I think she got most of us. While I admit the idea has merit this isn't really working as well as it could, anyone else think facebook might help spread the word of this? Anyone know of a writers block cure? I'm trying to write several stories at once and was sudden'y halted in all their progress...
I know exactly how you feel...maybe try listening to music as you write? Is there a song that inspired your stories or maybe a song that might help you think a bit more? That's what I do a lot of the time, it doesn't always get me anywhere but a lot of the time music relaxes me and gets me to open my mind more. :)

it really gets me frusterated when you see people read your stories but don't review. It really gets me going if i get a review, so i don't get why so many don't review. I love reviews, even if they are critical. You?
My pride and joy, my South Park series as eternal-lie, has had 10 reviews in the past 2 months of posting:
4 for Death and Drama
4 for Drama never Dies
2 for The Fall of Coon (and one of those was my sister hacking my third account to make me feel better and prove she really was reading it)
And according to FF.net I have had 823 visitors to those four stories, plus another one one I've posted on that account.
I've come to the conclusion South Park Fans are not a chatty bunch.
My Zelda story has more faves than reviews, which I find plain frustrating. I used to get over 400 hits when I updated (not sure how that measures up to others in the Zelda category), and get one or two reviews per chapter.
I wish more people reviewed. I think a lot of readers don't realize just how much it means to writers.
I prefer reviews because they tell me what I'm doing correctly and what isn't working. Unfortunately, it's hard to get very detailed reviews sometimes. :(
A friend of mine told me that just because people don't review doesn't mean they don't read.
It really ticked me off until I checked out my profile page. One story received over 144,000 hits while I got less than 1000 reviews for it. Did it matter any more? Not a chance, because if that many people are willing to read it.... I'm perfectly fine if they don't review.
Although, realisticly reviews are more than welcome and I do reply to every one I get. I also review every story I read whether or not it makes it to my fav list because I do know how it feels.
Getting hits is all well and good, but it always feels so much better in my eyes to get a comment back. It kind of annoys me when a ton of people look at something I made but say nothing. I don't expect every single person to comment. (If they did, I'd get over 1000 for some of my works) But one every now and then is always nice.
I have too admit, I usually don't review a story unless I really love it! I always try and think of my reviews and make them mor ethen a simple "please update" (which I also dislike). I have offered my soul, given cyber cookies, proposed, and given them virtually FF cash.....sometimes those dont work well, but i always keep trying!! My current story "Guardians of Time" (check it out!) Has over 200 reviews and over 1,000 people on my story alert :D
From the 58 stories I currently have posted I have a total of 103 reviews and a grand total of 22,324 hits. It doesn't bother me that i have so few reviews to the ratio of hits since I have 152 favorites. Plus I know when I'm reading a story that I'm really intreaged in I just continue to read till I reach the end. I'm sure many others do that too so they only do one review instead of one every chapter plus when you're really in the story you tend to forget about review.

First Steps: My Ranma epic, currently waiting an update when my muse for that one gets back from her retreat at the sanitarium.
Basic premise of the story: Ranma and Akane grow up. Things proceed to get weird.
Bad Moon Rising: A rongo story, based off of Doppler Effect. Drakken gets lycanthropy and infects Ron and Shego, then he clones Kim and starts causing trouble.
Echoes of Eras Past: The Courier, a woman named Molly who is not as she seems, and Boone partner up to complete their missions of vengeance and in the process change the wasteland.
I'll get a ridiculous amount of hits to a story - then only get like five reviews for every 100-1,000 hits...- but I get alot of favorites I guess, so that kinda makes me feel better about it.
what really pisses me off is this one chick - all she can say is "luv it, update soon, 'kay?"

I like hits, Some fics of mine get quite a lot, but I must admit I am quite the review junkie. It's like I won't update if I don't get X reviews, but I do lose my motivation when I barely get them.

The best place for manga is pretty much any manga site. But the ones I frequent most are mangareader.net and animea.net. Animea also has anime, but I mostly go to it for manga.

This has only happened to me once, but it was enough.
An Anonymous reviewer told me that I was a horrible writer with no taste and that I should go die in a hole. Obviously, this hurt my feelings quite a bit and made me want to stop writing for a while.
Has this ever happened to you?
My worst flame? I never got one... Mainly because I don't write enough and perhaps also due to the fact that most of my stories are non-mainstream fandom/pairings. I mean seriously who would actively search for a Unohana/Suifeng story. I did flame people though...
I mean seriously, not to bash anyone, but is there anyone that really likes mary sues(anyone want to come with me to bash in the head of every mary sue?) and stories that are based around an OC making everything in the story center around them. I mean sure OCs used correctly can add to the overall plot but when the whole fanfic becomes concentrated on them it just plain pisses me off.
I tried writing a fan fic for the Outsiders, it was only my third fic so it wasn't brilliantly written. Plus the historic facts weren't right during that time.
However,
I had gotten so many reviews of how my readers liked it. I felt so proud until this reader went on and on about he was the "actual" Dallas, made me sick. Dallas is just a fictional character not even real!
But besides that he wrote how Dallas would never act the way he did in my fic. Then other ppl tagged along with him (who was actually a her) and made me feel like the worst writer out there. So i deleted the bloody fic, and ppl begged me to post it again, so i did, and that same person came back to harrass me...so i gave up on the fic.

I wholeheartedly agree with everything that SoTiredBlah mentioned: they bash non-canon, but popular ships like the aforementioned Takeru/Mako and Chiaki/Kotoha for being "boring" and non-canon and insist that people should stop writing them for exactly those reasons. Exsqueeze me?
That same "reviewer" gave me similar "reviews" and even implied I was a "Sentai fannit" for the way that I had written one particular character in one of my fics. It shook my confidence a bit and got me pretty steamed, but I forged on. So there.
I get flamed with things like "OMG u suck why don't you just delete your account, god where did you learn to write!?" and things like that a lot

As for my worst flame, I've only experienced a few and it tends to be on my incest fanart. [I believe love has no boundaries. Only society applies those boundaries, but eh...]
Anyway, the flame was something along the line of "i hate you. i wish you would just die." It was on a Phineas and Ferb slash comic I spent days on to watercolour, and it hurt a little. [Then I thought of all the compliments I got instead.]
It helps to be an optimist in any given situation. c:

Hi, I'm new here and kinda socially awkward. I was wondering if I was the only teenage anime/fanfiction fan in my area. I live in South Carolina and so far my search for fellow fans has been fruitless. (the exception being my best friend whom I was able to convert)Not to mention my mom keeps nagging that I need to find a hobby that people will actually relate to.
