Theres a thread for Leeds already, but I wanted to start one for Wakefield.

Anybody else from Wakefield? I'd love to talk to you :]

239 Name: Robyn : 2010-03-07 13:39 ID:LqnTyk83

Oh dear lol, I feel sorry for your cousin as well now

240 Name: Amy : 2010-03-07 14:45 ID:XTWBdyKJ

Hahaha!! I wouldn't. Me, my brother and my cousin have single-handedly forced a teacher each to leave the school. We deserve medals. Haha.

241 Name: Robyn : 2010-03-08 08:20 ID:6UaoM1wW

haha XD your family wins at life

242 Name: Amy : 2010-03-08 11:29 ID:XTWBdyKJ

Lmao. They also win the award for the most amount of people in one family who belong in an institute. Haha. :)

When are we actually supposed to be meeting up?
Cos plenty of people said they wanted to. But no one seems to want to anymore. :\

243 Name: Robyn : 2010-03-08 11:34 ID:6UaoM1wW

Haha :)

Not sure, everyone else vanished :|

244 Name: Amy : 2010-03-08 13:14 ID:XTWBdyKJ

I know. It's wierd. You'd have thought that they'd at least nip in to check every so often.

Although, it is quite an achievement that we're nearly up to 250 posts from mainly us. There's only 3 boards with more posts. And they're all London and such. Lmao.

245 Name: Robyn : 2010-03-08 13:40 ID:1eO0DLzF

Mm you'd think

Haha, we talk too much methinks. Its amazing what two people can achieve lol

246 Name: Amy : 2010-03-09 13:20 ID:XTWBdyKJ

Lmao. Probably. But oh well. :D

And amazing doesn't cut it. Maybe spectacular is more the word. :\ Haha! :)

Haha, whatever works :)

ermm...

248 Name: Amy : 2010-03-09 14:38 ID:XTWBdyKJ

Anyone in Wiltshire? (38)

1 Name: Kimly : 2009-10-23 08:19 ID:VN7eHg2N

Okay, so we've got a 'south west' thread, but anyone who goes on there will see my rant about whereabouts Wiltshire classes as being...

So I thought I'd ask, anyone in Wiltshire, or neighbouring counties?!

29 Name: Castora : 2009-12-27 13:05 ID:VBzm6ymG

I'm in wiltshire, and I live near Swindon. Don't know it that well, but i'm willing to meet up.

30 Name: Twitch : 2009-12-31 03:26 ID:i9ycmZ35

Blimey, writers from Wiltshire! I live in between Swindon and Bath, the top end of the county.

31 Name: Erika : 2010-01-06 19:12 ID:xVle/vv3

Just though i would say that im in Wiltshire. (work in shepton mallet) And im stuck between Bath and Chippenham.

32 Name: Bulletheart : 2010-01-10 07:39 ID:VNLDCTBs

Im in Wiltshire...Swindon mainly...but I can get around!! :)

33 Name: Bulletheart : 2010-01-10 07:39 ID:W58DTv9e

Im in Wiltshire...Swindon mainly...but I can get around!! :)

34 Name: Narlth : 2010-01-22 13:23 ID:OnlJoopL

I'm in Wiltshire, Wootton Bassett to be exact. It be so cool if we could meet up, but I'm only 15 so it would look a but weird.

35 Name: elrond_peredhel : 2010-01-27 12:54 ID:VSOc3+kj

Hey Narlth, do you go to Bassett Secondary? I do!
I'm from Lyneham btw, but not sure i would be allowed to go to personal meetings. Anyone want to chat via msn instead?

36 Name: Scandalous_Sarah : 2010-02-21 09:12 ID:UorgvzAX

Narlth, you may be the youngest here, but not by much. Most of us seem to be 17-ish.

Come on people! Manchester has managed to have a meeting, -Manchester! Surely we can too?

Date wise, I was thinking around April the tenth? It's a Saturday.

Location? It would have to be somewhere reasonable large with good transportation, looking back at where we're all from, Bristol and Bath seems to be the easiest/nearest.

37 Name: LASER : 2010-02-21 15:41 ID:z+kqeB9w

Do it in Bristol; it's bigger, there's more stuff to do and it means I can still use my bus card

38 Name: floatingcloudbadger : 2010-03-09 14:14 ID:Y/q6gpN1

i'm in bath :) but i'm quite a lot younger than you...

Idea: Printing out Your Fanfiction with a Front Cover on It (752)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2009-10-18 10:34 ID:wBoyvyw5

When there is an offline meeting, I think that it might be a good idea for each person who goes to the meeting to print out their fanfiction so that it can be shared with others. However, I think that it is best for everybody to have a front cover for their fanfiction when they print it out: a single page in front of their fanfiction so that its title is clearly visible, so that it has a unique visual appearance, and so that one can show it to others in real life more easily. It may not seem like much, but I think that it can go a long way towards making fanfiction more presentable, recognizable, and more easily shared in real life (during an offline meeting), rather than for it to look like just a jumble of text.

If you are not good at drawing or if you do not know anybody who can draw for you, then you can just have a simple cover with nothing except the title on it. Everybody should be able to do that.

With a front cover, you can then print out one (or more, if you wish) copy of your fanfiction (or the first few chapters of it, if it is too long) and put the front cover as the first page, so that it can be shown to others in real life at an offline meeting.

What do you people think of this idea?

743 Name: 13.shimer13 : 2010-03-05 14:51 ID:KQrj6o4j

Hey, this is a really good idea, it will help us all make the fan-fiction world go beyond the computer screen and into print!

744 Name: jewle69 : 2010-03-05 18:47 ID:ge0YAcLP

this is an interesting idea, i like it! even if i don't have any particular artistic talent myself it would be nice to see what other people came up with.

745 Name: chibi : 2010-03-05 19:11 ID:m+1narsl

its a great way of expressing views :) i love the idea^^ shows your indviduality more ^^ hehe!

746 Name: Lady Spero : 2010-03-06 16:22 ID:X3NozvDS

Hey, this idea sounds really good. grat way of presenting individual veiws of different charcters :) well done!!

747 Name: Lyralu : 2010-03-07 02:01 ID:H0K3m+eo

>>1 yea this is great, yoshino! i love this! maybe somepeople can even request covers from willing artists! it would be pretty brilleant :)

>requests are welcome! pm me on ff.net if you have it :) same username -lyralu-

748 Name: Mysty : 2010-03-07 03:09 ID:dOkGPq1G

Hey Yoshino, I think this is a brilliant idea!!!! It would be a great way to showcase fan-art and fanfiction in one work and it makes a work look more professional as well - something to be proud of rather than just a plain word document!!!

Thanks for sharing your ideas with me on FF.net and for telling me about your site

Mysty

749 Name: Snowphie : 2010-03-07 13:56 ID:2EJJoctx

I think that it's a good, practical idea, and also people who are really serious or interested about fanfiction could have a 'signiture' logo or image etc. which could be on the front cover, so that if they are well known at gatherings/ the fanfic world, then people can recognise them.

750 Name: Nefieslab : 2010-03-07 14:03 ID:tvUMECV7

hehe, I've never been good at drawing so I'd have to either get a willing artist or simply use my logo. That leads me to a point. Would the cover be allowed to be an image taken from somewhere on the internet (with correct referencing for the artist or website of course)?

751 Name: mikirobbo : 2010-03-08 11:53 ID:tXhD2MQv

I have to admit i've already done this. When i finished my first fanfic story i printed it all out on A5 paper so it would look like a book. I even added a contents and acknowledgements page. It looks amazing and is something i can keep and share with others. I would recommend that everyone has a go, although printing can take a while. My story is 357 pages long and took about 3 hours to print as i wanted it to be double sided like a book.

752 Name: Razcoolzle : 2010-03-09 10:38 ID:Giv4oqiT

Yeah ths idea is good because its quite simple so it wouldn't have many problems but it could have a good impact on the meetings

newcastle meeting dates (126)

1 Name: dance with the devil : 2010-01-03 10:40 ID:mGJ6MjeZ

right, I have put this on the other newcastle thread but I figured putting a new thread up would be ok.
right, first date i have arranged is 16th January. If you can make this date, please say so below. We will be meeting at the entrance of Central Station at 12 o'clock. Look forward to seeing you awesome people there XD

117 Name: Mazzy : 2010-03-05 09:30 ID:M7hAqxJS

Well, I'm 14 nearly 15. I don't want to be the youngest there XD

118 Name: dance with the devil : 2010-03-05 10:42 ID:60DhF6tS

>>117 nope, theres a few of us who are younger than you Mazzy

119 Name: Lorze the Brookes : 2010-03-05 11:17 ID:HI333ejc

Nuuuu, this means I have to wait until April 25th to see you RayRay D: And yeah, I just checked my calender, I meant to say the 25th April, not the 24th... how many of you did I just confuse there? :x

120 Name: RayRay : 2010-03-05 11:57 ID:WEH0tiUp

I got what you meant.

Butbutbut, it will be fun when I eventually see you =]

I'm looking forward to the whatever it is this month though =]

21st? :S

121 Name: Lorze the Brookes : 2010-03-05 15:04 ID:HI333ejc

Yeah, it's the 21st :) I won't be there (for reasons which I wish didn't exist) but I'll be sticking up a pre-meet blog post on http://www.fanbbsnewcastle.blogspot.com/ so that people can recognise each other and (hopefully) no-one gets left behind. Although I'm not sure what's happening with Beccarella and the Metro station :/

Someone take a camera with which to take many epic pictures so I can torture myself staring at them and wishing I had been there :<

122 Name: RayRay : 2010-03-06 08:44 ID:0y8H6TDQ

I always have a camera on me. Always.

I'm a shutter bug, fo' sho'!

123 Name: Lorze the Brookes : 2010-03-08 15:32 ID:HI333ejc

Emergency thread revival!

What are we doing about the Metro Centre? We kinda need to get this sorted, but I'm not going, so I'm kinda relying on Bec and Sab to help me out here :/

124 Name: Sabulana : 2010-03-09 09:24 ID:VxwvaOcE

D:

I just found out yesterday that I can't go along on the 21st either now. Apparently I was invited to a christening weeks ago and wasn't told about it and it is somehow assumed I'm going now without me saying anything. Not that I can say no without offending the wrong people so...

I'll not be seeing any of you until April now. ;-;

125 Name: dance with the devil : 2010-03-09 09:44 ID:60DhF6tS

so its just me then. sigh okies, well i personally think it would be better to meet at our usual place as the metro centre is a pretty big place and someone might say 'well why dont we meet outside insert shop name here' and it is entirely plausible that at least 1 person ie ME XD, wont know where that store is, whereas if we all meet outside central, its easy for everyone to get to and its busy as well, taking care of her reasoning for going to the metrocentre in the first place

126 Name: Sabulana : 2010-03-09 10:03 ID:VxwvaOcE

;-; I'm sorry. I had no idea I couldn't go until yesterday. I feel so guilty for having to cancel. >.>

There is a map of the Metro Centre if you google it and find the site though. But then again... there are more than one of some shops in there, which may complicate things more.

I'm more for meeting in the usual place though anyway. Not that it matters because I'm not going.

Personally, I'm near there.

KYAAAAH! FINALLY!!
Yeah, I'm in Wycombe. I made my own thread for this, but no one took any notice... ahh, at least I'm not the only fic author from Bucks!

3 Name: AnneOfTheIsland : 2010-01-31 12:42 ID:hp3SGc/P

Wahey!!!
Are you on ff.net?

Yeps! I'm 666-DemonicYoshi-666 on FFN, and all my fics are retarded Zelda ones. I haven't updated in a while, and they're all pretty...weird.

What fanfiction do you write?

5 Name: AnneOfTheIsland : 2010-02-01 10:50 ID:hp3SGc/P

Potter, :)
Though, I read more than I write.

6 Name: 777-DemonicYoshi-888 : 2010-02-01 14:55 ID:d7j1kFpN

7 Name: EtherealForest : 2010-03-09 02:02 ID:oSUsCouc

Woop! There are other Bucks fanfic writers :D I suddenly don't feel quite so alone. I'm in Amersham (although half my life is spent working in London) and write mainly yuri and Negima fanfics (also in bursts when I have the time) on ff.net (same name). I'm thinking we should have our own logo/flag or something, it could be the start of something big ;)

8 Name: EtherealForest : 2010-03-09 03:37 ID:oSUsCouc

Ah and the link from my name above won't work. Hopefully this one will :)

Anybody near London? (499)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2009-10-11 09:36 ID:30X0xa4H

Who here lives in or near London? Let's count the number of people here who live near London - if there are enough people, perhaps we could have a meeting sometime.

490 Name: HoldenCaulfield : 2010-03-07 14:46 ID:d4aQ8nLC

>>488 I mentioned this to you last week and the 14th is Mother's day. So of course there wont be a meeting.

Oh, right, Mother's Day. I didn't think of that one. Okay, see you all on the 21st then.

492 Name: mikirobbo : 2010-03-08 11:55 ID:nUnDxEW/

Hi i am new to this site and i live in Essex. I was just wondering where you usually meet in London?

493 Name: anymousse rox : 2010-03-08 11:59 ID:CAVm4aVR

elloz so... it says i can give ideas so here it goes............. What i think would be an awesmome crossover is ............................................................. HARRY POTTER AD WIZARDS OF WAVERLY PLACE! (with absolutley NO PROFESSOR UMBRIDGE) and harry can fall inlove with alex and the feeling could be neutreal!!!!!!

494 Name: mikirobbo : 2010-03-08 12:10 ID:nUnDxEW/

that could work, why don't you give it a go and see where it takes you

Thanks i'll let you know if i can make any meetings.

497 Name: Scourgeofthegalaxy : 2010-03-08 13:23 ID:T/HJD9T9

The phone number is available 24/7 except for when I'm in lessons. To be safe, call between 7 and 11pm.

498 Name: TV Geek : 2010-03-09 02:54 ID:JFXqwWBb

Erm, Holden, don't shoot me for saying this, but I had a look at the blog and from what I can tell if you put another one or two posts up it'll send Scourge's maps off the page.

Being new-ish to that site I don't know if it'll just go onto another page or if it'll be deleted once there's no more room. Either way, people will have to look harder to find the maps you mentioned.

I know that for us it isn't much of an issue as we know the drill forwards, backwards up-side-down and side-to-side, but say we have a new person who's less computer literate than I (unlikely but possible).

I know you don't know how to do the maps, I'm just saying it's something that we should probably be thinking about.

499 Name: HoldenCaulfield : 2010-03-09 03:23 ID:jlW/DE6x

>>498

And that's why Scourge can be absolute BABE and edit my post and put a map on. I've got him bitch whipped. He'll do it. Won't sweetie?

Any Scottish people or people who are near Glasgow? (107)

1 Name: DarthRevanShepard : 2009-10-25 10:03 ID:aCvCVmzr

Are there any fellow Scots out there who like fanfiction or simply people who are near Glasgow?

98 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-15 23:42 ID:vfhUnwM3

Before a gathering on the 20th of February, I think that it is important to revive this conversation...

99 Name: Dunabunk : 2010-02-17 18:54 ID:jt0i/2a7

I'd go but I'd need to know when and where

100 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-17 19:02 ID:IyP+jJXT

Additionally, perhaps it might be necessary to specify the time of the day: I think that 2:00PM would be best for now.

101 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-17 21:31 ID:IyP+jJXT

So, here is what the proposed time and place would be:

Place: Outside the Big HMV by the Buchanan galleries and Donald Dewars's statue
Time: Saturday, the 20th of February, at 2:00PM

102 Name: Zaku-118 : 2010-02-18 07:15 ID:c4K9e/8N

We still have to work on a way to identify each other.

I've got a very distinctive red hoodie i got on holiday, It's got Austria writen on it in big white letters. It's easy to spot and less conspicuous than carrying around a piece of paper.

Anyone else got any sort of distinctive clothing they could ware to help us identify each other?

103 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-20 10:40 ID:IyP+jJXT

I guess that due to lack of organization, were unable to have a gathering in Glasgow today...

I think that we can try again, in 2 weeks, on the 6th or 7th of March, but we definitely need to be more organized for this.

104 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-21 20:20 ID:IyP+jJXT

Hmmm... I guess that it was not a total failure after all? Well, hopefully, the next one will have more attendees - shall it be on the 6th of March?

105 Name: Dunabunk : 2010-02-23 14:31 ID:jt0i/2a7

The sixth of march is a good date. Maybe we just need a way of recognising each other.
I have a tan coloured duffel coat that I will wear. Anyone else with distinctive clothing or should we just have a sign saying FF Meeting?

Is 2o'clock still a good time for everyone?

106 Name: Zaku-118 : 2010-03-08 15:56 ID:5eHTVUv3
