expected!
My first non-Mary Sue fic would be the Hetalia fic Two Years to Remember: The IYSA. I think that Hetalia has really improved my writing...
mine was a SasuNaru fic, which i still havent gotten around to finishing yet... ehehe ^.^' i reread all the stories that i had so far and i was like, "wtf was i on?" it was slightly confusing me and i understood why some of the reviewers were asking questions. i try to make fics good and when i update them, they seem acceptable, but after i reread them, i am completely unsatisfied.

lol Hermione and Woldemort? Wow that must be a crack pairing XD i respect u dude
wait, the first fanfic i READ or written?
if it was one that i read, it would be this Daa! Daa! Daa! fic i randomly found on google. it was on an unfamiliar site and i didnt know what fanfiction was back then. I do recall the author adding this OC to be paired with Ryuu, which now sends unwanted shivers down my spine.
My first story was a one-shot. It was really bad so I deleted it, edited it and re-posted it a few months later.
>>211
was it under the consent of the original author? did you put in a disclaimer or something?
my first story on ff was a CodyxBeth oneshot(TDI). at the time i thought it was good, but looking back on it... lets just say, my writing has improved a LOT.
but it's still a cute story. :)
okay, technically my first story EVER was a GwenxTrent one(also TDI), but i screwed it up so bad that i didn't even put it on the website. i sometimes consider editing it and making it better, but it's really long and i don't have the time or the attention span.
Well, I technically have two first fanfics: the first one I ever tried to write, and the first one I ever actually wrote.
The first one I ever tried to write was -- I think -- a crossover between Metroid and Teen Titans, but that was years ago, and I never even got past the first few lines, so I usually don't count that one. This was anywhere from one to two years before I joined ff dot net. So, yeah...
My first written and posted fanfic can be read right here: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3008512/1/Parrotboy_the_tale_of_How_Sasuke_got_his_Hairstyl It's over four years old and less than three hundred words long. While the execution, compared to my more recent fics, is frankly abysmal and childish. The punctuation is not as good as I would like, it includes some of the gratuitous (and very poor Japanese that I would later work to largely phase out of my anime/manga fandom fics -- this, combined with a period of partial-script format that, in at least one fic, continued untl fairly recently in my fanfiction career, makes some of my older works rather difficult for to read without cringing in embarrassment.
The fic, 'Parrotboy (the tale of How Sasuke got his Hairstyle)' was about... well... how Sasuke got his hairstyle. The basic gist of the plot is that little Sasuke, tired of being ignored by his older brother, tried to think of a way to make Itachi pay attention to him. He notices a nature program on the television, and he hears the host talking about how male cockatiels[sic, because that effing word is too effing impossible to effing spell] use their distinctive crests to catch the attention of potential mates (and of course, li'l Sasuke doesn't know what 'potential mates' means). Hearing this, he decides to model his hair after the cockatiel[man I hate that animal, if only because I have no idea how to spell that word). Sasuke then redoubles his efforts to get Itachi's attention, which annoys Itachi to the point of killing their whole clan. Also, Sasuke's hairstyle does its natural purpose of attracting mates, resulting in his rabid horde of fan-girls.
Heh, upon writing this post, I just realized that it has been a while since I last wrote a simple humorous oneshot... I think, perhaps, I should remedy this.
Well my first was a Bleach fanfic called Paradox. Byakuya/Rukia pairing. A time travel fic and on the logner side. I seemed posessed while writing and couldent stop for days. I had a bunch of errors and I should have used shorter paragraphs to make reading easier. With every story after I saw an improvement and I slowed down to review it better.
Oh boy...my first fan fiction was a Harry Potter, monstrous, Mary-Sue-centered NIGHTMARE. Ugh. I dare not say more. I believe I wrote it in sixth grade, perhaps, so it was about eight years ago. Thank goodness I've grown considerably since that horrible attempt. Every writing skill I have has gotten better since then actually (at least, to me they have). I suppose I had to learn to fall down and slam my face into the pavement first before I could walk haha.
My first fanfic was a Harry Potter fic I started in the sixth grade. Its not too horrible, but I havent finished it yet or gotten far enough into it for it to be horrible. My writing style has changed so much that the original plot I planned for it has changed. My first (and only) completed fic was a comedic (and slightly crack-ish) Harry Potter fic, where Harry, Draco, Pansy, Hermione, Ron, and Blaise plan a Halloween party. Draco was OoC at a lot of times, but I actually had reasons why...plus it was sort of meant to be kind of a parody but still kind of serious. I'm planning the sequel now.
The first fanfic I ever wrote was a horribly written; I am not proud of it at all. I am too sentimental to delete it however, maybe i'll just try to edit it.
my first ever fan fic was a purejoy (CSI- Catherine and Grissom). It went to 29 chapters or something like that and it took me three years to finish. The funny thing about it is its the only none Femslash piece I wrote.
