Girls or Boys? Let's Count (165)

1 Name: Anonymous : 2010-02-05 10:27 ID:dlAYB/pA

I have heard that about 60% (or higher percentage) of fanfiction readers and writers are girls... is that true? Well, right now, I highly think so. So, let's count to see how many of us here are boys or girls.

156 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 01:22 ID:1a5IKX+N

Ooh! Ooh! I'm a girl! -bounces up and down with hand raised like an idiot-

>>155 Paper-kun! Oh no! I'm stalking you, arn't I... Meh, I don't care... still... Hiiiiii~~!

157 Name: Otaku Girl : 2010-08-12 01:17 ID:zBOv8MjG

double X here! XX, meaning I'm a female! Unless science lies.

158 Name: Sephiria : 2010-08-12 18:22 ID:v8lqYVLn

Hi! I'm a girl too. XD

159 Name: aikora : 2010-08-13 08:46 ID:J2rgJRzD

one more guy to the list lol

160 Name: Mischievia : 2010-08-13 14:23 ID:xk2FqjZ2

I'm a girl, thanks, and I only know one guy writer/artist, but one who is only an artist. So...just two... and most of my friends on FF and dA are girls so...sorry guys!

161 Name: MPDkellyMPD/The Dark Side Has Yaoi : 2010-08-13 19:22 ID:mUO6WNAw

I'm a guy~~~

162 Name: YumeStar : 2010-08-29 15:59 ID:Sou/NKdD

girl

163 Name: Akito Rebellion : 2010-08-29 16:03 ID:Sou/NKdD

Guy

164 Name: YumeStar : 2010-08-31 15:28 ID:Sou/NKdD

Akito, it's not polite to cyber stalk your sister.

165 Name: Lil' DeiDei : 2010-09-02 13:53 ID:HdEeemsc

I'm a girl and I think I agree with that statistic. I always assume the stories I read are written by females, and when I find out they aren't, it usually comes as a surprise.

Story recomendations (10)

1 Name: Furia : 2010-07-13 12:08 ID:oGIQtBrJ

I consider myself a good writer and as such I like to read good works. But I the trouble with f-f.net is that I have to wade through a lot of what I consider bad stories to find my gems. As such does anyone here have any good recommendations. I like Naruto, Bleach, Kingdom hearts, and Harry Potter fics. I like the Protagonist to be realistic with a realistic threat from the Antagonist. No heavy bashing stories please, No harem stories unless it's done with the guy being a clueless idiot that has no idea that all the girls want him and don't want to share. And don't go easy with the action and violence.

2 Name: Finny's Momy : 2010-07-13 12:36 ID:VSUkT3SM

Bola's a rather good writer. She (he?) has written a couple of HP fics. I personally think King's Cross Again is her best, except for the very last chapter. XP

3 Name: Dreamcreator : 2010-07-13 15:18 ID:Mqku8UM1

Hi!

I good one that I can recommend would be for Kingdom Hearts. Its called Trials of the Keyblade by DariusAlmighty. I really like it, because it is well written, has a good plot (Has Star Wars in it! YES!), and is very creative.

I must warn you, its about over fifty chapters long and still going, but once you read the first chapter you are hooked.

I do hope that you enjoy it, like I have.

Dreamcreator

4 Name: Yemi Hikari : 2010-07-17 17:28 ID:5F1FGBd9

Red Witch. She writes G.I. Joe and X-men Evolution fanfics, including crossovers.

5 Name: Hollow Ichigo-Ichigo : 2010-07-17 17:47 ID:vzZk3IHs

I have a ton of recomendations!

Tiana Misoro, TealEyedBeing and Raicheru. They are great HichigoXIchigo and GrimmjowXIchigo authors! XD

Black Sun Upon An Icy Sky is an IchiRuki author of awesoemness~!

Let's see... Bloody Lover does UlquiorraXOC, and she did a HichigoXIchigo too. XD

Try 'em out! They're in my faves.

6 Name: Acier Glace : 2010-08-13 21:50 ID:VwFWL+4z

I have a ton of stories I could recommend, but I think I'll limit myself to only three suggestions.

1 The Sacrifices Arc by Lightning on the Wave. HP. All seven books completely rewritten around the premise that Harry has a twin. I didn't read anything but this Arc for days.

2 Secrets by Vorabiza. Hp. AU from end of Sixth Book. Argues how things would have gone down if Draco had gone to Harry with a very, very important request. Awesome and my all time favorite HP chapter fic.

3 The Sound Of Dreams by Zrina. Naruto. Long as all get out, excellent characterizations, very real danger and a great energy. All time favorite Naruto chapter fic ever.

7 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-18 21:49 ID:IiSENDws

I can only think of one really good one for the listed fandoms, so here:

Univited Guests by Moczo (Bleach), Effing fantastic, hilarious, and everyone is in character, amazingly. One of the best I've ever read. I highly reccomend.

8 Name: YumeStar : 2010-08-31 15:32 ID:ib0b3LOx

Well, I really love "A Peek in the life of Kurama and Hiei" by Anzymemangaz is really funny! I also like his/her..I think her..story "Chaos of the Leaf" "Insanity" is great too..I read a lot of fznfiction.

9 Name: Lupa Dracolis : 2010-09-01 07:20 ID:1yCo/BZm

Harry Potter? Don't go easy on the action and violence? You want Dumbledore's Army and the Year of Darkness, by Thanfiction. It's an M, but mainly for violence.

10 Name: Lil' DeiDei : 2010-09-02 13:51 ID:yhgg7Wzw

"The Girl From Whirlpool" is my favorite Naruto story. It's almost like a book. There are action scenes, but it's more about character development and the relationship between Minato and Kushina than anything else. It is an amazing story, though.

Anything by Sarah1281 is also always good for a laugh. "It's For a Good Cause, I Swear" is hilarious.

Most of my favorite stories are humor and snarcasm (sarcasm and snarkiness). The few action stories I've read have been good, but I am more for humor than anything else.

Hetalia Anyone? (33)

1 Name: Shion : 2010-04-05 23:52 ID:C0I+6uKG

Just wondering if anyone liked Hetalia besides from me. Is there?

24 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 00:13 ID:3abblGaG

I like Hetalia quite a bit. The fandom is...rather crazy at times, but it's interesting.

I...I write fic for it. While well-researched historical fanfiction is wonderful, so are the ones that expand on the (rather uncomplex) personalities and relationships (which are satisfying) in the series.

>>22 Right. As a matter of fact, no Google Translator-ed/Babelfish-ed anything. If the authors wanted other languages, they should make sure it's correct, and should put translation notes somewhere.

25 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 01:15 ID:mVrhYCYz

I love hetalia, a lot, its one of the funest fandoms I've ever been a part of, and I'm damn glad I am.

I write for it, often. And read, too. I like a lot of pairings (pretty cracky ones, too), but my personal favorite is Itacest (N.Italy/S.Italy). But I also love AmeriBela, Spamerica, Amerimano, and various others...

I love Lovi, he is just... gah~ I love him.

>>24 Hey Lurky! I'm a fish! -flails around retardedly-

26 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 01:21 ID:3abblGaG

>>25 *funnest (is that even a word?)

I'm going to go around and be your annoying spellchecker. And I don't even care if you're half asleep.

Uh huh. Yeah.

27 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 01:25 ID:mVrhYCYz

>>26 Meh, whatever, you should just be happy I'm actually posting on something like this...

Also, YOUR NAME ISNT CAPITALIZED AND ITS PISSING ME OFF.

So there.

28 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 01:36 ID:3abblGaG

>>27 You're not sage'ing...

Why? Your internet-shyness?

I find it aesthetically pleasing, and it's a username I don't find needs to be capitalized.

(also, try to keep with the topic, no? Talk about Hetalia.)

...er...I'm looking forward to the dub.

Writing for the fandom can be rather interesting if you're incorporating history into it, because...you know. The history mixed with the characters makes for a fun experience, usually. (Sometimes it gets you depressed.)

29 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 11:07 ID:mVrhYCYz

>>28 I'm not very knowlagable about that stuff, so yeah... sorry.

Yeah...

(Fiiiiine... but you strayed away earlier, too... -pouts-)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Lovi's dub voice, and the... er, subtext and hilarity of his lines (that I've seen). So yeah. (His original voice is also wonderful, but I'm pretty sure everyone knows that...)

(Happy now, Paper-kun?)

(Btw, I apoligize to the other posters, because yeah, my fatness is fat.)

30 Name: Otaku Girl : 2010-08-12 01:15 ID:OJfMMz/j

I like hetalia but I can't help but think that I should hate it because it makes fun of my home land (well, my grandparents home land) Not everyone in Italy is like that!!! We are not spineless little weaklings as Hetalia suggests!!! But the show is so funny that I can't help but enjoy it! Plus Todd Haberkorn does the voice of Italy...I just wish Vic Mignogna had a bigger part.

31 Name: Felton0Fanatic : 2010-08-21 13:35 ID:CnrsjG/X

It makes fun of every country! I'm english - I'm quite good at cooking, thank you very much. But they're supposed to represent the countries, not the people in them, making them steriotypes. Like America chomping on all those hamburgers and acting like a complete douche.

But I'll tell you something about Italy which makes you think that, yeah, they got Italy damn right!

"The Italians didn’t have a very happy time in the North African desert war. In September 1940 they set off in their tanks to destroy the British. Unfortunately, they lost their way, and drove around in a huge circle until they ran out of petrol and water. When they finally came face to face with the British Army many Italian soldiers panicked and ran away. They were driven back in to battle by their leader, General ‘Electric Beard’ Bergonzoli. By early December, they had been defeated. The Brits were surprised to find that the Italians were ready to be taken prisoner and many of them had their suitcases neatly packed and waited to be marched off to prison."

That's from Horrible Histories.

33 Name: YumeStar : 2010-08-29 15:52 ID:VBvr4uh2

well, if you put it that way....then I guess I'm all right with it. Plus, it has all three of my favorite voice actors!!! Even if Vic has a tiny little soldier A type part, he's still in the show!

Reviews v.s. Hits for your Fan-Fics (46)

1 Name: MyDeadlyPremonition : 2010-06-29 13:32 ID:yD1xzozE

it really gets me frusterated when you see people read your stories but don't review. It really gets me going if i get a review, so i don't get why so many don't review. I love reviews, even if they are critical. You?

37 Name: Creation of Pokerus : 2010-07-30 10:57 ID:yh2Xyz+L

'"Please update."

IS NOT A FREAKING WORTH IT REVIEW. I want to shank all the people who do that!!!'

Eh, I once got a ":(" because I put my story off for a while.

38 Name: Nikki Flinn : 2010-08-06 10:57 ID:gLf5JJSo

I actually don't mind when I don't get many reviews. I'm one of those writers who likes to reply to EVERY review (well, the signed ones. I do what I can for the anon ones) so when i update a story and I have like 40 new reviews for that chapter, it gets a little...long. In fact, sometimes it takes me more time to reply to all my reviews than it does to write the damn chapter. On the other hand, I want some recognition guys. Which is why I don't mind just hearing that you faved my story. At least you cared enough for that.

39 Name: Bola : 2010-08-07 01:16 ID:561jHeMQ

>>36 Oh yes! There's one girl, and one every single story, her review is 'love it'. That too means to me that they are just reviewing because they're wanna be my friend. I don't really care about her reviews anymore. I don't even think she actually reads them before reviewing. It has happened that I put up quite a lengthy story that would take at least half an hour to read, and she already reviewed it after ten minutes or something. That disappoints me more than getting no reviews.

I recently got a review saying "Whoa, this is a straight copy from x's story. Same story, same length, same plotline. Only yours is riddled with grammar mistakes. That's just very cheap of you, Bola." I was seriously pissed off. I don't read others' stories if they're dealing with the same ideas I have to prevent that from happening. I have been plagiarized two times before with said person getting 40+ reviews and I none because she PMs every person she knows or who has ever reviewed/favorited to read it, and I refuse to lower myself to that. That's just sick. That's just... THAT'S CHEAP! Anyway... So I went to read the story the review had mentioned, and indeed I had read it (and reviewed), but after mine was finished, just to see how she had done it.

Is it impossible to have the same ideas as someone else without knowing when it is obvious what might have happened? Argh! Her story was 1500+ words. Mine was about 450. Same length, indeed. -rolls eyes- I know there were mistakes in grammar. That was only because no one wanted to beta read, even though I had contacted about everyone in the fandom. I had done my best to fix as much I could, but didn't have any idea where the mistakes were. If that makes sense... I personally think it was cheap of her to review anonymously so that I couldn't reply, and that she judged me without knowing me. She just called me cheap without knowing the way I do things. ARGH. Anyway, I did notice similarities with the author author's story, and PM'ed her to ask if it bothered her that my story had some resemblance. She didn't PM back. I took my responsibility and deleted it, since her story was up first, even though I didn't actually plagiarize anything.

40 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 01:29 ID:YEDL3hp5

I try to review most things I read. If I don't like it, I give criticism - not always with the best intentions (sadly, sometimes I do it so that the writer will get better and I'll have better things to read. Yeah, I'm that...rude? But I'm not rude upright, just my intentions are...), but I try to be polite and encouraging.

I don't get many reviews. Currently the most I have is five, for a oneshot, which I'm quite proud of. (I refuse to count the one I did on my first account, a oneshot with sixteen reviews, because that was, honestly, crap.) I don't mind not getting reviews, although they make me feel better, and I love criticism (although I tend to shy away from it). I do hate reviews (not on my fics, but on ones that I find good) that consist of five or less words that either ask for more updates or say "LOLZ nice". Just...put some thought into it, I say.

41 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 01:33 ID:cHt94An9

Personally, I really enjoy getting reviews, but I'm also happy recieving any feedback, alerts, favorites, anything, it makes me happy to know people at least get some enjoyment from my work... whether they review or not.

42 Name: ScifiSOS : 2010-08-11 14:16 ID:OgtYDYTm

I like getting reviews but when people just ask for updates it kind of annoys me. I hate getting cap-locked reviews. It might just be me and my issues but it makes me feel as if their yelling at me and I prefer normal tone.

I think what matters most is actually getting a review that caused your reader to talk about the subject or ramlbe about the story. There is this short story I wrote and it only got 13 reviews. I was far from satisfied up until I read them.

From a long review: "what makes a great story? is it the writing or the way characters are described, probably but i think mainly in my p.o.v. it's how the author expresses feelings, probably their own feelings or feelings that they have seen others go through, by using their, or others, characters. this fanfic shows a lot of feelings and i bet you worked really hard even if some chapters were shorter. i'm not a critic, but even if it is a fanfic you have a lot of talent on how to express feelings. keep writng and happy new years^_^ loved the story and it's kinda true in life their are no happy endings, but their are happy moments"

To something as small and simpl as this: "Wow. Wow! This is just so wonderful! You've structured it just right. And the general impression from the whole story is just life-asserting and mature. You've done a great job. I'm really impressed and moved. Thanks a lot."

43 Name: The Dark Side Has Yaoi : 2010-08-13 19:32 ID:zaLGItT/

I unfortunately have asked only for updates, but that's when I'm super sleepy. I regret EVER doing that.

I love getting reviews on my done story. Even flames~ They can be funny to read, and I'm sort of an odd ball.

44 Name: JUCHKO : 2010-08-15 17:40 ID:Io5h3fQT

Reviews are important; both to make your work better and to make you as a writer feel more confident. I absolutely detest flamers who bash solely for the purpose of being mean/rude (all my AN have something at the end about not flaming). On the other hand, constructive criticism is a good thing.

As a 'veteran' on fan-fiction dot net (5 yrs with an account, and longer without) here are some things I've found that help get more reviews on a story:

a) Have a summery, preferably a good one (it's what gets people to read the story, after all). Never say "I'm not good at writing summaries, so just read it" because the first thing most people will do when they read this is skip on over to the next one.

b) If you're wanting a lot of people to read it and you're not choosy about what you write about, choose a topic that's popular (like Naruto, DBZ, Sailor Moon, Harry Potter, etc) and/or choose pairings that are popular/controversial (you'd be surprised how many people want to read about nearly impossible pairings like Sakura/Itachi or Hermione/Tom Riddle).

c) If what the topic you wish to write on is rather unknown, a fresh look on things (such as a new pairing or plot idea) can give you a lead.

Post too long. Click to view the whole post or the thread page.

45 Name: Anonymous : 2010-08-21 11:02 ID:mLxSe9JQ

I love getting reviews as much as the next person, but I've found myself getting excited for certain people to review. Why? Because those people actually READ my story and give real feedback besides, 'Love It! Update soon!' 40 fracking times.

46 Name: Jen : 2010-08-22 13:36 ID:u/P6ye/D

>>45 Yeah, around my fandom there are authors who are better than others. When I get an email that says x person who is a good reviewer has reviewed, I am excited to read it.

I don't ask for updates, I just say "can't wait until the next chapter is posted", because I don't want to be pushy, I just want to be nice.

Account on Fanfiction (84)

1 Name: Cali : 2010-05-12 11:02 ID:T3YEGjKd

I'm thinking most of us will have fanfiction accounts so why don't we give each other our usernames on that website and check out each others' fics?

75 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 00:21 ID:iMmgiFWD

Hello, everyone. Er, well, I'm Lurksong, Kirou on FF.net.

While I've been into fanfiction since...early 2009, I hadn't written it until August. (The first attempts were... horrible. My old account is still floating somewhere around FF, but I'm afraid to go fetch a link.)

Currently I write for Hetalia (mainly) and Sisters Grimm. Mostly angst (GAH WHY) and...yeah.

76 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 00:41 ID:OwZ9WYhF

Hello people of the interwebs, I'm Pieland, and I'm proud to say I'm awesome. Yeah.

My FF account is also Pieland (currently... it may change at any time...)

I've been writing Fanfics since... 2008, I believe... and have gone through a wide rage of fandoms, I'd list, but I'm lazy... and most of them I'll never write for again... But anyways, I'm currently into Hetalia Axis Powers, and have... a few fics (mostly poems) for it...

I also have a joint account with dear Lurksong up there, the name is MuffinsInTheShower (long story in the name... ok, its not, but I'm lazy), so yeah.

It's a beautiful morning~

77 Name: The Dark Side Has Yaoi : 2010-08-13 19:27 ID:hQBuHMw5

I'm "The Dark Side Has Yaoi".

I write mainly Death Note fanfics, but I've written one on Naruto.

One DN ff is a HP crossover, but that's coauthored by "Me and My Friend Caffine".

78 Name: Acier Glace : 2010-08-13 21:39 ID:J8GYhHs7

I'm Acier Glace on FF, and I dabble in a variety of genres. I have two finished Naruto one-shots, an ongoing HP fic, and one sestina for YuGiOh.

79 Name: Toxi : 2010-08-13 21:48 ID:sYhREjd3

Yo guys. I'm Toxi on FF.
I mainly have Hetalia stuff, but I've got one Soul Eater fic that I kind of just dropped off on. : D

I'm a huge SuFin shipper, and I adore Sealand.
I also am thinking about writing some Yume Nikki stuff, or at least more of it.

80 Name: Musical Panda : 2010-08-17 18:48 ID:Dg0t9sZ6

Hey, I'm The Musical Panda on FF.
I generally do Anime, but I also have stories for Star Trek, Twilight, and Harry Potter.
I actually have a series going called 'The Musical Panda Crack Series' which has a few thing's in it already.
I also may write something else for Naruto, as soon as writer's block clears up.

81 Name: BriiDream : 2010-08-18 09:54 ID:J+9F7Wy6

Hi, I'm BriiDream on FF and I have written 10 fanfics (majority is Harry Potter). I also have a Twilight multichapter-on-hiatus, a Twilight AH oneshot, and a Naruto multichapter-in-progress.

84 Name: YamiTenshi : 2010-08-21 00:13 ID:/59GY+KP

Salute and bonjour ladies and gentlemen, I am YamiTenshi. Also known as YamiTenshi. Or Tenshi, for short. You can find me on ffnet, though I started writing fanfiction on the big FAC (FanArt Central) before they totally screwed things up over there and ruined my formatting, rendering all my old stories unreadable.

I've been in the fanfic biz for five years and currently have 39 stories, mostly Naruto but there's also a couple of DNAngel fics (one crappy, the other decent), one +Anima story, and a Death Note fic.

I enjoy good books, X-Play, and people who aren't stupid. I'm not really looking for Mr. Right or Mr. Right-Now, but if you wanna be friends that's cool too.

Can ya dig it?

Final Fantasy stories, anyone? (21)

1 Name: Refi : 2010-02-04 04:38 ID:7RjUf9wA

Since getting our computer back I've been writing fics nonstop, getting down all my SoulCalibur ideas (Siegfried/Sophitia and Talim/Yun-seong FTW ^_^). But it's been a while since I've done any Final Fantasy...I've done VII and X so far...any requests for Final Fantasy fics? I haven't properly played XI though, nor have I played XIII (it's out a day before my birthday, March 10th!) but any other FFs I can manage. Requests, anyone? x x x x

How about a 'What if Zack took more of a (friendly/platonic) interest in Cloud after their meeting and helped him get into SOLDIER/attempted to and because of that Nibelheim went differently/something else resulting from it'? Adventure/Friendship. Could work well as a short or an extended.

I've always been partial to the thought of a Sephiroth/Vincent conversation fic, concerning the ambiguity of Sephiroth's paternity. i.e. was Hojo the father, or did Lucrecia have a moment of indiscretion with Vincent beforehand? It'd be a fun prompt, anyway.

Favourite genre of fanfics (55)

1 Name: Cali : 2010-05-12 10:59 ID:8sxCs5fL

I know some people particularly search out romance fanfics to read or can only write angst ones, etc. So I was wondering what do you like to read and/or write?

46 Name: Tan-Tan Tanuki : 2010-07-20 12:10 ID:tSnayxT4

I've been doing action/adventure stories, a few humor, romance and hurt/comfort stories too, I've done at least one horror story as well. If you want to read them, check them out.

47 Name: EnVyS pEt NeKo2 : 2010-07-20 13:23 ID:SEDUY5n3

My favorite genre is romance lol! Oh and hurt/comfort that's really cute too. I sometimes like angst if it has happy end and other genres like mystery or action. Mostly as long as there's no dying or sad end I'll read it xD

48 Name: EvilFuzzy9 : 2010-08-01 11:11 ID:vjl235Kh

I usually tend to prefer more lighthearted, humorous fare. However, I also enjoy the occasional dark story -- sometimes tragedy or angst, sometimes horror or suspense. I generally avoid purely romantic stories, nowadays, and I am loth to write dramatic, romantic relationships in my stories, because my attempts to be serious or dramatic oft veer off into bathos and hyperbolic exclamations. Even 'A Monster, From the Right Perspective', my sole serious fic (a oneshot, and one of which I am fairly proud), falls into this trap once or twice.

I also enjoy the occasional harem fic, though writing one that is any good, I have found, can be truly challenging. Which I suppose is why I have found myself working on two of them. One is a twisted deconstruction of harem, super, and dark fics, set in Hyrule circa 'Twilight Princess'; the other is a goofy, manic fic following the parallel adventures of a girl and the boy she loves, as the girl attempts to build a harem for her beloved, as her beloved deals with an unwanted, emerging legacy, set in 'Hayate the Combat Butler'. Both are presently stalled, the former due to writer's block, and the latter because I am having a hard time trying to find the name of a character who plays a minor role in the next chapter.

...Jiminy Cricket, how in blue blazes did a post regarding my preferred genres so quickly devolve into shameless self-promotion and thinly-veiled bitching about my own procrastination? Answer: The world may never know....

49 Name: xYuzuki-Tachioux : 2010-08-05 13:38 ID:Hc195Alt

Hello! I came to check out this site! I like it so far. I write on fanfiction for a year now, under xYuzuki-Tachioux, and I love anime!

50 Name: HaniTwili : 2010-08-08 15:52 ID:b1VKIl0E

Romance/humour FTW! :D

51 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 01:42 ID:0pBCtj68

My favorite would have to be angst. Lawl. Because I'm a wangsty person.

I've also found that I enjoy horror and tragedy, and angst can, of course, be integrated into that.

Also, romance, humourous or not, is lovely.

52 Name: Sesshi-Chan : 2010-08-11 14:08 ID:Nsxq+OfB

I personally prefer to read angst although it depends on my mood. I've been having a romance kick lately and I can read just about anything as long as it is free of Mary Sues.

53 Name: Twin Kats : 2010-08-11 21:31 ID:tYf+Lav2

Sheesh, a lot you guys seem to like the angst, romance or humor! Or as far as I can see XD I'm more big on preferring parody fics, mysteries, or even a good action/adventure. Mostly because all those angst fics make me all depressed again. And give me too many ideas. Romance has gotten so cliched it's really hard to find a good one, and they tend to get spammed with certain pairings that end up making me want to pull my hair out just because their so common and overdone.

54 Name: Melori : 2010-08-16 10:23 ID:ahhC6cSA

I'm more of a Romance person myself. At least, that's what I'm best at writing. A good Hurt/Comfort fic peaks my interest, too. And Action/Adventure, and Supernatural, and Spirituality fics. Basically, the whole shebang. Except graphic stuff, of course.

55 Name: BriiDream : 2010-08-18 10:16 ID:PEIQvJRt

I will pretty much read anything as long as it has a dash of humor/irony, maybe a bit of angst, and a good plot not solely based on a pairing.
My stories do have a bit of angst. There's a bit of romance as well (not fluffy).

Introductions? (320)

1 Name: TearThePetals : 2010-01-08 05:49 ID:0pQD1jvZ

So, we all pretty much know the main users by now, but a bit of shameless narcissism never hurt anyone. My name is Helen, I am 17 and I go by tearthepetalsoffofyou (v. Pretentious, I know) on ff.net. I live in London and write mainly for Buffy and Harry Potter. I am writing this because I am bored on a bus and feel weirdly proud that I made the first post on this bit. So, introduce yourself if you feel so inclined.

311 Name: Prince : 2010-08-05 06:45 ID:s+9xA7O4

I am simply Prince. Shan't tell you my age, for it is irrelevent. At the time, I'm taking a break from writing fanfiction, but mine is usually pretty decent.
On fanfiction I'm known as Fallen Angel of the Forgotten.

312 Name: LonelyAura : 2010-08-05 09:48 ID:8ldDPcSp

I just realized I should have posted the intro here, so I will.

I'm a girl, I've been on Fanfiction for less than a year(yet have seven stories), I enjoy drawing, and I mostly do fanwork for Naruto. And, I'm now sadly admitting I am NOT the youngest writer on Fanfiction, being an age that is not the youngest.

Um, it would be hard for me to go to meetings offline, but I could manage it. I'm a stickler for grammar, but less strict about spelling, as English confuses me often(English is the 'anti-phonetic language'). So... there 'ya go. It would be fun to meet with some of you someday.

313 Name: Nikki Flinn : 2010-08-06 10:52 ID:w7dD11hp

The name is Heather. I write almost exclusively HP fan fiction under my penname Nikki Flinn. I don't claim to be the best but I like to write so yeah... :3

314 Name: lurksong : 2010-08-09 00:34 ID:pAPsSl/1

Yo. I was recently (read: twenty minutes ago) introduced to this by a friend who was also recently (read: twenty-one minutes ago) introduced to this by an acquaintance.

I'm female, known as Kirou on FF, got into fanfiction in early 2009 (looking for Twilight fanfiction, I'm ashamed to admit, when I was very naive [read: idiotic, moronic, foolish]), and started writing for it mid-2009, when I got my own computer. I now write fanfiction avidly, although it's not my first venture into writing, as I'd aspired to become a writer long before I discovered fanfiction, and loved reading far before that.

While I'm definitely not extremely good - I doubt I'll ever be - I don't think I'm horrible. Although sometimes I doubt myself. At least I can spell and use proper grammar most of the time.

I usually write for Hetalia and Sisters Grimm, have several Harry Potter, Pendragon, and Wild ARMs 4 fics that will never see daylight, and will probably be writing for various other fandoms later.

And I believe I'm done now.

315 Name: Pieland : 2010-08-09 00:53 ID:eH1+o0qK

Why hello there.... I'm Pieland (see name above, and link), I'm awesome, and a tad lazy, so dont expect much (It's 12:45, for shit's sake...)...
Ok, so, I love to write, I write fics mostly for Hetalia now-a-days, and I draw, too, a lot. The internet is my friend, no, I love the internet, and I like to think it loves me too (though, I know he's cheating on me with over a million people... its a strained relationship...), I'm 13, I'm a girl, and I'm awesome (as stated above).

I will have a book published some day, I know it, and it'll be a damn good one. So there.

And yeah... that's all, I'm a lazy ass, just ask Lurksong up there, she knows...

316 Name: ScifiSOS : 2010-08-11 14:26 ID:/ZaMd/C/

ScifiSOS, here. I have no idea how long I've been on FF.net but I do know when I first started out I was horrible - and that is a understatement. Then I left FF.net for a year and a half (or more) and came back. My writing was still horrible but I worked on it. It is waaaay better now but I'm still grammar queen. I work better with my emotions and music. I'm guessing my stories are good because of the raw emotion I feel when I write it. I love writing MalexMale pairings and I'm not so comfident to put up my femxfem or het stories because I've gotten to use to malexmale. I write under Harry Potter, have one HPxTwilight fanfic - even though I do not like Twilight. I have a lot of stories that are unfinished (cuse I suck like that) and usually like writing PWP one-shots just for the hell of it. I have a lame sense of humor but hey - some like it so we'll be lame bunnies together.

Umm...no idea what else to say. Have a nice evening! (morn/night)
~ScifiSOS

317 Name: Antauri's Shadow : 2010-08-11 14:49 ID:KIE7S6Kt

Hi, um I'm kinda new here, the admin invited me to come and check out the forum, and I just wanted to introduce myself.

318 Name: Twin Kats : 2010-08-11 21:27 ID:xu87SnOl

Heh, yo! Just found out about this site and think it is lovely~ I'm Twin Kats on FFN for all those who are curious.

319 Name: Fawx : 2010-08-16 09:41 ID:6E4SKqmI

I'm Fawx, ficwriter and blogger. I'm on several fanfiction/etc. sites throughout the web, including FF.Net, deviantArt, Livejournal, PaperDemon, and AFF.net. Well, the last one not so much, until the place gets a major overhaul.

I write mainly for Yu Yu Hakusho, with some forays into other fandoms, including Ronin Warriors/Yoroiden Samurai Troopers, Mononoke (not Princess Mononoke, the other one) and Slayers.

My fics are mostly slash, some het, a few gen. I've been working on the same long-term multichapter fic for about ten years, give or take, and while it's been driving me of the cliff of insanity and halfway up the other side, I wouldn't give up ficwriting for the world.

320 Name: BriiDream : 2010-08-18 10:06 ID:0YFlkTKk

Hi, I'm Brii. I am 15. I'm on both ff.net and fictionpress (under Dreams-are-Reality). I write mainly for Harry Potter, although I do have stories in progress for Twilight and Naruto.
I'm a slow updater (only six chapters for my Naruto fic in seven-eight mths). That's pretty much it.

I do agree with the others... better without the hat Iaccy - though I guess it depends... well, I can't say anything, I have a cap stuck on my head. But it's a cool hat - and I totally relate to the useful bit.^^

RayRay, fairy princess is not all.^^ (My, short hair suits you.^^)

Anyway, I can't look 'natural' on my pictures - being the weirdo I am.

That one was take ages ago - with my glasses and long hair... (and weird hair colour)

And that one is recent - new hair... though, as I said, I can't take a picture without trying to pose due to lame complex.
